Re: The Official December 2016 Study Group - Time to register! New Poll!
I wouldn't say I've gotten complacent, but for September I had a lot of 8 hour study days and never took a day off, but this time around I've taken every Saturday off except for maybe a PT early in the morning and rarely study for longer than 4 hours a day. I haven't drilled any LR because I feel like my time can be better spent drilling games and RC, and just really critically reviewing any LRs that I've missed on all previous tests, and it's seemed to be a good strategy. I might start drilling LR a little more just because I weirdly enjoy them, but it seems like critically reviewing missed ones has helped me more than just drilling.dj9i27 wrote:I'm dry on fresh material except for 1 more PT and I'm going to consider PT79 a half fresh since I don't remember anything from it really. As for the distracting environment I don't think it is as much of a factor but, taking them in different places, thats what I did over the past 2 months. I said, "why not" and reordered 62-71 just for LR purposes since I'm completely dry and just want to stay on top of things.Tazewell wrote:I pretty much have the same plan. Work on weird games on days I don't PT and just keep PTing and reviewing.dj9i27 wrote:So, we are now about 12 days out; I'm getting the feeling that the general consensus around here is that they feel good and are ready to take it? Personally I just need to sit down and look at weird games for a couple afternoons and I think I'll feel good.
I AM NOT OKAY NEED MORE TIME JESUS GOD WHY
My two things that make me nervous are I haven't done PTs in distracting environments enough, and I feel like that hurt me a little in September. I'm also out of fresh PTs so that sucks but not the end of the world.
All in all, I'm ready for the test and definitely feel better two weeks out than I did in September. I'm not too excited or too anxious. It just feels like any other day.
I have been a lazy potato this weekend, didn't do much except a PT and maybe 5 RC passages today, a little burnt out but I feel ready to drill LR and RC tomorrow and take PT79 Tuesday.

No, I'm saving that for test day. Seriously though, it's important that you get control over your emotions. That is probably the primary factor for performance on test day after of course the skills you've developed in previous months. Everyone's at least a bit nervous, and that's normal, but try to put things in perspective. I can tell by your name that you've already put a tremendous amount of pressure on yourself based on your LSAT score. Don't let your LSAT score dictate how you value yourself. You're more than a test. The average score on your PTs you can expect to get on test day. Don't stress yourself further with goals of suddenly doing 5+ points better on the actual. At the end of the day, if you don't attain the score you want, no one's going to saw your hands off, this is America. (#officespace) Life will go on. Your family and friends will still be there. Have a plan now for how you'd like to proceed if you get a lower score. Being prepared for alternate options will make you less nervous about that possibility. Even if you don't go to your number one choice, whatever path you take, 10 or even five years from now, you'll find the experiences you had make your performance in two weeks hardly even an afterthought.180orDie wrote:Has anyone had a breakdown yet? Quite possibly one of the sincerest posts I've read on this forum, well done instrumental. 180ordie, I feel you. You may feel like you only have this one shot, it being December and most people will have submitted their apps by the first week of January. Just know that even if you were to bomb, which you won't, retaking is a smart thing to do. Don't put yourself in a situation where you feel like your back is against a wall. Worst case scenario, you score 5 points lower than your average, get wl'ed, take in february or june, and get admitted to a great university. you'll be ok.Instrumental wrote:No, I'm saving that for test day. PT 78
173
LR1: -4 (derp)
LG: -0
LR2: -2
RC: -1
Pretty standard on LG, better than average on RC, worse than average for LR. I've been neglecting LR by and large since September, so I'll need to do some recalibrating there. Didn't feel as confident as I would have liked to on LG or RC, but shoot, I'll give up all the confidence in the world for those section scores on test day.

Definitely take a day or two off over Thanksgiving Break, and I'm willing to bet that you'll come back feeling refreshed. Spend time with family and just make it a point to not talk about the LSAT other than some questions they'll surely ask you.180orDie wrote:Has anyone had a breakdown yet? At this point in the game, what you know is what you know, so there's no point in stressing about it. Just rely on all of the studying you have already done, and certainly don't feel like you need to cram things in these last few weeks. Just relax, stay confident, and you'll be fine!

I've spent my entire life in Texas and the most north I've been is Tennessee... But this break I'm going up to Maryland with my SO and her family and there's a very strong chance I will freeze to death lol. I own literally zero warm clothes! But I'm excited and it should be a blast! Definitely need this break from school and the LSAT.Mikey wrote:can't wait for thanksgiving break. i have school tomorrow only but from 9-6 so that's gonna be a drag.

Lol, I mean.. I should be going to school on Wednesday (only 1 class that day but it's 3 hrs) but the prof cancelled bc it's the day before thanksgiving lol, but the school is still open. I envy those who have this whole week off, i really don't feel like travelling out there tomorrow, staying there all those hours and back, fml. can't wait for this semester to be over, or college in general.dj9i27 wrote:I'm like 99% you go to Stalin's School for Love and Compassion University because you don't get any days off bro.Mikey wrote:can't wait for thanksgiving break. i have school tomorrow only but from 9-6 so that's gonna be a drag.

Dun care, but, TBH, try to get away from that thread a bit. I'm sure I'll end up not taking my own advice, but it's not particularly healthy IMO... esp the final days.dj9i27 wrote:We all have a pressing matter to attend to...

I have classes today and tomorrow too. Thankfully not Weds. I always wondered why schools didn't just take the L and give everyone off the whole week. Everyone is burnt out and anxious to go home, so Mon/Tues isn't even productive class days.. Oh well !Mikey wrote:Lol, I mean.. That was the most intense grey day. It was a week full of nerves and stress. I reckon December will be your standard early release...and if not, it cannot be worse than Sept hahadj9i27 wrote:Eh its fun kinda; the final days you are 100% right tho, I swear my blood pressure spiked for the last 3 days until grey.34iplaw wrote:Dun care, but, TBH, try to get away from that thread a bit.
