Btw, your answer to my question is so stupidly close to bp's formal answer (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 3#p6482053) that I'm officially jealous of your grip on this test. I thought I was bad ass with my scores. Not even cool breh.Daily_Double wrote:John_rizzy_rawls wrote:this thread is the truth.

In a bit of Semi-LSAT related news, I have an interview for a Legal Assistant position with a small to mid size firm in my area.
Any tips from you guys?

haha, I just saw that. Although, he didn't point out that it's sufficient, which is why it's tricky. DD 1, BP 0. (BP if you see this, I'm kidding, you win a million times over.)John_rizzy_rawls wrote: Btw, your answer to my question is so stupidly close to bp's formal answer (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 3#p6482053) that I'm officially jealous of your grip on this test. Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
I've done this for the past three years, and still continue to do, as a part time job, 15-20hrs a week, during school. I enjoy it, the people are fun, experienced, and we wear jeans, friday only, and part of my floor gets a little sauced after work on Fridays before we drive home. The thought is that a recommendation from an attorney in addition to my teachers will look better than just teachers, but this is all speculation. I'd say do it if you have time, don't sweat it if you don't.CanILive wrote:In a bit of Semi-LSAT related news, I have an interview for a Legal Assistant position with a small to mid size firm in my area.

Just did it under 7, in class, -0. I'll upload the diagram later, this game really just revolved around the difference between L AND O, L OR O, or NEITHER L NOR O. This ties back into the discussion of sufficient and necessary conditions, the variables all tie together, you just have to make sure not to make an unwarranted inference.

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
So the tricky part about this game is making logic chains around the phrase either or. So what I did was make the first chain using L/O to mean L or O, but not both, the second chain, to the right of the first, using ~L and ~O, and the third, which is the contrapositive of the first, which means L and O.
I made some brief hypos, below, which aren't very important, those are just for me, I did all my other work next to the questions. This wasn't a tough game, if you broke it apart.

Thanks DD^^
Okay, so the contra of the last rule is supposed to be diagrammed:
~F or ~S ---> L + O?
I initially had L or O for the necessary condition. But since the sufficient condition in the rule is ~(L + O) then the contra of that would be both of them in?

The way I see the last rule, and I could be wrong here, is:CardozoLaw09 wrote:Thanks DD^^

~LO ----> F and S
(Contrapositive) ~F or ~S ----> LO
So the way I look at this rule is a block form, if both L and O are not in, then F and S are. If F and S or not in, then L and O are in.

One of the Superprep tests has an exclusive or rule involved in some game and I nearly shat myself when I first encountered it.

Okay, just did LR S2 of PT 30 and missed 3. That's good news, and I'm feeling much better about the questions. I'm going to do a lot more reading from here on out. I need a better score. NEED.

For those of you who have trouble with games, I would suggest you redo games from PT 1-38.
I did all the games three times. Now I can diagram and draw inferences really quick. This also helps me to improve my speed. Yesterday I printed out all the hardest game from PT 1-38 ( PT 23 G2, PT24 G3, PT25 G2, PT27 G2, PT31 G2, PT33 G3, PT34 G4, PT 36 G3). I did it in a roll, each under 6 min and all -0.
I can't strike enough about familiarity. You'll all kill it in June.

Check out the game above, I nailed it, but I'd like to see how others did it. It's PT B of the Superprep book.crazyrobin wrote:For those of you who have trouble with games, I would suggest you redo games from PT 1-38.

I'll be honest with you DD, even with your cheat sheet this game makes no sense to me. It took me 14 minutes (mostly because I could not figure out how that last rule should be drawn) and i missed 3 of 6.
How is the the answer to 7 D? I just can't understand it.

Your way is probably the most efficient, DD. It's the rule interpretation that caused me trouble on this. Your approach is definitely credited though. Tried it with the logic chain earlier and it was a mess.Daily_Double wrote:Check out the game above, I nailed it, but I'd like to see how others did it. Also, on #11, is the reason it is not "A" because S could still be in even if P is in?
