Re: December 2012 Re-takers
Ughh, got owned by my early morning tangle with PT 54.
Positives: -1 in LG, my weakest section
Negatives:
-4 in RC. Excuse me? What. -3 alone on the Aida Walker passage. Fucking "cakewalk", my ass.
-7 in LR combined. Some stupid, stupid mistakes.
-12 for a 168 scaled score. Harsh curve on this baby.
I'll take the positives from it, and work on my weak areas. Fuck, just so discouraging.
Feels like i'm playing that whack a mole game, finally hammer down a strong LG section on a PT, only to have traditionally strong sections pop up and bite me in the ass.

Re: December 2012 Re-takers
Took PT 65 (not fresh, prepped it for Oct)
LR: -1
LG: -2
RC: -5
LR: -0
175
Still struggling with RC timing a bit. LG -2 is unexceptable. I know I got 1 wrong cuz I was too cocky on the time and so sat there for a bit staring at a question. The other one, damn...don't know what happened...need to go back and check.
Would be nice to get this on test day, but probably not going to happen.
Things to keep in mind for myself: When you see a diagram opportunity, do it right away. Cuts through the bullshit real fast. Of course don't do it for every question, but necessarys, sufficients, and MBTs are best candidates.

Re: December 2012 Re-takers
The test itself wasn't super hard, but the -10 curve wasn't justified imo. Having taken ~45 PTs now, I think I have a pretty good feel for the relative difficulty of a PT.gettingerdone wrote:PT was also one of my worst when I was prepping for Octchemteacher wrote:PT 54 owned me last weekend for a 166. Re: December 2012 Re-takers
169 on Superprep C for a personal best
RC: -7 (this score surprised me as I totally didn't expect it, reviewing tonight)
LR 1: -1
LR 2: -3
LG: -5 (did not get to 3)
Edit: Taking with a grain of salt because it is an older PT with a generous curve, but encouraging to be getting up there

-16 for a 169?
Was it -14 or -15 for a 170?

Word. I've been getting -9'd and -10'd to death on my most recent PTs curves.gettingerdone wrote:-14! What I would give to have a similar curve in december....Alorain wrote:Holy smokes, check out the curve on that sucker! (TWSS)gettingerdone wrote:169 on Superprep C for a personal best

-10 on both June 2012 and Oct 2012 too. Can't buy a -12+ curve :'(

Re: December 2012 Re-takers
The biggest issue with this question seems to be the scope shift from "college students" (in general) in the conclusion to "my students" (specifically) in the premise. Though C (like B) might identify a problem with the argument, it's not the biggest problem. Try the denial test - negate C (or B), and the argument still doesn't connect its premise to its conclusion. But negate A, and the whole thing just doesn't make any sense anymore.applemaroon wrote:Can someone help me with a LR question? PT 5, Section 1, #2. What makes A a better answer than C? Thanks!

I don't particularly like Thanksgiving either since it's centered around eating and I don't like turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, or almost any Thanksgiving food. But my family rocks so I guess it evens out.Wormfather wrote:Out of all the holidays, I hate this one the most.

*internet hug*
ETA: If it makes you feel better my family spent a substantial portion of the night discussing how "poorly" I did on the LSAT. Good times.

Yes and I love it and I also eat pumpkin puree mixed with oatmeal a lot for breakfast so I'm sure I'd like it.PickledPanda wrote:It's yummy. Have you had a pumpkin spice frap form starbucks?gguuueessttt wrote: I've never had pumpkin pie.
