Think about it like this-- you're getting a second chance to make hundreds of thousands of dollars (between scholarships and career gains) for retaking a 4 hour test.

Dude, that actually made me feel better about bombing June, haha.

Lunch break. Didn't miss any additional RC. Missed one LR, but, in typing out why I didn't get why an answer was the answer, I realized that I misinterpreted said answer.

Drilling RC has made me feel better about it. In the same way doing packets of LG over and over made LG less scary, RC seems more methodological now. I recommend this style of drilling to anyone else who has been struggling. Packets of 4, 35 minutes max, reviewing incorrect answers.

The RC packets that you do, are they just the full section taken from a PT? Or do you match up the packets by subject?

Slated to take it in September, may do December if not comfortable with how I'm scoring/fairing by August 10th...

Early observations (I've so far just been reading the RC Bible) - Doing RC --> LG --> LR is a great pattern, as my early observations are that Logical Reasoning is a combo of Reading Comprehension and Logic Games. I really like the Logic Games section, and Reading Comp (my work experience is in investment research, so I'm used to reading boring, dense stuff). Logical Reasoning will give me the most trouble.

Haha, full sections by PT would probably make more sense. What I actually did was take the RC packets from Cambridge, and make my own packets with corresponding difficulty levels. For instance, if one packet includes the hardest science passage, it will probably include the easiest humanities passage, or something like that.

For me, probably by the end of the month. I really want to get through 7sage's curriculum, and to save time, I'm only quickly skimming/brushing up on things that I'm fairly good at while doing their full lessons for things I've always had problems with.

Ahh interesting. I usually just do the RC section from a PT, but you're way better at RC than me so I may use 7sage's question bank thing to differentiate passage difficulties and make my own packets. I feel like no matter how I approach RC (getting to know the subject, by structure, etc.), I can't seem to get my head straight when reading a science passage.. They're just so, ugh lol.

Congrats! Cannot wait to finally be at that point myself.
I'm just starting to go through the Manhattan materials, so however long it takes me to finish, as well as do some drilling after every chapter. I'm thinking by early August I should be able to move on to PTs. I wish it were sooner, but I had a slow start with logic games. I figure it is in my best interest to get to where I am comfortable with those before moving on to LR/RC. However, now that I am getting a little better with games, I am going to start going through the MLSAT LR this week.

So hopefully by early next month. I'm just taking it slow and steady and if I have to retake, so be it. Daddy needs his 170+

Opinions....

Does anyone on here think it is worth going through the Powerscore Logic Reasoning book or should I just go straight for the Manhattan Logical Reasoning book. Asking because I found it helpful to go through the Logic Games bible before going to the MLSAT Logic games. Not sure if it is worth it with LR though?

I did it more out of convenience than anything else.

Science was my worst as well. Just trying to forget it's science, and pretend you're super interested in it. Typically, science passages are simple enough to distill down into a principle or two, which the passage will ask you to apply a lot. So like, understanding "evolution makes animals die, not adapt" may solve 3-4 questions.

PS LR and MLR and much more similar books than are PS LG and MLG, so I wouldn't think it worth it and you may very well waste a lot of time doing that. they are both very good books and you can't go wrong with either. if you read all of the Trainer, going to Manhattan seems like the right move in my opinion. for a beginner or someone who feels like their LR skills still needs foundational work, it could be argued that PS would be better. so how do you feel you are with LR right now? if you think your LR skills are just terrible, PS MIGHT be a safer option because I do think Manhattan is a bit more advanced. I wouldn't think you're at that level though since you did read the Trainer! :D

edit: one important thing to note, I think, is that Manhattan uses much harder questions in their books than PS does. so some might feel like they aren't making progress with Manhattan when they actually are!

Awesome. Thanks! Yeah, I went through the Trainer this past month, so I have a decent foundation of LR. I need to brush up one some skills, but I more or less have the basics down. Probably best to just go to MLR and skip the PS LR. I just feel like I wasted money on it now, lol.

Yeah, I just need to practice with them more. Practice RC in general more, that is. Bro, in my RC experimental section for June there was this chemistry passage and you have no idea how ZONED THE FUCK OUT I was, hahahaha.

I think you could still benefit from it. if you read a chapter from M and don't understand the question type well or need another way of learning it, use PS. I improved a lot using PS the first time I studied!

I'm moving myself soon. Probably within the next couple weeks. What a pain, but my new place is going to be a lot bigger and nicer, so that's always something cool to look forward to. (My own study space rather than on the kitchen table!)

I feel ya on it being another unproductive day. I am actually taking it easy this weekend. I've been having symptoms of burnout. I think I went for 3 weeks straight without a day off. Tomorrow I'm going to put in 4 hours or so, and same on Sunday. Monday I will start putting in 6 hours or so again.

Sounds like you got a good plan on moving forward though. Sweet! Congrats on completing your move and have a good night :)
Thank you!! :) Yeah, this place is a bachelor as opposed to a 4 bdrm, so no roommates, which should be optimum for productivity, plus much closer to the gym (almost across the street aww yiss), campus, library, work, grocery store.

I hope your move goes well! Your own study place should be a big plus. :D

Totally know what you mean - I can't remember the last time I didn't do any lsat work. Taking it easy this weekend sounds like a good plan (if just 4 hrs a day is taking it easy :P ) Burn out is definitely something to avoid!

One resolution I've made to myself is I will get a 1 bedroom for law school. This makes scholarships and cheap COL schools all the more important. Haha

Tbh, I think having at least 1 roommate can be nice for when you're not in the books. Obviously you can make friends in law school, but having that person that you can hang at home or go out somewhere with can be nice as opposed to living alone.

I really want to build this level of comfort with the test. When you first started LG how long did it take you to get through an average 5 or 6 question game? I find my speed is slowly improving with LG, but I am concerned.

I'm a hardcore introvert, so I can't really relax unless I'm alone or with my SO.

Ahh, yeah I get you. Everyone is different, and I guess some people prefer to live alone or don't mind a roommate. Personally, I'd like to have a roommate during LS, as long as it's someone who understands the commitment needed for LS and isn't a huge distraction when unneeded.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
