Also SCOTUS releases new opinions at 10 - maybe Obamacare today? They've only got three days of releasing opinions left (today, Thursday, and next Monday), and Obamacare and the gay marriage one are still outstanding, in addition to a bunch of others. Fingers crossed for a big ruling today to keep me busy at work!

Yeah part of what I do is summarizing cases that might be interesting to our board of directorsbasedvulpes wrote:Do you work at a place where the decisions actually create work for you? If so I will be so jealous.
Most people at my office don't really care so I have to contain my excitement and can't ditch my work for the day just because crazy shit is going on in the world. I had an internship in DC where I could justify spending time watching press conferences and stuff and it was wonderful.

I intern in a legislator's office and it'll probably pick up when the decisions come out. I wasn't gonna comment on this because I don't have anything to add but I couldn't let something this hilariously written pass by in the thread without any comments. Just gonna say I lol'dWhnlifegvsulmns wrote:I finally have a story to corroborate what I thought were trolls looking for attention on this site. I saw a post that someone was talking about how grades don't matter in law school, all you have to do is pass your classes and the bar. Holy moly, it happened to me this weekend. A relatttive (by marriage) was ttalking about how a member of her family (by blood) was going tto a comm. coll. and looking attt ttthe regional TTTt for law school. Apparently someone told this girl that grades don't matttter, all you have to do is "get your C's and pass the test to be able to practice...whatever it's called". I sat there nodding my head like an idiot because I literally didn't have the words.

That's not too far off, it could happen. More likely than me having done moderately well on the lg section. hahatexasaggie10 wrote:I hope it does too!! For both of us!! Well I was so throttled by the fact that it genuinely happened that I just had to share it with my TLS-elitist friends, of which I fear I am becoming.whacka wrote:

Re: The Official June 2015 Waiter's Thread
I want to move back home to Florida, but there are so few schools that I would consider. When I took the test, the girl next to me was shooting for Florida Coastal, someone else was talking Nova Southeastern. My parents are trying to convince me to move home (I'm in Maryland now) and go to Nova.benwyatt wrote:My favorite thing is when people who never went to law school and don't realize how important law school rankings are try to convince me of the merits of a regional school.
People who aren't in the "know" don't get it.
FSU, UF, or Miami. Those are my options if I don't stay in Maryland. I looked yday for the hell of it and Coastal isn't even ranked.

My local regional school is T1 and it still only has 50% employment... these are the stakes, people.benwyatt wrote:My favorite thing is when people who never went to law school and don't realize how important law school rankings are try to convince me of the merits of a regional school.
