I know none of us are experts, but what do you guys think are the chances of a bigger curve than October. I'm kinda freaking out about the cancelation deadline and might cancel

Any curve difference would not be more than +/- 2 points, and if that's what your decision to cancel hangs on, then you probably shouldn't. Unless, again, you feel you completely bombed.

I didn't vote in that curve poll but it shows a heavy leaning towards -12. How reliable are these curve polls?

Top 150, so they got 180s? Good for that fourth guy who took the test for them. If I was taking an LSAT illegally and transmitting answers to Hawaii via pager I think my nerves would have gotten in the way. How did they get caught? Did the proctor write them up for their pagers or was that not illegal until after this stunt?

I would hate to be the lawyers that actually defended these guys. Seems like a black list invite.

And even if these guys weren't caught then, would it still have been worth it? Suppose there is someone out there who has cheated into HYS, graduated, and is living the good life. I wonder if they could sleep comfortably at night knowing that everything could come crashing down at any moment.

Yeah I bet there was come internal conflict there. I like to think that they wouldn't have been able to hack it at HYS. That they would have gotten caught cheating on a test or just couldn't apply themselves to anything legitimate.

Not sure, but she explicitly mentioned taking first time Feb scores... so it seems like they'd accept a retake then?

It seems like the number of testers should at least marginally affect the wait time, and anecdotal evidence sure points to there being many fewer test takers this administration than at least October, and possibly last December.

I am also a lurker and a very nervous LSAT test taker. I made a huge technical error in the LR section with the throwback question. Outside of that I did very well. I am trying to decide if I should cancel and I cannot get a hold of my instructor. Thoughts?

I wouldn't look too much into any such possible correlations, especially not during this admin in which LSAC will start a week-long vacation a mere 10 days after delayed exams are taken.

Agreed, the number of factors affecting score release is likely very high. I suppose this question gets back to the question of what happens between running scantron sheets through the reader and score release. Obviously there will be A) issues with individual test sheets (e.g. test sheet folded/wrinkled, someone used #3 pencil, etc.), and B) general practices that do not depend on individual tests (e.g. QA/QC of the overall testing population, etc.). My question is getting at how much of the wait is due to A vs. B. And if it's 50% of each, and A drops by 50% would that result in a score release date of 1 week earlier.

Obviously, 1) there's probably no way to know what the man behind the curtain is doing, 2) the 1 week break throws a big wrench in trying to understand any of this, and 3) scores will be released when they are released. But since we have a while to think about what's going on in LSAT-land, and I'm currently procrastinating on the revisions for my manuscript that I have to get back to the editor next week, I figured I'd engage in some baseless speculation.
