Yeah, I was really bummed out about my scoring. However, after reviewing intensively yesterday (would you believe I spent the entire day on 7 questions!?) I began seeing patterns in my flawed reasoning. For example, one of my issues was misinterpreting the question and answer choices. I'm going to thoroughly review weaken and strenghten questions in my LR notebook this week.jeremydc wrote:I haven't gotten to strengthening questions yet but usually on the difficult questions I note down reasons why/why not an answer choice is incorrect. Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group
How bad off will I be by starting my LSAT study in June? I have way too many units this spring quarter to fit in LSAT study. But I'll have the entire summer to study full time, from June 13th-Sept.24. Is three months adequate enough time for someone brand new to the LSAT? I'll be using LSAT Trainer and LG Powerscore. I plan to study M/W/F, 4-6 hours a day, and PT every weekend.
You guys are just making me nervous with all this studying so many months in advance.

Have you taken a diagnostic? If so, what was it? Personally, I've been studying since the beginning of January but plan to take in June. I also have a heavy course load right now but it's nothing that I can't manage along with my LSAT prep. Start right now to be honest, at least familiarize yourself with some things such as sequencing games to start yourself off if you don't think you can do LSAT prep while taking classes.O.J. wrote:How bad off will I be by starting my LSAT study in June? Thanks. I will have a few hours every weekend until the summer to study, so I think I'll work through Powerscore LG and the Blueprint RC book on the weekends. Then start LSAT Trainer in June full-time until September. Hopefully that works, so I'm not rushed this summer.

Why do you think that's best? I wanted to do the Trainer last since I will work the most hours on it. I'll only have a couple hours a week until June, so I thought the bibles would work best. No?proteinshake wrote: start with the Trainer THEN go into the Bibles.

well the Bibles are a LOT more thorough than the Trainer when it comes to question types. I feel like it'd make more sense and be less confusing to move from the general and broad material (Trainer) the the more detailed and thorough (Bibles).O.J. wrote:Why do you think that's best? Ok so I'm registered with Kaplan starting next week until June 1st... Do you think it would be a good idea to enroll in another prep course in the summer? Obviously I'm looking for a prep course that can focus on drilling only, if they even have that option. What do you all think? Have you all heard of anything like this?

Don't know much about Kaplan but the general consensus is Kaplan is crap. Either way, it's better than nothing.
Drilling- Cambridge Bundles are recommended. I'm sure you can supplement it with programs like 7Sage/TestMasters/ BluePrint.

What I'm wanting to know is if these programs offer something that focuses solely on drilling, since I would not want to take a prep course that starts from scratch, you know what I'm saying? I'm looking for a prep course that offers more advanced prep I guess...jeremydc wrote:cgra1916 wrote:Ok so I'm registered with Kaplan starting next week until June 1st... I feel ya! I'm not really going to get underway until early May. But I have already read through powerscore LG and most of LR (over last summer) and taken a diagnostic, but that's not saying much, I'm pretty much at the beginning of prep.O.J. wrote:

My progression so far:
1. PT 67: 157 for a cold diagnostic
2. Reviewed it with LSAT Hacks
3. PT 68: 162
4. Went through the Trainer
5. PT 52: 165
Still a long way to go.

I don't think the type of course you want is offered. I've heard of some instructors fixing up the schedules according to students' interests but that's usually if the class is VERY small, I believe. If you have the money to bang out on two prep courses, why not get a private tutor after your first course?cgra1916 wrote:What I'm wanting to know is if these programs offer something that focuses solely on drilling, since I would not want to take a prep course that starts from scratch, you know what I'm saying? Would you say the Blueprint RC book is worth getting if I already have Manhattan RC and Trainer?TheMikey wrote:Blueprint's RC book is great! Well I've never gone through Manhattan's RC book, and I have the trainer but didn't use it for RC tbh. If you have your own set way of going through RC that you're COMFORTABLE with, then maybe another RC approach isn't for you if you're doing well in RC. But if you want a new RC method, I think that Blueprint's RC book is GREAT because the way they break everything up makes so much sense.ngogirl12 wrote:Would you say the Blueprint RC book is worth getting if I already have Manhattan RC and Trainer?TheMikey wrote:Blueprint's RC book is great! Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group
I've read Manhattan RC and it's really good. that being said, I didn't see much improvement after using it, and that might be because it's so short and I also kinda rushed through it near the end of prep (and didn't drill with it). you can read it in just a few days and if you don't feel like it helped and are not doing so hot in RC, maybe give BP a try? I got the BP book as well but haven't started it yet.ngogirl12 wrote:Would you say the Blueprint RC book is worth getting if I already have Manhattan RC and Trainer?TheMikey wrote:Blueprint's RC book is great! Hopefully I improve that much after just going through the trainer. I took a diagnostic of 158 and am trying to hit 168/169.CottonHarvest wrote:My progression so far:
