Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
Miracle, what works for you might not work for other people. I've tried two tests a day before; by the second section of test 2 I'm barely reading the questions any more. I'd rather dedicate my (admittedly limited) attention to one test every few days than spread it out over two a day.
Oh, and 180 on PT 21 today (four sections, -1 on RC). I plan to do one 5-section test a week between now and the test, on Saturdays at 8:30 to get a feel for performing that early.

What's the secret with RC?

I suspect 2 PTs per day probably will be too much for me, but i am going to try it to know for sure. Good job on the 180! You, definitely have no right to think of rescheduling. Keep up the focus!acadec wrote:Miracle, what works for you might not work for other people. Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
knowing all the methodology + practice should speed you up from 20mins per game to about 8 (of course some games take 5, some 10). That was my experience FWIW.UCSD1984 wrote:Quick question for you all - When you first started doing Logic Games (for the first time say AFTER you figured out some diagramming strategies), did it take you about 15-20 minutes to complete 5-6 questions for an easy Game, and about 25-40 minutes to complete 5-6 questions for a more difficult game? I'm curious to know since now that I'm coming back to Logic Games, it's taking me quite a long time to finish just 1 game. It seems as though I'm ages away from completing a game in under 9 minutes. However, the bright side is I almost always get all the answers correctly (but I think anyone would if they were allowed that much time on one game).

Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
UCSD, yes even after going through the LGB and taking a Blueprint class it still took me a LONG time to get through games. Until recently, I could only get through 3 games in a section when taking PT's. A couple of pages ago(?) I talked about how Eugenie's tips on LG helped me out a lot.

took a four section pt today- hit my highest score yet. Up 12 points from my diagnostic. Thought I was stuck in a certain range for a while. Thinking i am going to a do a min. of 10 games a day. They are by far my weakest point.

Nice! Games are (were?) my weakest point but doing them over and over has REALLY helped.xyzzzzzzzz wrote:took a four section pt today- hit my highest score yet. Up 12 points from my diagnostic. Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
My motivation is still lacking.
Sigh.
I'm still reviewing mistakes from PT 52 that I took... three days ago? Haven't been able to convince myself to take another one. I don't know why I can't focus -- I was so excited about the LSAT last week and now I'm feeling very "blah."
We only have a month till the test. I cannot afford to be burnt out like this.
/frustration.

I agree with Miracle. You need to clear your mind/distract yourself in a positive way. Gym/yoga is what usually works for me. One thing that surely DOESN'T help is TLS. Get off!vissidarte27 wrote:My motivation is still lacking.

I can't help but wonder. Every book I read tells me it's useless to read the directions because they are just repeated. I can't help but wonder what would happen if LSAC fucked with us and in the directions it said "Fill in every bubble as C and you'll earn a 180". Kind of farfetched, but fun to think about.

166 on June 2008 PT. Logic Games seemed much easier and I got a -2 on the section, which is about 2 or 3 less then i usually get wrong, and one was on a misbubble, pretty excited, about that. LR 1 -5 and LR 2 -3, RC-4. My Reading comp can vary so much between -0 to -5, but I will be pretty darn happy if I can manage to consistently get in the -3 to -5 range or less on LR.

Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
Took PT 53 today, December 2007 and it was kind of miserable. RC kicked my ass in a big, big way.
LR1: -5
LG: -2
LR2: -4
RC: -10!!!
Raw score of 79, scaled score of 162. Yikes!!
I hate having RC as a 4th section -- at that point my brain is so dead that I have a really hard time focusing. I prefer something else (like LG) that is a little more autopilot-y towards the end.
I'm still working in the newer tests, and there's still a big difference between my PT scores between the 30s and 50s. We're talking a ten-point discrepancy, here, which is kind of terrifying. But I think I'll adjust -- my LR and LG scores were better today than they were in PT 52, and I didn't do RC in PT52 so I think that contributed to my crappy RC score.
Anybody have any awesome tips for endurance besides repetition? I get fuzzy midway through the third section almost without fail.

quick question - I don't know why i'm stuck on this but how does A some not B -> C translate to A some C?
What happens to the not?

The not doesn't matter here because it is a some statement. Just try to visualize it. If there are some A's that are not B's and some not B's that are A's and all not B's are C's. Then you know that some A's are C's.
AA
B/B/B/B/B/
C C C C C
There is an overlap and you can see for yourself when you draw it out like this that some A's are C's.
