Can someone tell me if LR2 was significantly harder than LR1? I got like an extra 6 questions wrong compared to my LR average on LR2. It's really weird because I remember thinking it was easier than LR1 so maybe I fucked up because of stamina? (it was the last section)

I scored about equally on LR1 and LR2 on this one. Something I have noticed, and idk if this is a continuous trend, but it seems like the first LR section seems to be easier than the second, and that could very well be more mental fatigue settling in than actual difficulty. LR definitely requires mental strength and patience, so it could be more that going through a PT your more fatigued at that point.

Luckily this coincides with law school exams for my friends (or grad school final papers and such) so everyone around me is just a big ol' ball of stress :D (except my co-workers who have no clue that i have any intentions of leaving and going to law school).

ahhhhh you are much smarter than me. i let slip my intentions and my coworkers all transformed into hyperbitches.
You just got to walk in every day with a big ol' smile on your face lol

i found LR2 much harder than LR1. LR1 felt really easy. LR2 dragged and the prompts seemed more convoluted. I think I got 2 wrong and finished the section with hardly a minute to spare.

like vic, i've been getting the vibe in the 60s that LR2s are harder than LR1s, but it's hard to know if it's not just fatigue setting in.

One last RC drilling for the night. It wasn't necessarily the best case scenario but I ended working through PT 8's RC section and scoring -3. I just have run out of material (that i own at least, I'll probably print out a few more RC sections tomorrow at the library) to actually work with so I'm going through any all materials that are still "fresh", and that happened to be one of them.

Obviously much different though.

Alas, my day is done. Tomorrow is another rise and grind.

thanks, guys. I also thought the first passage of PT 66 was annoying and hell!

PT 60 (a retake, technically my third time with the material but it had been about 2.5 months since I've seen it last)

LR (ex.) - 4 (from PT 61, kind of went off the rails 18 thru 20, but rallied).
LR#1 - 3
LG - 1 (q. 13 got me somehow, i'm not sure how).
LR#2 -2
RC - 2(!!!!!)

Yes I've seen this before, but in all honesty the RC section felt foreign to me in terms of the questions asked. Probalby having familiarity with the passages was a contributing factor but at least I can do it if i just buckle down. Overall, I know this is probably not the MOST indicative, but given that this was my diagnostic, moving from 147 to 173 feels like something important to me.

Will review and keep on drilling RC tonight. t-6 days....go dolphins.

PT63 today. LG: -3 RC: -3 LR1/2: -5/-5 "Experimental" LG: -1. Scaled 166. Ughh I'm fine on blind reviews and untimed with LR, but every hole I patch another opens while testing. I think I spent too much time on older LR tests/sections since the newer LRs feel different to me. Oh well, I'm just going to beast through my remaining materials with as heavy review as possible this week :D .

You're taking the week off? I was considering this at first but given how rusty i became after only 3 days off I kind got scared out of it.

Also, sucks about the car, but could be a great excuse to miss work!

AHH. Lucky! I wish I could miss work. I don't have vacation days so its impossible for me. Oh well, I'll probably just try and not do anything that will require a lot of effort this week.

PT 68's LG absolutely sucked. I did the first two games in 8 minutes and then got slapped in the faced by the third and punched in the gut by the fourth. The third one was easy, just time consuming which made the last one much more difficult.

I am still having trouble with RC, -5. LR gave me more trouble than usual too. Maybe it is just an off day...hopefully.

I will probably go over RC and see where I am missing information and see if I can adjust what I underline. I felt confident that I did better than usual which kind of sucks. I will probably redo the RC passages from 63-68 tomorrow and see if that helps for 69 on Wednesday.

Has anyone had where you see a -8 or -9 point drop on a PT every so often? I had four good ones then a terrible one, four good, another bad PT. Trying to figure out what was common to the bad ones and hopefully avoid it, but just curious for some input.

I know personally that I could get complacent after a string of good ones.

if it makes you feel better, 68 game 4 is notoriously brutal. plenty of ppl think its one of the hardest games ever due to the sheer difficulty of finishing in less than 15 minutes.

game 3 is much easier if you set it up vertically
That does make me feel better.

I just went over my RC and made some very silly mistakes. 2 of my wrong errors were identify questions that were written out exactly in the passage. I need to be more careful when I read.

Every once in a while I'll come out of a LR or RC section completely confused. I think the solution is to not let the test get too second nature to you. Focus on your thought process and concentrate on how you're answering questions to keep strategies in your head.

PT70 first LR section, question 23 (the one about democracy)

Is "promptly" the key word that separates (A) and (E)? They seem to have the same logical structure otherwise. At first I thought it was "a" and "any" that separated them but that mismatch doesn't seem to have an impact.

Hi December takers! Good luck on Saturday! I posted this in the Retakers thread last night, but thought I'd post it here for the non-retakers ITT (apologies to people who saw this twice) in case it's helpful to anyone.

This is what I did for the week prior to October (everyone is different, obviously, but this is what worked for me):
Saturday: Visited test center (couldn't take it at the test center because the rooms were locked and it was super creepy inside the building), took PT 62 (178), worked out.
Sunday: Reviewed 68, watched 7Sage LG videos, very minimal LG drilling (like a game or two), worked out.
Monday: Took PT 69 (only got a 173), reviewed it, and worked out.
Tuesday: No LSAT whatsoever, worked out.
Wednesday: No LSAT whatsoever, worked out.
Thursday: Took off work, took PT 61 (175), reviewed some of it (never ended up reviewing the LRs-oops), and got a massage.
Friday: Took off work. Watched the 7Sage videos for PT 61 LG mid-day (intended to do this in the morning, but it ended up being later in the day than I had hoped) and worked out.

Most of all, I focused on destressing and taking good care of myself the week leading up to the test.

Unlike some people who recommend getting less sleep than normal two nights before the test (with the idea being that you'll be tired enough to fall asleep easily the night before the test), I focused on trying to get at least 7.5 (preferably 8+) hours of sleep every night the week before the test, because I knew I might have trouble sleeping the night before the test due to nerves (which ended up being the case-I'm prone to insomnia anyway). I am VERY glad I structured my sleep this way, because I feel like getting sufficient sleep the week prior significantly lessened the impact of insufficient sleep the night before (though I probably still got around 6 hours), and I think I would've had even more trouble sleeping if I had been sleep-deprived from the previous night (because then the pressure to get enough sleep that night would've been even worse than it already was). I also worked out a lot to lower my stress level/boost brain function, and ate lots of healthy (but not novel) food.

The morning of the test, I woke up, did some yoga/worked out for about 30 minutes, showered, and ate breakfast. I had intended to do 2-3 games as warmup before I left my house, but ran short on time, so I brought them with me to do in my car if I had extra time after I parked. I ended up only doing like half a game before I got too worried I wasn't going to get to the test center (like a 10 minute walk from where I parked) in time to pee before the test started. Moral of the story? Even if some little things don't go right on test day, it's not the end of the world.

Also, I practiced mindfulness (while studying, at the gym, at work-wherever) in the weeks leading up to the test. I know it might sound like some weird hippie nonsense, but seriously, I think it really helped me not become distracted or panicked during the test itself. Being mindful gave me the discipline to stay focused on exactly what I was doing on the test right at that moment, and not on the proctors walking around or the people tapping their pencils or noises in the hallway or thoughts like "ZOMG I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO DIAGRAM THIS GAME AND I'LL NEVER GET INTO LAWL SCHOOL NOW."

Anyway, sorry for the rambling. If you have questions, please feel free to ask!

Also, I would add that one thing that was really key for me was learning when to accept that I needed to move on from a particular question/game and come back to said problematic question/game only if time permitted. I had to do this with game 3 in October (the theaters game)-if I had stubbornly stayed working on it until I was confident of every AC, I probably would've ran out of time to do game 4 properly (which was an easy game, and I would've lost a bunch of gimme points). Instead, I moved on to 4, finished it easily, and was able to go back to 3 and finish the questions that had given me trouble without panicking or running out of time.

this only happened to me once, when i took my one and only 40s PT after taking only 50s/60s. are your bad PT scores from older tests? newer tests? are the missed q's only in one section?
I usually get -1 or 0's on logic games and this time diagrammed one totally wrong b/c I got going too fast and didnt finish reading the main structure. Ended up not finishing and getting -5
I missed 8 on one of the LR sections, when I usually never do worse than -3/4. Other two sections were more in line.
Been doing progressively newer tests though.
Think, as others mentioned, I might've gotten complacent or flying through some I thought were "easy" and not adhering to the process and reading carefully as I should have

PT 66 today

RC -2
LR1 -4
LG -2
LR2 -3

Raw 90
Scaled 170

Really happy with my RC performance but felt that I missed some EASY points in LR.
