Nice. What kind of pasta do you eat (regular, whole grain, etc.)? I've gotten into the habit of having whole grain pasta if I do in fact have pasta, since it's (better???? I might be wrong) than regular pasta.proteinshake wrote:probably just a bunch of side ingredients -- brown rice, lentils, and probably pasta.TheMikey wrote:Watcha gonna cook, bro?proteinshake wrote:today's my off day from the LSAT and I never know what to do with my free time anymoreprobably just gonna run a bunch of errands and cook a bunch of food for the following week.

Out of curiosity, how many LORs did/will you guys request?
I have two and don't want that to be the dealbreaker when everything else is taken care of...
I would work on untimed, accuracy-centric first, as I am with LR.
and "diagnostic -> test day" really isn't "started from the bottom -> still there."

Have yet to dive into RC either. Only read a passage or two from the SuperPrep intro. IIRC, got 1/6 correct? *smh*Barack O'Drama wrote:Sounds like your progress is still going and getting even better!
Nice work, iplaw.
As for RC, do you think it is better to start untimed and work on accuracy first? I started doing a little actual RC studying today for the first time and missed 2 questions on the first passage I did timed. I guess it would make sense to figure out how to read for the correct structure untimed while I'm learning. RC is the one section I haven't touched. The good news is that I am following a schedule now to give me some structure, so I'll be doing a bit of everything from now until I begin doing just PTs.

I've never heard French rap before. Any recommendations? Perhaps it's time I upgrade from KRAP to FRAPPE.34iplaw wrote:Not gonna lie... I kind of really like some french rap, and I don't speak french.

Speaking LOR, I didn't get mine yet. I need to email my professors and kind of don't want to bother them during the summer. But, whatever, I am just going to email them next week and explain and ask. I know it is proper form to ask in person, but I'm a plane flight away from my UG currently, and they know me well enough. Hopefully an email with everything they need will suffice.Deardevil wrote:Out of curiosity, how many LORs did/will you guys request?

ETA: I'm requesting 2. I was going to do 3, but every place I'm applying seems like 2 is the way to go. I might get a Yale specific one from a professor I had who taught at Yale, even a course at the law school. So I'm hoping that might help? If I decide to do that, then 3 LORS.

I have only requested 1 so far but I have this other professor in mind, but have yet to contact her. But a total of 2 I believe is the norm for LS admissions.Deardevil wrote:Out of curiosity, how many LORs did/will you guys request?

Enjoy your well-deserved day off Proteinshake. Don't even crack a damn book open, next thing you know you'll be studying for 3 hours, haha.
Think if your day off as part of avoiding burnout

Okay, phew. I mean, I can always resort to one more professor, but it's been a while since the class ended;
I just see him around a lot, and we'd always greet each other. Wish I had better relationships with teachers lol.
Thanks!

That's a huge advantage of taking in June and I kinda wish every test would be given at that time. For those who aren't morning people, what are you doing to make sure you're at 100% by 8:30?
Edit: Or however long it takes you to wake up. You may want to figure out what time you need to be up for your LSAT and start working on being up at that time every day.
I removed all the blind for that reason. I'll start getting up earlier closer to test day, but it's literally impossible for me to sleep past 7:30 with how bright this room gets.
Yeah - it's actually nice. It feels way nicer to wake up to the sun rather than an alarm clock. Note: it may not work as well as when it's cloudy, and I slept like nine or ten hours last night.

Time to get back to it today!
I've lost some traction in the since Monday... But my motivation is back and I'm ready to put a good day of work in.
Think today I am going to read some prep material and drill ordering and grouping games. I am also going to be drilling a section or two of LR. I am starting to build everything together, and while I am far from where I need to be, I am feeling much closer to my goals.
2 months and 23 days left until the September administration. Think of all the things you've learned to do great with ~3-months of practice and trust your work-ethic and abilities

@BarackODrama - I think accuracy first is always most important. With reading comp, I was already scoring pretty high, and, if I worked only on speed, I don't think I'd ever improve. On my diagnostic, I finished the RC section like 3:30 early with -4, so I'm not really concerned about actual speed. It's just more about confidence in answer choices for me. I wouldn't spend a half hour reading each passage, but I don't see an issue taking 15 minutes with a passage to start. I probably take about 15 minutes a passage this way, but I make sure to have a reason to eliminate every wrong answer.Barack O'Drama wrote:Speaking LOR, I didn't get mine yet. @DearDevil - I think that's the right approach. That leaves a lot of room for improvement.
@Both - One thing that has helped me is how to approach RC questions...RC questions are like 80%+ MBT or MBT in 99.999% of circumstances.
@FrenchRap - I don't really listen to too much of it, but I like Stromae and Maitre Gims [probably the two most mainstream ones] and both teeter on sorority rap [pitbull, flo-rida, etc.]. Fun music more than anything. For actual rap, I've been really into Young Thug lately...I love the funky instrumentals in some of his songs.

Stromae is one of my favorites. I took french classes from 7th grade- senior year of college and ended up listening to a lot of French music! Alors on dance is my fav

Frustrating because this 167 feels so accomplished.

I mean, yeah...retake, esp. if you think you can do better. It won't hurt. A 167 is accomplished. You still scored in the 94th percentile. That's pretty nuts when you think about it. I think your distance / WE will help alleviate the GPA issue. In worst case, you may get in somewhere better to either attend or leverage for more $$$.HennessyVSOP wrote:Preparing for people to tear me apart in the "What Are My Chances?" forum over my shitty GPA.

Feeling pretty unmotivated today. Nasty weather. Pretty worn out. I think I'm going to sort of relax for a bit and do some errands. Maybe get a tie for wedding next weekend.
Haven't talked to professor in awhile, but we were pretty close. I'm thinking e-mail to see if he's free to meet should just be pretty short and succinct. I'll be up by him on pretty short notice, so I won't have everything totally ready so it's more of a 'hey whats up this is what I'm planning to do and I'll get this stuff to you ASAP if you're interested."

An 0L giving me terrible advice in the thread - one said that if I retook and got +175 it would hurt me because schools assume I "don't put forth 100% effort on the first go round with things."

LOFUCKINGL Haha! Completely asinine. I would say more than half of the people who score in the 97-99%-tile do so on their 2nd or 3rd attempts. Of course, this is anecdata, in that it is based off of friends, posters I know on here, and the internet-LSAT forums I frequent. But, still, I think that is insane and can't imagine what would lead to such a dumb statement--Even for a 0L ...
Thank god you aren't gullible or uninformed, Henny.
