For a PT I do it the following day. Sometimes I like doing individual sections though, and those I BR the same day.proteinshake wrote:do you all BR your PTs the same day or the day after you take a PT?

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
So I attempted to take PT 66 bright and early this morning.
I figured I could power through the headache and nausea that I woke up with to and take the PT.
After taking an extra 10 minutes on the first section (???), I decided to give it another shot this afternoon when/if I feel back on top of my game.

I make every effort possible to BR RC the same day that I take it.proteinshake wrote:do you all BR your PTs the same day or the day after you take a PT?
My main reason for this is that I like to remember what I was thinking when I selected a particular answer choice, and unless I am doing a same-day review, I will often have to reread the passage to get my mind back to where it was.

Interesting approach. I like to allow my mind to clear so that I can approach the test with a "fresh" perspective. In a way I think this is better (for me) because it reduces conscious/subconscious bias, but I don't think there's one right way to do it.YupSports wrote:I make every effort possible to BR RC the same day that I take it.proteinshake wrote:do you all BR your PTs the same day or the day after you take a PT?

I'm probably gonna BR the next day. last time I took the test I NEVER BR'd my PTs and pretty much made no progress in 2 months of only taking PTs after going through the Bibles and scoring in the high 160s. I didn't even know what BR was until it was too lateayylmao wrote:Interesting approach. I like to allow my mind to clear so that I can approach the test with a "fresh" perspective. another question: how much point improvement can you all reasonably attribute to Blind Reviewing your PTs? in other words, how much worse do you think you'd be doing if you didn't BR?

I've seen most improvement with BR in the harder (13ish-20ish) LR questions with abstract language, that I would usually always get wrong before. Due to BR, my LR score went from about -9 to -13, to around -3 to -6, for both sections combined. Still need improvement but BR has helped a ton honestly.proteinshake wrote:another question: how much point improvement can you all reasonably attribute to Blind Reviewing your PTs? in other words, how much worse do you think you'd be doing if you didn't BR?

175 on PTs 64 and 65. RC is still by far my least confident section and loses me the most points by far.

Looks like I'm taking 66 after work tomorrow.

Just took PT 71 this morning. Only BR'ed logic games so far and got 2 wrong. Not too bad, although my instincts about when to split still suck. I always think there are gonna be more possibilities than there are, and I miss some really earth-shattering, orgasm-inducing inferences.

I too am in the same RC boat.
176 ON PT 53 today:
LR1: -0 (34 min)
LG: -0 (28 min)
LR2: -0 (35 min)
RC: -5 (35 min)
Rough curve (there were no 177's, so 1 more right would've jumped me to 178)
Has anybody ever sealed the gap between missing 5 and -1,-2? On most every PT, I'm consistently on pace for a timed 180 before the RC comes in and robs me. I'm fine missing a couple on test day, but am fearful that if I hit a super boring humanities passage it'll ruin me.

Oh I definitely haven't been lurking this entire time. Logged back in after a 10 year hiatus...surprised my password worked lol. I was pretty involved on these forums back when I last prepped in '06, but haven't picked up an LSAT since, until about a month ago. I'm in a group wager with several attorney friends of mine for the June LSAT. Winner take all, and a 180 gets double pay out, and a perfect 180 gets triple.

What're you doing with a 10-year-old account if you're studying for the LSAT now?lawpro82 wrote:I too am in the same RC boat.

I had a similar experience with pt 16. I split g2 and finished the game in 6 min. Didn't split g3 but it turned out that the possibilities were much less than I expected. took me around 13 min instead of around 8 min.ayylmao wrote:Just took PT 71 this morning. Just redid the LG from PT69 where I missed 5. With more time and less stress, went -0. Need to keep my cool and move quicker during the actual test.

Yo what the actual fuck happened to LR in the 70s?
I went from getting an average of -2.5 in the 50s and early 60s to -5 and -7 on PTs 70 and 71 without even suspecting that I was doing poorly, even on BR. Holy shit am I glad I'm taking these tests now and not later, because I honestly don't know how to figure out this difference and I'm not sure what to do to remedy it. Has anyone gone through something similar? I feel like the LSAC has completely pulled the rug out from under me and I didn't even realize.
Aaaanyway, PT 71:
173
LR: -7, LG -2, RC -2

Nothing happened to it IMO. No need to worry. Analyze the shit out of the questions, know why every wrong answer is wrong and why each CR is the CR, and you'll be fine.ayylmao wrote:Yo what the actual fuck happened to LR in the 70s?
