Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
Took PT 68 today, meh. I was going to call in sick to work to take this PT in the morning but I have an important meeting I have to go to that forced me to reconsider...I won't be able to pt this weekend so I crunched it in at night and definitely felt the effects.
RC - 5
LR#1 - 9 (bombed it babbyyyyyy)
LR#2 -1
LG - 0 (this was less tough and just a lot of brut forcing but i breezed through the first 3 to give myself enough time on the last).
Overall content with everything but that first LR section which I totally dropped the ball. This was otherwise a solid test outing, but I can't help but feel pretty shitty about that first LR section. ugh.

hang in there, you haven’t peaked yet! Reassess weaknesses, drill/fix, hit another PT.vicpin5190 wrote:Took PT 68 today, meh. Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
It's really weird, sometimes I'm really on and sometimes i'm really off, and this PT i had shades of both. I'm thinking that I may not have been fully warmed up because the 2 LR sections were back to back with 20 second break so I was pretty warmed up mentally by that point on the second LR. It was probably also an easier section vs. the first but -9 is inexcusable. Who knows. I'll keep drilling. I've been doing fine, a one off section isn't hampering my confidence.OVOXO wrote:hang in there, you haven’t peaked yet! Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
Took PT63 today:
LR1 went smoothly, which unfortunately cannot be said about LR2. Found LG to be pretty easy, but then I got to RC...
When I got to that 3rd passage after facing Kate Chopin, all I could think was WHAT IS THIS SHIT? Luckily, I half-guessed most of them right to pull off a 171, but I seriously hope nothing like this shows up in December.

That seems like a schedule primed for a burnout. I was doing 3 PTs a week, and started to feel the burnout. I've cut back significantly.... one to two PTs a week and constant drilling with extra focus on reading comp.bee wrote:3 pts/week, 16 games per day on my off days (hopefully). realistically, i'm probably way too lazy and unmotivated to stick to this schedule.Nicolena. wrote:How heavily are you guys drilling aside from PTing? took 63 last night. didn't allow myself blind review because there were still pencil marks from 2 years ago that i couldn't quite erase...didn't remember ANY questions though, seemed brand new.
got a 175 first time around. this time..
LR1 -1
LR2 -1
LR -0
RC -1
178.
don't even know if i should feel good about this. lol. i will say that it seemed verrrrrry easy, except for the passage about seafloor geology.

apparently the trick was to diagram out all of the different scenarios. According to 7sage, that's why they give so much space now. Deff a lot easier when you do it this way.
Edit: You know how there are certain old LGs people say you should look at, would this be the same for any other sections? Is there some weird strategy to a RC passage or a relevant LR from the older PTs?

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
All the older RCs are good practice IMO. As for LR... I think older Flaw, Parallel, and Inference family questions are still great for practice. Fallacies haven't changed, and MBT/MSS are all about what's on the page. But for me, NA/SA questions feel different on newer tests for some reason... Same with Strengthen and Weaken. Plus, Method AP and Justify are waay more prevalent on current LR sections.Nicolena. wrote:toshiroh wrote:I took October 2012 test(Zones slammed me). So I set out a few tests haha. EDIT: Going through some old PTs to look at sections to practice and curves. PT23 stood out: -16 for 170 -29 for 160 with a LR question removed from scoring. Anyone take this PT? I think I'll go through it today, even though I should be working on one of the copious newer exams I have.

For the zones game I simply followed rules for each local question, and I finished it in about 10 min. Not the best, but I don't know if diagramming all the scenarios is actually faster.

Took 2 days off. Mental break. I'm feeling more excited about the test again.

In hindsight maybe that was a bit excessive, but it went well enough.

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
I think I have been communing with the Logic Games gods too much lately. I had the uncontrollable urge to make this while I planned my PT schedule....
Over the course of 12 days, a student will take six prep tests: 64, 65, 66, 70, J07, and SPC. Only one prep test can be taken on any given day, and no test can be taken more than once. Some prep tests are fresh material, and some are repeats. The following conditions apply:
She will take tests on no more than two consecutive days.
No more than two consecutive days will pass without her taking a test.
She will not take a test on day 4.
70 must be taken on or before day 6.
J07 and SPC must be taken on days as far away from each other as possible.
She must take a test on day 3.
66 will be taken on day 10.
She will not take a test on day 12.
J07 is fresh material.
If 65 is taken on day 8, no test will be taken on day 9.
If 64 is fresh material, she will take 64 on day 8.

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
I'm debating not even taking the test and waiting until February. I definitely need more time to hit my goal, and I already have a bad score from 2011 so I don't want to mess anything up... I could be one of those people that gets lucky come test day but I also don't to chance it...
Wondering if I should take it / cancel my score or just sit it out and register for February... ugh! I'm still going to apply this cycle for the hell of it... but still :/

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
Depends how far away you are from your goal, and how far that is from your previous score... I'd say if you're only 2-3 points away from your goal then go for it this December, and if you're not pleased with your scored retake in June.alecks wrote:I'm debating not even taking the test and waiting until February.
