Its pretty cool that I've gotten a few pt's that are higher than my highest PT from my studying for the September test (173).
Also LR 2 felt super hard for some reason, LR2 Q 13 is like IMPOSSIBLE. I have no idea how this one makes sense. Probably one of the most obscure LR's I've ever seen maybe this one just doesn't click or something. I've never gone back over a question and in the second time through not understood why I got it wrong.![]()
Actually managed to get that specific question right when I took it. I'll try to explain:

With time narrowing down, what is everyone's plan for the home stretch? 3-4 PTs a week? Drill? Same thing you've been doing?
I'm just genuinely curious to see what everyone has in store.
I think I'll keep doing 3 PTs a week, and reviewing and doing games on days that I don't take a PT. Will take Thanksgiving off, since I'll be in D.C. with my SO, then treat that last week like a normal week and put LSAT stuff away starting Thursday at 5.

I'm finding it really helpful going through all the games sections from PT 1-20. Ton of weird, unusual games which helps with dealing with the curveballs the LSAT has been throwing us lately.

I think I've gotten to a comfortable point in my RC skills, and I'll focus in on LG to ensure a -0/-1 score. I'll also do some drill by type stuff for LR because I have a slight weak spot with flaw questions. Otherwise I'll stick with two PT's a week and drilling in between. For me, a big thing is to try not to change up the rhythm of my weeks too much, I want december 3rd to be just like any other saturday where I PT. For the last week I'll probably do the PT that I get the best score on, untimed to boost confidence. Also, probably this weekend and next weekend I'll do a super test of two tests taken one after the other just to build up stamina.Tazewell wrote:With time narrowing down, what is everyone's plan for the home stretch? 3-4 PTs a week? PT40 #15 anyone B vs D...explanation in Manhattan LSAT is kind of bad IMO... as they are basing D off lines 5-7 which is a huge stretch IMO.

I think it's partially that the core of the whole passage requires gravity in its explanation, so it would be reasonable to infer that the author thinks gravity is in necessary in any adequate explanation. What makes B the worse answer is that 5-7 actually states that cosmologists currently believe that gravity is the thing the binds everything together, so current theories actually know how everything is bound together they just don't know why we're missing so much of the matter in the universe. So the fact that gravity is the binding force in the universe is an underlying assumption throughout the entire passage, and actually if you look back through the passage, there doesn't seem to be a point in arguing that dark matter exists without assuming that gravity binds everything together. So 5-7 is a good place to look for why the answer D is correct but, you really need to have understood the passage to understand that D is going to be correct.34iplaw wrote:PT40 #15 anyone B vs D...explanation in Manhattan LSAT is kind of bad IMO... as they are basing D off lines 5-7 which is a huge stretch IMO.

I am slowly realizing that without these Cambridge packets, it's almost impossible to improve or focus on particular weaknesses of mine. What is the closest thing to Cambridge that is separated by question type?Mikey wrote:Going to continue doing flaw questions today. did 25 yesterday (25/25, the easier ones at the beginning of the cambridge chapter). going to do maybe 50 more today, def. not finishing it all today since there's like 150 something flaw questions in that book.
after the next 50, i'm going to save the remaining flaw questions for drilling during other Q types. since flaw questions are pretty common, there's no harm in finishing it quick and not having fresh questions to drill, esp the harder ones.

I just drilled all of the MBT/MSS questions in PTs 1 and 2 (-2/20, timed conditions are screwing with me!).WWhitman wrote:I am slowly realizing that without these Cambridge packets, it's almost impossible to improve or focus on particular weaknesses of mine. They were a lot more basic and concise than the newer tests. Might help to build up your understanding if you move gradually from these to the newer tests. That's what I'm trying at least.

Well first things first, finally broke out the #2 pencils, and will continue to use those until test day. I always used mechanical in the past. Like you I will be taking Thanksgiving off. I have 7 fresh PT's left. So my general plan is:Tazewell wrote:With time narrowing down, what is everyone's plan for the home stretch? 3-4 PTs a week? Drill? Same thing you've been doing?

This Week:
-Drill Drill Drill the first half of this week (mainly RC and LR), take 2 PTs/Review the later half of this week, with a day of drilling in between.
Next Week:
-3 PT's/Review, space them out. On the days in between work on the "hardest" RC passages, LG games and, LR Questions.
-1 Writing section on Thanksgiving.
Week of the Test:
-2 PTs/Review, Tuesday and Thursday.
-Very light review the day before the test and writing section.
The general wisdom tends to be that unless you really struggle with writing basic arguments, then you do not have to practice. I am not concerned about writing ability or conveying arguments, I just want to have a sense of the timing as it pertains to making an outline and how much detail I can/cannot include for peace of mind.
I am also interested what others plans are.

I think one or two written sections is more than sufficient... many of us are out of the practice of frequent writing and I think it's important to do one or two just so it's something you don't even worry about.dj9i27 wrote:Just going to add my two cents, I'd skip the writing section in lieu of more RC or LR it's really straight forward on test day.SunDevil14 wrote:Well first things first, finally broke out the #2 pencils, and will continue to use those until test day. I'm taking it easy. Two PTs a week. I've been using previous LG sections on which I did poorly as extra 5th sections. I do RC practice with old exams as well. All pretty much to just maintain my skills. I think my issues are all mental at this point. I know I'm capable of getting the score I want, it's just a matter of not going manic on test day and having everything go out the window. I'm also reading a book I saw referenced on here titled, "Performing Under Pressure." Hoping it can help even just a little, because cracking under pressure is pretty much the recurring theme of my life.Tazewell wrote:With time narrowing down, what is everyone's plan for the home stretch? 3-4 PTs a week?
