A little off topic but under the Academic Summary Report, the schools are going to loom at the Cumulative GPA not the Degree (Summary) GPA, right?

I believe it specifies which each school looks at at least for their index on LSAC. I assume they see both though.action90 wrote:A little off topic but under the Academic Summary Report, the schools are going to loom at the Cumulative GPA not the Degree (Summary) GPA, right?

I was going to originally, but I might actually try to get a few out before Thanksgiving from what people have said about earlier = better chances. Basically schools that I'm above the 75% LSAT median and maybe a couple where I'm at the 75% median (because it seems like medians are going to be dropping again this year, which would place me at above 75% median).angels2fly wrote:Are you guys holding off all your apps till after december?

This sounds like a good game plan. If i were above or at the median I'd send for sure.melodygreenleaf wrote:I was going to originally, but I might actually try to get a few out before Thanksgiving from what people have said about earlier = better chances. Re: December 2013 Retakers
Oh that fear is real and definitely not irrational. Even if I'm above the 75% LSAT median, I'm still not going to apply unless mylsn gives me extremely good (near 100%) results. I'm mostly talking about schools I'm applying to only for scholarship negotiations because scholarships are generally larger when you apply earlier.bee wrote:i thought about this bc the only thing i dont have completed is my personal statement, but i didnt want to give them a chance to yp or ding me before i retook. i know thats a bit irrational, but hey.melodygreenleaf wrote:I was going to originally, but I might actually try to get a few out before Thanksgiving from what people have said about earlier = better chances. Re: December 2013 Retakers
I'm like you guys too...debating whether to throw in some apps now and some later and then how bad those effects might be after Dec retake (especially if the retake doesn't go well....sigh). Score is only good for regional schools though sigh, but Northwestern app is like 100 bucks if I don't apply by the 28th.
Also trying not to post too much except for some other threads that I felt I needed to do in order to get answers for application stuff because I want to save my 180 post! But when should I post my 180 post. DO I WAIT UNTIL Dec 7 TO DO IT?! ughhhh the stress is killing me.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
you guys got any comments or thoughts about PT 64? It’s the most recent PT i’ve taken and went 91/101 on it (LR −3, LR2 −2, LG −4 [personal worst], RCX −2, RC −1).
Thanks!
Thanks!

To be honest, it was just game 3. I don’t think I’ve seen a harder game. The bike game made dinos and bus seats feel like a walk in the park.bee wrote:looking back at my spreadsheet, it was a pretty standard test for me with a generous curve. what tripped you up specifically?OVOXO wrote:you guys got any comments or thoughts about PT 64? Re: December 2013 Retakers
PT 70 & (Oct Test)
LG: -0 (-1)
LR: -1 (-4)
LR: -1 (-2)
RC: -1 (-2)
98/101, 179. (92/101, 172)
LG - I obviously got overconfident. Had more than 5 minutes extra on the actual test but I still got -1. While on the retake I had less time to spare but got -0. Unfortunately I have no idea whether the -1 was from misbubbling, misreading, or just rushing. Ugh.
LR - The two I got wrong are two I got wrong in October so that's where I'll focus my LR studies on I guess. I definitely feel that PT70 LR is harder than a lot of the LR from previous tests maybe not in terms of # of difficult questions but overall difficulty. While nowadays I'm able to finish a LR section with 5 or more minutes to spare (and retakes with about 10 extra minutes), I had just about enough time to check my bubbles and maybe one question. The answers seem less obvious than usual imo. I really hope PT71 LR is easer.
RC - Thought it was easy on test day. Thought it was easy today. As long as there's no Dutch agriculture, I should hopefully be ok in December for RC.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
i applied to three schools so far, two I'm over/at 75th LSAT (i'm international student so my GPA cannot be taken literally) plus one I think sort of reach (no median LSAT published from class of 2016 and I am -2 from their 2012 median).
I got admitted to one safety school and the reach school. if i use my international GPA and my LSAT to predict my chance to get in, the results are 36% (Weak Consider) and 30% (Weak Consider).
First admission came just one day after my application became completed, the 2nd came last Friday.
Not to embarrass myself I will save the school names (considering any non T14 schools admissions are treated with "RETAKE" or "DON't GO").
So guys, really don't have to wait until law school predictor shows you a 90% chance of getting in....even with a 50% chance I would give it a go. numbers are not going up at all so don't hold on until January when lots of scholarships are taken...
of course the whole purpose i'm posting here is that i am going to retake and aim higher and higher. but i believe that you will feel good and will be calmer on December 7th if you have some offers and $$$ in hand already. That mentality is what we need to break curves.

Did you use law school predictor by any chance? I find it very inaccurate, especially in regards to splitters. mylsn/law school numbers seems to be TCR.kobe1020 wrote:I got admitted to one safety school and the reach school. if i use my international GPA and my LSAT to predict my chance to get in, the results are 36% (Weak Consider) and 30% (Weak Consider).

yeah the quoted results are produced by predictor..melodygreenleaf wrote:Did you use law school predictor by any chance? anyways i also used LSAC's own system, it predicted my chance at reach school in the range of 15%-30%...well...lucky these systems don't work well at least for me.

I think it's a combo of there just being more Oct takers in addition to the Oct takers being neurotic.vicpin5190 wrote:I'm not retaking, it's just my first time, but this thread is way more active than the December thread....I feel excluded.
