What type(s) of law is everyone interested in now?
Granted this may change when you actually start to study law, but I'm sure you all are curious about a certain few. I'm definitely interested in criminal defense...somewhat interested in civil litigation...also interested in corporate/corporate litigation. But like I said, I may change my mind. What about you guys?

Re: The Official February 2016 Waiter's Thread
I mentioned this before, but did anyone have a significantly more difficult time with RC further into the PTs (particularly with the late-60s and 70s)? I literally went from breezing through RC with only a few missed marks to barely being able to finish the passages and regularly missing more than 5. I didn't do particularly badly on the comparative passages, but they did take up more time and stress me out more, too, so I'm wondering if that's the main reason why the section as a whole felt harder.Shib26 wrote:RC was always my worst sectionMiamiHeat3 wrote: LSAC'S maintenance is scheduled for March 13th peeps.

Yes. In my opinion, they've gotten progressively more difficultwellitsover wrote:I mentioned this before, but did anyone have a significantly more difficult time with RC further into the PTs (particularly with the late-60s and 70s)? From 70 and on, the RC got extremely difficult. Except for the 2015 Dec RCAbbeyS wrote:Yes. I feel that the passages have gotten longer or more boring or difficult to digest or something. I don't find the questions themselves more challenging in later tests but I have a tougher time finishing on time.AbbeyS wrote:Yes. PI, but not sure what area yet. Defense is also one of my areas of interest, though.AbbeyS wrote:What type(s) of law is everyone interested in now?

Criminal law. But I've got a lot of people in my family that work in the DAs office in CA and their stories scare me...AbbeyS wrote:What type(s) of law is everyone interested in now?

I'm interested in Corporate law. I'm pretty sure this will be my choice, but you never know if I'll find another love in law school.lizzielemon wrote:Criminal law. I'm interested in criminal defense but tbh I don't really know exactly what I want to do. It kind of scares me that I don't know and I feel stupid when I say it but w/eAbbeyS wrote:What type(s) of law is everyone interested in now?

I'm all over the place but I'm really interested in international law, corporate law, or sports/entertainment law. I took an international law class studying abroad and loved it, but I do want to wait and see what I enjoy/where my talents lie once I'm actually in law school.MiamiHeat3 wrote:I'm interested in Corporate law. I think it's normal to be uncertain. That's why 1L offers classes in all the major areas so you can explore what you're good at/interested in. Now, if you were a 2L/3L and still didn't know what you were interested in, then that might be of some concern. But don't feel bad if you're not 100% sure right now. You have some time!RonnyDiniro wrote:I'm interested in criminal defense but tbh I don't really know exactly what I want to do. You guys...
I'm sitting here eating my cereal and in the midst of my cereal thoughts, I realized...
March is the month that will decide the rest of my life! ugh.
1. Score comes out
2. Decisions come out
3. Scholarships come out
I'm literally sitting here waiting for the rest of my life to happen.

Right now I want to do Real Estate/Land Use Law. But I fully expect that to change once I actually start school.AbbeyS wrote:What type(s) of law is everyone interested in now?

Yeah, the trajectory of my entire life will change over the next roughly 30 days, which I personally find exciting albeit pretty nervewracking at the same time.lizzielemon wrote:You guys...

I feel the same. Things are kind of on pause for my life right now. Lots of huge things happening in the span of a couple weeks...not to mention I turn 24 *cries*...I'm actually most nervous about negotiating scholarships though. Every time I've read about it or discussed it with someone, everyone's always so general...I'm like...SPECIFICALLY how do I do this? I feel like I'm gonna screw it up and not get any more moneylizzielemon wrote:You guys...

I've been trying my best not to think that way...but MAN your post just hit me. My December score wasn't nearly good enough to get me in anywhere I want to go so yes March will literally determine the rest of my life. And I know that most people say that a bad test won't mean anything in the long run but it's hard to think that it won't. Maybe I'm too young but I really can't help but feel like a bad exam mark or in this case a bad LSAT will have some sort of significant impact on my life.lizzielemon wrote:You guys...

Yeah I'm bothered by my age because 23 was such a horrible year for me. Honestly, I feel like I wasted an entire year of my life so it makes me sad that I'm yet another year older with hardly anything to show for itlizzielemon wrote:AbbeyS wrote:I feel the same. Re: The Official February 2016 Waiter's Thread
I feel that exact way, and what makes it worse is, I have a successful job and everything. But to me, that job means NOTHING. And whenever I say, I have nothing to show for life, nothing meaningful. People always try to play the "but look all you've accomplished, your job, your career."AbbeyS wrote:

And I'm just like... what career? A job where I sit 9-5, go home, watch TV, go back to work. Hear my boss bitch, take a paycheck, yada yada. That's not an accomplishment so I know what you mean.
I've been pushing this law school thing for a couple of years now, and I'm just waiting for the rest of my life to happen so I can finally be proud of something!! We've got this! Don't feel sad about it! We're all still very young!! Even if we live to 90, we're not even halfway into our life, so I think we're good!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
