Re: December 2012 Re-takers
I've read posts about schools accepting applications later than posted deadlines recently because of the lack of applicants ... do you guys think this could realistically work to my advantage as far as possibly not being able to take the December LSAT?
Also: weren't the initial deadlines October 29th, and the late registration deadlines November 9th? It says on their website that those were the deadlines. But those deadlines aren't any different than the ones that were initially posted, i.e they didn't actually push registration deadlines back as a result of Sandy / all the lateness of getting test scores out? Does anyone know what the actual late registration deadline was as a result of Sandy?

It certainly could, but who knows. You gotta call LSAC tomorrow and get it sorted out. If they say you have to take in Feb, then you need to contact the schools you're interested in that say they don't accept Feb, and see if they will make an exception.M.M. wrote:I've read posts about schools accepting applications later than posted deadlines recently because of the lack of applicants ... do you guys think this could realistically work to my advantage as far as possibly not being able to take the December LSAT?

Interesting article...

Are we going to do some review of something at 9PM CST? I'd be down, I should get to leave work around 7ish so should have time to get some passages/sections in. I need to start amping up the studying, and having a review session to prepare for helps a ton...

It might work to your advantage but there's no real way to know other than calling the schools.M.M. wrote:I've read posts about schools accepting applications later than posted deadlines recently because of the lack of applicants ... do you guys think this could realistically work to my advantage as far as possibly not being able to take the December LSAT?

In terms of the deadlines, the only thing that was pushed back was the initial deadline and only for October test-takers (it wasn't pushed back for everyone, which is why it isn't listed on the website). So October test-takers could sign up after Oct 29th and before Nov 9th without paying the late fee. The late deadline was not pushed back.

Re: December 2012 Re-takers
Okay, let's do 2 LR sections and an RC section. Is PT56 okay? I may just do the whole PT if I have time, but it wouldn't be in test like conditions since I'm gonna try to do a section or two while at work. Or we could just do cambridge stuff, I don't really care.gguuueessttt wrote:I'd be down for either LR or more RC.HawkeyeGirl wrote:Interesting article...

Depends on the game. If it's like an ordering game or something? Mildy, yeah, because I think those are still doable. If it's like CD's or seats on a bus I wouldn't worry as much about it. Maybe just a little.Wormfather wrote:I'm getting my ass kicked by the earlier games sections, 10-30, and not finishing them on time. Should I be concerned?

No. But, try to figure out how to become more efficient at them. When you review try to figure out what would have made it easier for you to solve them in time. Master them. I think it helps with the later games.Wormfather wrote:I'm getting my ass kicked by the earlier games sections, 10-30, and not finishing them on time. Should I be concerned?

Re: December 2012 Re-takers
Well, as zoned showed us, it's important to be flexible with games and understand how to do games that are different than the ones we usually see. So if I were you I'd just keep practicing as many games as possible, and re-do games that are hard for you over and over again until you really understand them. Re-doing games was actually the most helpful strategy I used for October.Wormfather wrote:I'm getting my ass kicked by the earlier games sections, 10-30, and not finishing them on time. If y'all haven't checked it out yet, the Kaplan PrepTest Explanations are useful for reviewing LR and RC answer choices that you got wrong.

Finally took PT43 after Batman v. Bane like defeat, fear and self-doubt.
LR: -5
RC: -1
LG -1
175
Note: I took the RC earlier this week, got -5 and threw the test at the wall so I remembered where I got some questions wrong. The LG seemed familiar, I may have done this previously but over a year ago. I burned through it in 25 minutes! The one question I got wrong was a result of sloppiness.
I have no idea what to feel about this "175".

Take it as a good sign; I would, at any rate. Even if you had it -5 on this one you still would have had a pretty solid score.GabeQuixote wrote:Finally took PT43 after Batman v. Bane like defeat, fear and self-doubt.

The -5 was with me after work, no caffeine and unable to concentrate. When I retook PT43 I took Section 2, 3, 4 and then put the RC retake at the end.Lenahan3 wrote:Take it as a good sign; I would, at any rate. 175. I guess it's progress.
Maybe those 200 Flaw questions yesterday weren't a waste of my time?

Re: December 2012 Re-takers
I'm bashing my head in the wall tomorrow by putting 2 RC's (one is an experimental from PT 51) back to back in an attempt to somewhat balance out the fact that I've seen it before but with zero review. Terrrrrrrific.
