Re: December 2013 Retakers
Quick question: Does anyone know what happens if you apply now with an October 2013 score but also sign up to take the December LSAT? Will schools wait to look at my application until my December score is posted in January?
I would like to apply now with my October score (which I'm not thrilled with) because I don't see myself achieving a meaningful score increase with the December exam and I figure it's worth getting the applications in 2+ months earlier. Also, if I do happen to get a big score increase, any schools that haven't made a decision by early January or Waitlisted me with my Oct score, may be more likely to accept me.
Does my thinking make sense, or am I missing something?
Thanks!

Checking in for December. I'm down for this, if we can come to an agreement on which PT to do. I'd rather do an earlier one (30's/40's), I exhausted all of the 50's/60's for October.thisiswater wrote:Anyone want to schedule a PT to do and then go over for next weekend (Nov. 9th or 10th) or something?

Re: December 2013 Retakers
I think most apps have a section where you list which LSATs you have taken/plan to take and you can just list Dec 2013 and schools will receive it once scores are released. I'm also pretty sure I've read a few interviews from Deans saying that that is preferable to waiting.lsprospect2013 wrote:Quick question: Does anyone know what happens if you apply now with an October 2013 score but also sign up to take the December LSAT? Ditto to this. For now, I am reviewing my PT70 errors and would like to take a PT by Thursday. I will be heavily focusing on LR. Also going to start the LSAT Trainer 4-week regimen tomorrow.mhaas wrote:Checking in for December. I'm down for this, if we can come to an agreement on which PT to do. Best of luck to everyone taking it again in December! Don't let the LSAT beat you.
If you haven't done the Cambridge Difficult Questions LR packet or gotten the Cambridge RC PTs 1-20 by type book, I suggest that you practice with them if you haven't already exhausted that prep material. Additionally, don't let your nerves get to you.

That's the key - The Trainer talks about how to prevent that.jingosaur wrote:Best of luck to everyone taking it again in December! Don't let the LSAT beat you.

If I don't feel comfortable I might sit out til February or June. Rather do this one right than blow it and end up in TTT purgatory. Gonna hit the intro chapters to Trainer tonight again after I get home from school/work.
Honestly I don't see much of a problem even sitting for February with the schools I want to apply to this cycle. I'm applying to 1 in the T14 and the rest are T15-T50. I've seen all the posts regarding "If you take Feb you have to apply next cycle" and I sort of

Just realized I should be on this thread and not the Dec 2013 regular thread.
How are all of the 17X retakers prepping? I scored a 171 but am looking to get it up to 175 for Dec.

I feel a little lucky in that my october score shows such a huge issue in only one section. I am going to really really work and drill LR for the next 10 days and then start PTing and doing timed sectionspaglababa wrote:Just realized I should be on this thread and not the Dec 2013 regular thread.

Havent decided yet. Leaning toward using the trainer with a 4 week plan. Also have to practice RC timing which I will do as well.paglababa wrote:Just realized I should be on this thread and not the Dec 2013 regular thread.

I went:
LG: -2
LR1: -5
LR2: -3
RC: -0
I'm not sure what to focus on. I typically went -4 to -5 combined in LR during my prep so not sure why I bombed on the real thing. Also, I've never PTed at -0 on RC.
I feel like I might just drill sections during the week and do 1-2 PTs on the weekends leading up to Dec.

My plan is pretty similar to the ones above. I plan to study for 25-30 hours a week (hopefully I can balance this with school and work). I'm going to go through the Trainer for the first time, re-read the Manhattan series, and take ~20 PTs. My main focuses are LG and LR.
Also, what is this "Synchro Genesis" business? Getting my score has messed with my head and I'm at a point where I'm willing to buy anything!

His LG videos brought me from a -9/-11 to -1/-2 in less than a week so I'd like to give him my money if his other stuff is legit.
Anything you guys are going to change about your prep for the second time around?
But their LR stuff is amazing; highly recommended. It's very simple, but efficient (and even entertaining at times). Most importantly he (JY Ping) places a huge emphasis on teaching a wider conditional logic framework, which is immensely helpful.
Could you explain what you mean about teaching a "wider conditional framework?"

I don't use synchro. I'm just marveling over how widespread the TLS synchro craze has gone and could go.
