Anyone aware of some good online sources for PDF files of RC passages?
I have exhausted my existing hard copy supplies, several of them are heavily marked after redo's and analysis.

I don't think anyone sells PDFs. Other than torrenting(which is probably not recommended) it I'm not sure there's legal pdf's anymore.SunDevil14 wrote:Anyone aware of some good online sources for PDF files of RC passages?

Double thinking this.. My first test was a C+ which is why I was like fuck it I'll pass/fail it, but I'm looking at stuff that was on the test and I legit think I did really well. Ugh, any advice? The deadline to pass/fail is today so I can still cancel it if I want. I know pass/fail doesn't count towards LSAC GPA, and 1 of them won't look bad on your transcript but hmm... Really thinking nowMikey wrote:so glad LSAC doesn't penalize you for P/F classes. just did it for one of my classes just now. taking advantage of this shit, fuck it

Kind of hoping our hard passage is a science one. I've found that I rarely miss questions on them, and, in worst case, I spend a little extra time. Just finished the passage on basins of attraction that is supposedly hard. Did not find it hard. Then again, I found it really interesting and the general idea behind it just made a lot of intuitive sense to me.

The art passages always suck, I don't care about lacquer and if there is one about poetry I almost have to take a second and gather myself. History based art like the ones about blues are cool, but I'll take neurological pathways over eileen gray any day.
MOAR SCIENCE PLZ
I tend to dislike the odd ball passages that just contain a plethora facts and minutia from an objective view, rather than the majority of which that contain different viewpoint and arguments. It's more about the format than the subject for me.
I am curious whether anyone employs the follow strategy or would recommend it: quickly read the first passage or two (tend to be relatively easy compared to the later two) and then use the additional time to really analyze the more difficult final two passage which tend to have more questions. I have seen different timing strategies along the lines of I. 7:30 II. 7:30 III. 10:00 IV. 10:00 or I. 7:00 II. 8:00 III. 9:30 IV. 10:30

Like you I do not notate, and try to do the same thing for each passage. At times I finish the section and feel that I could have spent less time or the 1st or 2nd passage and more on the 3rd or 4th.dj9i27 wrote:for me, the less moving parts the better. I tried a notation system and it was too complex, instead of focusing on the passage itself I was searching for what to notate.

I just spend as much time as needed to feel comfortable that I understand. I suppose though that nearing 8 min would probably get me to switch to the next passage though.
I find the difficulty of the passage takes care of how much time I spend on it.
Generally I have around 21 minutes for the final two sections. Often that's enough time to slow down on the final passage (more time than necessary).
I go - 1 to - 3.

I'd love to be in that -1 to -3 range. It would take some of the pressure off my other sections.dj9i27 wrote:i hit around that for the last 2 as well, difficulty and interest is what gets me. Yeah - I have no desire to remain in the 'I, on average, get as many wrong on RC as every other section combined' club. It's garbage. I know I should perform better on RC than I have. I think I'm going to do another day or two of passages and then give a shot at a full RC section.dj9i27 wrote:it'll happen soon enough. today I went -7 because I literally just said to hell with the lsat I'm tired.I think confidence helps a lot, when second guessing is prevalent your mind wanders from the passage try to be emotionless and robotic.34iplaw wrote:I'd love to be in that -1 to -3 range. Yep. My school has a lot of Jewish students so all of their holidays we get off. I guess the school figures we have too many days off, oh well lol. I get out early today anyways (12) so it's whatevsdj9i27 wrote:Its veterans day, you have class? Lol I had no idea that other schools get veteran's day off. I think I go to a commie school. we actually don't get any holidays off except for Thanksgiving and obviously Christmas. But I guess in exchange we have a really short semester so it works out.Mikey wrote:Yep. My school has a lot of Jewish students so all of their holidays we get off. Ugh going home this weekend to visit my parents, I think might be wasting my time because I'll have to PT both Saturday and Sunday and then obviously review and shit and do regular homework throughout my time there. I can't wait until December 3rd and I destroy this test and never have to think about it again.

I feel like recently the hard ones have been really like intricate anthropology and art passages. Which are hard because the stuff you're supposed to get from them are a lot more subtle than the science passages.34iplaw wrote:Kind of hoping our hard passage is a science one.
