Are there different curves for 160 and 170 in the sense that 170 could be less generous relative to previous administrations, than the 160 is relative to previous administrations?

For real. I also think it just absolves responsibility, agency, and willpower. I guess I'm a humanist when it comes down to it. Pico della Mirandola for life. Yeah. They look at how difficult the test is for people in different score ranges.dontsaywhatyoumean wrote:Are there different curves for 160 and 170 in the sense that 170 could be less generous relative to previous administrations, than the 160 is relative to previous administrations?

That's the pits. I'm pretty sure my family (and definitely Mrs. Pozzo's family) are actively rooting for a low score to keep me local. This blows.cherrygalore wrote:Already deep in it.Vino.Veritas wrote:Join mePozzo wrote:Was just talking about the last two games with my dad, put me into an absolute panic.

Blessed that the schools I'm applying to that require LORs need the letter writers to email their letter separately from my app, so I can still submit without them!cherrygalore wrote:I'm still waiting for a LORVino.Veritas wrote: At least y'all will be ready to submit after you get your scores. I don't even know exactly what schools I'm applying to yet. It all depends on this score. It's so hard to get myself to write any optional essays for schools that I may or may not be actually applying toVino.Veritas wrote:Blessed that the schools I'm applying to that require LORs need the letter writers to email their letter separately from my app, so I can still submit without them!cherrygalore wrote:I'm still waiting for a LORVino.Veritas wrote: At least y'all will be ready to submit after you get your scores. So to kill time I've just been watching The Office while in my office. Damn, season 1 is so homophobic/xenophobic (terms that were definitely not in common use back then, back when? 2005). Could a show like the office be made again? I mean, in Season 1 there's the Sikh It guy, and Michael Scott literally starts to call the police when he sees him. Now, I know Michael Scott's humor is a third-degree type of opinion, like "it's not a racist joke that I made, it's one that Michael scott would make" therefore, the transference of racist blame goes from writer to character, with the added degree of parody. But it seems like even that sort of humor would be unacceptable now, in 2017?
thoughts? Can we ever be offensive again?

Yeah... I mean depending the relationship you could be more or less direct. My LOR guy from UG was great... he did it exactly when he said he would. I guess he studies process engineering and whatnot for a living though, so I imagine tardiness annoys him to the core. I've been debating getting one more from a professor I only had during freshman and junior year, as I know he would have it finished at the drop of a pen for me... I'd be a little concerned he may portray me in too jovial of a light though.cherrygalore wrote:I am. It's so surprising to me how late the deadlines for applications are in the US. In Canada, most are due in November.

+1... I am somewhat fortunate that my Sept score makes me a rather marginal candidate to the lower T14 (-1 75th %ile) while my expected score may make me a YP candidate... so I'm focused on those right now. I have a cousin and uncle that went to Penn for undergrad, but I think I rather that be a very short blurb.wildquest8200 wrote:cherrygalore wrote:+1em15 wrote: I don't even know exactly what schools I'm applying to yet. I have a lot of thoughts on this. I totally agree with the transference of blame, but I think with The Office it goes a step further. Because everyone in the show and the audience recognizes that Michael Scott's behaviour is wrong. They know he's racist/sexist/xenophobic, and the joke isn't whatever joke Michael makes, but rather the joke is that he doesn't recognize how socially inappropriate he is being.

Just fyi, multiple times in the past LSAC has released scores on a day they were "closed." So, the fact that they are closed doesn't mean a whole lot to the chances of score release today. Part of me thinks they release it late or on closed days to avoid that initial flood of phone calls.Legallylawyer2020 wrote:Lsac's offices closed December 24th and won't reopen until tomorrow (January 3rd) so I highly doubt we will get scores before tomorrow. This is from the message on LSAC's phone line when you try to reach an actual person.
