Great score, keep it going! I envy your LR scores. I'm stuck with getting the harder LR questions wrong (usually the ones between 14-20ish), how did you overcome this? I drill and do fine but when doing full sections I just get screwed by thembeenoparte125 wrote:Took PT 37 today (I got this book to drill, but wanted to take a PT today but not use up one of the later tests).
Scored a 175, but I forgot to answer one LG question and that one question would have gotten me a 177!!
I would definitely recommend taking the LG section from this PT timed, as there are a few unusual games in here that really try to throw you for a loop and had me sweating.
Couple of thoughts- I perform MUCH better around 1:00pm than I do in the evenings after work. Also, still not confident with my answers on RC.. gotta drill, and this RC was a little easier than some of the more recent RC sections.

Drilled the LGs I missed from 33, 34, and 35.
Then did 36, including that monstrous bus game.

I've seen improvements I think due to BR and the Manhattan LR book, which I found very helpful.TheMikey wrote:Great score, keep it going! I envy your LR scores. Redoing logic games I thought I mastered a few days ago and still getting questions wrong. I'm fucking fuming. Coming around to the view that doing my best just might not result in a perfect LG score, and that's gonna have to be alright.

Common to have fluctuations? Scored 168, 171, 175 and then today scored 166.
All were during timed conditions.
Possible I was just a little tired today. Reviewing the ones I missed, I would say 3-4 questions were rather easy that I shouldn't have missed. Also, missed a total of 14 questions which would usually mean a 168, but for some reason on the October 2008 PrepTest 55, a minus 14 was a 166.

I think you shouldn't stop taking PTs. Regressions happen and most of the time they don't mean much (just a one-off deviation from the mean). At the end of the day it's just a few stray marks on a piece of paper, not an evaluation of your self-worth. Now that it's April I like the idea of taking at least one PT a week up until the June date. Progress is never perfectly linear. Keep working and you will improve!gonavy! wrote:Hey guys
I've been studying for about two months, slowly inching up to 161 a few days ago from my cold diagnostic of 154. I took a PT today and scored 155.
This is the 5th PT I've taken and I've been blind reviewing each of them. Should I stop taking PTs and focus on my study materials (currently using 7sage and Lsat trainer..have the bibles but haven't used them yet)? Or should I continue to make PTs part of my routine despite the regression?
Fresh PTs are obviously a finite resource but I also know I should try to train myself for test day conditions. Looking to take my first test in June and then again in October. Thanks for the advice

Ever try doing 5-10 LR questions or a game before taking a PT? A lot of people swear by it.ayylmao wrote: I'm the same way. I can definitely see this being good advice, and will give it a shot this weekend. How would this translate to actual test day though?moorelsat wrote:Ever try doing 5-10 LR questions or a game before taking a PT? A lot of people swear by it.ayylmao wrote: I'm the same way. Well yeah, you won't be able to do the "warm up" right before the exam. (You shouldn't have any LSAT materials with you in the testing center.) I'm just talking about something to wake your brain up with over your morning coffee and scrambled eggs. Even if it's a couple hours before the exam, it's good to get your brain in that mode so you don't start an exam "cold."beenoparte125 wrote:

Well, threadmates (??), after countless hours of LG drilling the "click" moment that so many talk about finally happened.
All 10 of the LG I drilled today were finished under the 7Sage time, with some being by several minutes.
By focusing on the "important" game pieces I was able to keep my head from getting too clogged and not miss a single inference (and only two questions total!)!
I have been repeating a motto to myself every day before drilling. I learned it while racing & autocrossing, but I know it originates in the Military: Slow is Smooth and Smooth is Fast.
This has kept me from making dumb mistakes (missing rules in LG, key words in LR), and it also takes my mind off of time; thus limiting panic.

172 on PT 62. Annoyed because it's below my average, I'm wildly inconsistent on games, and I got annihilated by RC, which is usually my strongest section. What a fucking bear this RC was!
Most worryingly though, there were several questions I didn't even flag for review. That's a yuge problem.
