Anyone try the 7sage online course?

When i watch 7sage diagram LGs, i get the feeling that his methodology is more simple and fast than what PS tells me to do (esp. for grouping and sequencing). I'm curious as to whether his LR explanations/lessons are good too, if anyone has done them before. most likely gonna hit manhattan LR prep regardless because LR is kicking my ass :o

split between the LSAT ultimate bundle ($549) and LSAT starter bundle + complete LSAT PT package sold by Cambridge ($179 + $275 = $454) [yeah, LSAT starter bundle does give me some PTs which overlap with the complete LSAT PT package....]. anyways, wondering if the additional LSAT PT explanations in the ultimate bundle (and not getting PT 1-38 since he uses all of them for example questions i think) is worth the extra $100.. (come from a pretty poor family and also not working rn)

course descriptions can be found here: https://7sage.com/enroll/
cambridge LSAT PT packages here: http://www.cambridgelsat.com/bundles/

any insight is welcome :D

That's an oddly specific and low goal. Why not shoot for 170+ like everyone else? Your diagnostic was decent.
I'm a Canadian and will probably be going to law school in Canada. 167 Gives me close to a 100% acceptance rate for every school in Canada given my GPA. If by some chance I end up 170+ I am open to considering an American school.

I am indifferent between a T14 American school and a school in Canada, but am all sorts of terrified of just about every outside of that range.

Why is 151 considered a good diagnostic? I thought it was average? I got the same thing and had a bit of a panic attack about it being too low of a starting point.
151 Is around average for the LSAT, not for a diagnostic. The 120-180 range comes from the overall test taking population, many of which have put time into studying for the test. So in theory, scoring in the 50th percentile on a cold diagnostic may be indicative of above average aptitude for the test.

151 is okay. It's not great, but 150 or higher is probably a good starting point.

People place too much stock in the diagnostic. It's the end point and how you get there that matters. The diagnostic really just serves as a litmus test to give you an idea of how your skills are without any prep. And I guess the satisfaction of telling people how many points you "jumped." Some people start with in the 140s and end up with 170+, while others start at 160+ and stay there.

People like to brag about high diagnostics.

Having a high diag is obviously good, but I can easily see how a smart person might have a low diag just because they are unfamiliar with the test. One might take too long reading RC passages, be hopeless on LG, etc. And LSAC says the LSAT requires and rewards no prior knowledge, but if you ask the average non-philosophy major about necessary and sufficient condition they won't know wtf you're talking about.

(On that last point, there's an LR question which uses the classic sample bias example about telephone polls in a 1930s presidential election, and presumably many people could answer that from memory without actually thinking.)

Right. Which is exactly why I say a diagnostic score is a silly anchor. People can learn conditional logic without being a philosophy major. That's why this test is accessible and admissions aren't exclusively being flooded by philosophy majors.

xoxo,
a philo. major who can tell you that having a degree in philosophy is neither sufficient, or necessary, to do well on the LOLSAT

All you new people make sure to vote in the poll. Once we get about 90 votes we'll move on to another one.

I'm not working full time but I'm really lazy so that works out to about the same thing.

Also, shout out to Mike Kim for 1) being helpful and not just blatantly peddling his book here, and 2) introducing me to Arcade Fire.

I think the most important thing after reading through these books is to PT hard. I bought the author of the trainer's 16 week schedule and for the last month it has me doing all PT's (36 total). I think the key to doing well is taking lots of PTs, figure out what you are getting wrong, and then attacking from there.
Hi -- I think it's generally best for me to stay off the study group thread, but just wanted to clarify -- my study schedules are free (available on the lsat trainer website), and they do not include so many PT's in the last month -- just want to make sure you aren't confusing the actual trainer schedules with those sold by third parties.

I bought a schedule from LSATi's website, which included your book, the bibles, and all of the practice tests. Is it bad to be doing so many PTs? This is week 2/16 for me so I can adapt easily, but I want to make sure I am on the right track to getting a 170+.

Yeah Neon Bible is a great album but I like all of their albums. My mother and my sister always introduce me to great music. I'm like my dad; he doesn't search out new music he just listens to his favorites over and over again until someone introduces him to something new that he likes. :P

I've been listening to Arcade Fire since their first album came out. KEXP was where my mother first heard Arcade Fire, it's a great radio station that does live streaming.

Heyo. I was recovering from birthday activities, if you mean my lack of posting the last few days. If you're talking about studying I still haven't gotten back to it since that day. I intend on getting back into it tomorrow but we'll see how that goes.
I haven't done anything in over a week, so I'm right there with you.

Being a fan of both AF and the Decemberists, I'd have to say that Funeral/Neon Bible is better than anything the Decemberists have done (Her Majesty being my fav)

Thanks! I'm in that awkward position where my work doesn't know I'm taking the LSAT so I can't study at work even when its completely dead. So basically I drink a bunch of coffee and study at night.
