Yeah, I definitely think the media portrays it that way. But he does have support from prominent economists and policy makers, albeit those with a liberal bent, such as former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich (who worked with Clinton). I'd think that given the support for both views, contrary to the question media poses -- are the policies realistic -- the questions should be more about how they would be implemented, what kind of Congress would be needed to support these changes, and whether these are systemic changes that American voters actually want and can benefit from, and if so whether they will stay engaged in the political process.TexasENG wrote:I honestly have no idea how realistic his proposals are. He says them and offers people who agree with him, then people who don't agree with him come out and say it doesn't work. Who knows which faction is correct, but it is a common criticism.wellitsover wrote:Why do people keep saying that about his economic policy? Yeah there are some who claim his policies to be unrealistic, but there are plenty of economists who are in support of his policies as well. I'm not an economic guru by any means, but I don't understand why people continue to say that as if it's fact when there is clearly room for disagreement...TexasENG wrote:Serious Answer:MiamiHeat3 wrote:Why are millennials/college students attracted to Bernie Sanders? like the guy is a proclaimed socialist. He supports a majority of progressive positions that people in the US tend to like.

Additionally he avoids the fear mongering that tends to dominate much of the Republican discourse.
Also I think he benefits from the socialist label to some extent as that makes him an "outsider" which is clearly a beneficial label this cycle (Donald Trump).
Edit: Doesn't mean his economic policy is based on actual math though, so there's always that.

So TLS seems to be overwhelmingly supportive of Bernie right? What does this mean considering TLS users agreeing about even the time of day is a rare occurance?
