But then who will go to Barry?!

Looked up Barry's ABA 509 and LST page and almost fell out of my chair at work.
My (immigrant) parents are totally fine with me going to a T50 or even a T100, and it seems attractive when I factor in the in-state tuition, no need to move, living expenses covered by my job, etc. But some nights the last thing I think of before going to bed is, What would I tell my future kids? Wouldn't I tell them to go for the best possible school, to position themselves for the best opportunities, to make the most of the gift of being born here instead of back in my lovely Third World country? The end of the spiel is always the same: Don't I owe it to myself (and to them) to be doing the same thing?
I LOVE everything you just said. That's exactly how I feel (aside from my selfish, vain longing to attend a prestigious school). Always, always, always shoot for the absolute highest thing possible. And if you don't get there, you at least won't have regret over not trying.
Meanwhile, my dad over here is going "My coworker has two daughters that went to Columbia and NYU. It would be nice to have a daughter that went to Harvard *strongly hints*"
