Surprisingly, I only missed one on the buildings game but I missed 3 on game 3. When I looked back, I realized the game was actually pretty simple. I panicked in the middle, and couldn't think my way through the inferences. Need to remember not to do that on test day.

Took a week off from PTing due to the holiday. Decided to take one yesterday and was shocked by the results.
PT 38
LR1: -2
LG: -0
RC: -6
LR2: -4
-12 total for a 170. This is by far my highest score ever, with the previous being 165. I think at this point in time I'm gonna take it with a grain of salt, but it's kinda hard not to be excited.

Taking PT79 in a few minutes - it's one of three PTs I have left, so I figure if this is one of the hardest exams in recent history, then I should be good come what may Saturday.GnarMarBinx wrote:Took PT 79 a couple days ago and holy shit is that hard. I had never looked at it before, but I knew of the infamous virus game. Seriously, fuck that game and Fuck Eileen Grey. Totally ruined my confidence a week out from the real testNow it's time to gain it back again hopefully... How do you people usually bounce back from a test that you underperformed on?

Just woke up from a dream in which I sent Harvard UChicago and a couple others a PS about beer pong by accident.

Shit. Only 4 days ahead.
PT82
LR -3/-3
RC -1
LG -0
Made several simple mistakes in LR. LG was easy, but messed up the setup in one of them, which made feeling uneasy. Fortunately, the LG was so easy and I corrected it.
I have a full-time job, so probably will only do 2 more PTs and just review my LR mistakes. PT79 (the 2nd time) and 63 (the 3rd time). PT63 owned me in the 1st and 2nd take.

Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
IMHO, any test where a score in the 170's is impossible to get is redic... I know there's lots because I think usually there's 1 score in the 170's that can't be attained with the -11 average for 170. PT81 is even worse because there's 2 of them that you can't get...paperworkjim wrote:The real weirdos ITT is LSAC. How tf is that a -9 curve?Mikey wrote:I went -13 on PT 81
so I guess I'm the shitty one ITT since all of you managed to stay in the 170s lmao

What would you guys consider as your best case scenario setup? I think I’d want LR-LG-RC-LR-LG. Definitely two LGs bc that’s still my strongest, and placing RC towards the beginning so I’m less prone to exhaustion by the end.

Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
I also just didn't think it was particularly easy. The RC was certainly not easy, I got a -3 when I normally go -1 or -2, and the LR had some tricky questions. I think a -10 or -11 curve would be more more suitable. Alas, we deal with what we are given. I'm gonna stop complaining about PT81, but I went from a 175 to a 170/169 (misbubble would actually put me at a 169) so I am a bit salty.Experiment626 wrote:IMHO, any test where a score in the 170's is impossible to get is redic... I think my preference would be LR-RC-LG | LR-LG. Though I did really well with three LRs in September, but having RC last killed me (tired and overconfident, not a good combination).AvatarMeelo wrote:What would you guys consider as your best case scenario setup? Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
I was thinking about this earlier...perfect scenario would be LR RC LR LR LG with the first LR being the experimental because thats basically a free warmup, and LG being last because that is the one section that fatigue doesn't seem to effect as much. If the first section isn't experimental, then yeah I think what you put would be good. 2 LGs would be nice but if I did well on one and poorly on the other my anxiety would be through the roof. RC last could really be a killer, but I always seem to have a bit more energy on the actual day of the test day so it might not be as big of a deal as Im currently thinking.AvatarMeelo wrote:What would you guys consider as your best case scenario setup? Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
That's an interesting point. Having the LR be experimental is best for the nerves as you are likely to focus on one or two problems you struggled with as opposed to LG where if you struggle it's likely a whole game which can easily ruin you.MercW07 wrote:I was thinking about this earlier...perfect scenario would be LR RC LR LR LG with the first LR being the experimental because thats basically a free warmup, and LG being last because that is the one section that fatigue doesn't seem to effect as much. I'd like to have my September set up again. LG - LR - LG - RC - LRAvatarMeelo wrote:What would you guys consider as your best case scenario setup? I think I’d want LR-LG-RC-LR-LG. exp LG would be ideal but hoping they don't give me RC

I def am praying most for an RC section 1 or 2. That is game changing in my opinion. 2LGs is best case prob too. Otherwise its just an added layer of exhaustion.AvatarMeelo wrote:What would you guys consider as your best case scenario setup? I think I’d want LR-LG-RC-LR-LG. Currently BRing Isotopes from PT81 and...wow. I read the stimulus very carefully and even drew a diagram. I went to the ACs expecting one to just stand out and yeah Ive got nothing.
Edit: Overthought my way right into the incorrect trap answer. Sweet!

Update: fire alarm went off as i finished my experimental section with one section to go. there was a building wide evacuation. Considering this was PT 79 I’m gonna take that as another sign that this score is in no way indicative of my abilities or performance which can be either good or bad.
