Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Signed up for the test around a month ago but I'm starting to get the feeling that I just won't be ready by June. Might just have to push back to October. With work, I never really have the time to just sit down for 4-5 hours straight and I feel like the added time in the summer would really help me. Would still love to take June since it's given in the afternoon, and I'll try to really get going within the next few weeks, but October may be more realistic.
I can't believe that there hasn't already been a thread created for the October exam. The threads usually go up 10-12 months before exam time, and we're around 7 months from October. Maybe everyone plans on taking October.
Anyway, good luck studying everyone!!! Also please excuse grammar/ spelling as I'm writing on a smartphone and can barely see what I wrote. We seriously need a TLS app

I'm starting to feel the same way. These people who say they study 20+ hours per week must have either superhuman work ethics or no responsibilities. After I've done school, work, and regular studying all day, I just want to fire up Netflix and drift off to sleep, not do LSAT prep.179orBust wrote:Signed up for the test around a month ago but I'm starting to get the feeling that I just won't be ready by June. There should be an August exam. June is such a strange time to have an LSAT administration.

I am one of those people studying 4+ hours a day. I literally have no responsibilities. It's probably the only thing that lets me do this.RZ5646 wrote:I'm starting to feel the same way. Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
People who want to make time for the LSAT make time for it, regardless of responsibilities. If you're working a 9-5 job, you can wake up early and study a few hours. Or you can stay after work. On the weekends, you should be studying at least 5 hours a day, at a minimum. Especially when you factor in PTing and BR. So 10 hours for the weekend, and 2 hours per day on the weekdays is 20 hours minimum per week. It's doable. Once you get into a rhythm of blocking off time for the LSAT (which should be your #1 priority), you get used to it.RZ5646 wrote:I'm starting to feel the same way. That said, definitely don't jump into the exam if you're not feeling 110% ready for it. At the same time, you shouldn't be leaning into the luxury of postponing or taking the exam with the "retake" mentality.

I work and have a kid and still make time for about 20 hours a week on average. Like you said, you just have to set aside time and stick to it.Shakawkaw wrote:People who want to make time for the LSAT make time for it, regardless of responsibilities. Interesting to see the sharp decrease at the top since that same group actually increased in number of applicants last year, according to Above the Law.Dirigo wrote:Doesn't really pertain to us since we are next cycle, but interesting nonetheless. Hoping for more famine next cycle.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
A big part of last year's drop is probably that the smartest people are choosing other careers, but I'd also argue that with dropping medians there's less of an incentive to get 175+ and that can partially explain the decrease. Many applicants in the 170-174 group might have studied more and been 175+ in previous years but chose to slack off a bit because of these well-publicized drops in top scores.NonTradLawHopeful wrote:

Likewise, perhaps in the year that the 175+ group increased, applicants were inundated with TLS-style info about how a top score is neceesary and were scared into studying more.

Tough question to answer, but probably the Fifth Element or Moonrise Kingdom (debatable but I think that it counts) because sci-fi & Wes Anderson <3RZ5646 wrote:Favorite Bruce Willis movie and why.BruiseWillis wrote:Third year CogSci/Psych major at UGA and studying at Oxford for the semester, T5 striver and first start studying mid January. Really? Not Die Hard with a Vengeance? And MK does not count as a BW film, as much as I love Wes Anderson.BruiseWillis wrote:Tough question to answer, but probably the Fifth Element or Moonrise Kingdom (debatable but I think that it counts) because sci-fi & Wes Anderson <3RZ5646 wrote:Favorite Bruce Willis movie and why.

TCR is Die Hard, the best Christmas movie ever made. Possibly Pulp Fiction, if that counts as a Bruce Willis movie.
However, Fifth Element is understandable... Gary Oldman's range is extraordinary.
ETA: I forgot about 12 Monkeys. That's good too, though Brad Pitt is really its star.

Has anyone gone through the trainer? If you have what are good books to supplement it? I am half way though and plan on doing the power score bibles (3) and lots of Pt's, but I was wondering if i should get the Manhattan books too

I would do Trainer + Manhattan. The PS Bibles aren't very good, IMO.prestont123 wrote:Has anyone gone through the trainer? If you have what are good books to supplement it?
