Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
I guess studying this week won't really help anymore. Gonna do a little bit of drilling and that's it. I expect to bomb anyway and retake in Feb

Same. I went -9 on this PT too. I've consistently getting -9 but on PTs like this where the curve is -9 it sucks. Hoping DEC isnt like that.kiklavan wrote:LR rocked my world on this one too & I got the same score on the other sections as you did. You're not alone!paperworkjim wrote:Well, that puts it to rest. Haven't scored this low on LR in months -- so I'm gonna postpone until February and hone down those skills, and make things more consistent. Honestly, the curve on this one is brutal. -9 for a 170.
PT81
RC -3
LR1 -5
LR2 -0
LG - 1
170
Paperworkjim - good choice. Seems like thats what you've been leaning towards all along.

Agreed! I took 81 today and Im pretty surprised the curve is -9. Im guessing its -9 because LG was really easy, but still I think its a bit ridiculous.paperworkjim wrote:The real weirdos ITT is LSAC. How tf is that a -9 curve?Mikey wrote:I went -13 on PT 81

Same. In our defense, is there really anything we can learn these next few days that we haven't learned these past few months...Rupert Pupkin wrote:Haha i feel this. Put up a 168 on PT80 today, went LR -4 RC -3 LG -5 LR -2.
Fucking iteration games!! My LG has been slipping in the upper 70 PTs. Definitely need to tighten that shit up this week to have any hope of pulling off a 170

PT 72
RC: -3 (phew)
LR1: -5
LR2: -2
LG: -2
Total: 89/101, 171
That's the first time I've done better than -7 on a RC section on a newer test, which is a bit of a relief that I'm not totally hopeless. Got tripped up a bit on the last game of LG but had ~16 minutes left when I started so it was okay...took way too long to get the M-->J inference though. Missed another stupid question on the first game...a "how many Xs could be in Y spot?" question, which is usually the only kind of question I have any problems with. Is the general consensus that we are overdue for a hard LG section (and hopefully an easier RC) on Saturday? I am okay with that.

Hellllooooo friends - hope you guys have been maintaining your sanity because I sure as hell have not.
I spent the entire day doing LR timed drills since it continues to be my greatest weakness. Good news is that I think I have my pacing set - I've been trying to do 15 in 15 mins leaving me 20 for the remainder 10/11 which works out realllyy well so I'm not rushing through the inevitably hard questions. In that sense, I'm getting more of the tail end correct which I've noticed has always been an issue before I started doing this way. The bad news is that I'm more prone to mistakes for questions between 13-18 - like stupid mistakes. Like palm on your face stupid.
I'm going to take my victories where I can and just continue chipping away at it because there's still room for improvement. I might be a littttlllee dead from doing this for about the past 7 hours (don't worry, I took breaks every three sections or so!) but I'm going to call it quits in about 2 hours and then head home for what will hopefully be a zzzquil induced night of sleep.
And that is another day in the life of AvatarMeelo - flameo hotmen!

Is that the one with the muscle memory RC passage?GnarMarBinx wrote:Took PT 79 a couple days ago and holy shit is that hard. I had never looked at it before, but I knew of the infamous virus game. How do you people usually bounce back from a test that you underperformed on?
This happened to be yesterday after an LR section. I’d just take a long break and revisit after a few hours then review it!

Sorry in advance for sounding like a complete brat. But do you guys think it’s too much to work on apps and take up a full time job next month? I’m applying to 8 schools probably but how time consuming can all these essays be?

Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
So I can’t speak for the American schools since I’m only applying in Canada, but we have to submit “personal statements” (much briefer than yours) and it took me about a month and a half to get my stuff down solid. Im working PT so it’s ok, but I remember what studying for the LSAT was like when I was working FT and it kinda sucked.kiklavan wrote:Sorry in advance for sounding like a complete brat. This time around I’m happy I could do my PS at my own pace and really get them to what I wanted, rather than rushing them in 3~ hours after I got home from work.

PT 80
LR1: -2
LR2: -3
RC: -2
LG: -4
Total: 170
Surprisingly, I only missed one on the buildings game but I missed 3 on game 3. When I looked back, I realized the game was actually pretty simple. I panicked in the middle, and couldn't think my way through the inferences. Need to remember not to do that on test day.
