OK, awesome.

So PT 42 (Dec. '03) S. 3 (RC) Q. 9.

This questions asks about the author's attitude. I narrowed it down to answers D & E. They both seemed viable. E seemed great given the final paragraph, but it didn't appear to me to be an option throughout the entirety of the passage. So, unfortunately, I chose answer D. In looking over it my assumption is that the reason the answer is E is that there's no indication that Lichtenstein's work is actually a "subtle critique." Therefore it's gotta be E. I just wanted to see if people agree with that, or, did I miss some tonal indicators? Or maybe something else? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Good to hear my friend!

I was going to PM you this, but I think that someone other than me may actually benefit from hearing a response from you (or anyone else) on this.

Walt: What do you do when you are drilling and you get a bunch of a question type wrong (like is currently happening to me on Weaken questions)? Do you take them even slower, and like write out:
Premises:
Conclusion:
Analysis of the gap:
And then go through each answer choice and relate it to what you just did?

Or do you have another method for a question type that gives you a problem?

I mention the above example of what to do because I don't know how else to get better at these questions that are giving me fits. I want to gain the skills needed to understand these arguments but I am unsure how to go about that.
I never get any questions wrong. Sorry can't help ya.

:D

That is basically what I do. I just dissect the shit out of those arguments, write responses on Manhattan's forum, and ask a bunch of questions. It happened to me on Principle Support Level 3 questions and after doing that I was much better on Level 4. That was probably my lowest point. However, usually I don't completely BOMB something but have intermittent mistakes which is almost more frustrating because if I were to bomb something at least I could say that I just plain don't understand it.

I feel like a small child.

While drilling LR really really slowly in order to eventually gain the skill of understanding arguments better, I constantly have to fight off the urge to try and fly through the questions to see how many I get right as if I were actually taking a PT to see how much I have improved.

Sorry just had to vent that frustration. Good weekend to everyone, especially to those of you who will be PTing :D I will be drilling a little on Sat and traveling back to school on Sun.

THIS + one million points.

This is the HARDEST part of review/prep. It is terrible. You want validation so bad but you know that the more you validate yourself the less impact your studying will have. I drilled RC for 4 hours today, working on about 3 passages and building up the necessary skills. My brain is toast. I might take a break right now and get back to studying later.

.
This happens to me. I wanted to score immediately after finishing a section with my extra time.
I'm now waiting even a few hours after taking PTs so that I learn to calm my shit a little. Patience, I have none.

Did anybody get a chance to look at the question I posted? I'm afraid that since I didn't quote anyone my post went unnoticed. I'm not familiar at all with norms on forums, so if I'm just being a horrible, impatient person let me know. Hope everyone is doing well.

OK. Found it. :) I don't have the material in front of me so i can't look it up for you, however you are better of posting it in the retakers thread, because most people have already seen this question before, and are more likely to respond-help you.

Were any of you guys overwhelmed when you first started? I just went to chapters to pick up the PowerScore bibles, only to realize that I got the workbooks, for 2x as much as the are being sold on-line. Definitely returning those haha. The the PowerScore series come up with new editions frequently? I want to make sure I have the latest ones.

Have you guys gotten your LORs?
You can send them whenever.

I've had all of mine in since 2010, but thats another story.

I would personally recommend doing nothing but studying at this point. After the test, solicit your LORs and request your transcripts. Ask that your LORs are completed and sent by 9/1. Usually LSAC processes them quickly once they receive them.

It kind of depends if you end up needing to retake (obvs then not as important to have them in early).

Just registered today.

Care to clarify the transcripts question, do I need to send them to LSAC and my schools?

I figure I have 3 months to study, about what I had for the GRE. Took a first diagnostic, 162. 9 wrong on logic games and 5 on the logical reasoning, so hopefully some improvements in those will see me 165-170ish.
