RC murdered me. NEED to figure out RC badly.
You were pting pretty high on the older ones right?
Im in the same boat - on the older tests Im averaging like 176-177 (even hit a couple 180s)
But then I got wrecked on pt 73 with a 168, and then got up to 172 on pt 74 after knowing what to expect. I took a couple PTs between 62-71 and scored in the lower 170s.
I feel like they've def gotten harder. Hopefully these are patterns we can adjust to as well.

I started taking PT's last weekend. I've taken four now.
PT 22, 176 (LR -3, LG -3, RC -0)
PT 52, 168 (LR -4, LG -10, RC -1)
PT 62, 170 (LR -5, LG -9, RC -0)
PT 57, 172 (LR -3, LG -6, RC -1)
I still have not completed a logic games section, but I'm slowly getting faster and better at them. I keep making two or three stupid mistakes on the LR or RC. Hoping to get a 175+, so I have some work ahead of me.

long time lurker, infrequent poster. checking in. now that we're almost at the 10 week away mark I'm going to start devoting significantly more time to prepping and am loving this forum for motivation! I'm currently pt-ing in the 163 range (base line score with little prep) and my ultimate goal is 170+. nice to meet everyone and happy prepping!

PT62 Logic Games. As I mentioned, I did really poorly here.
Watched the 7sage video for Game 1: "This is an unusually hard game." Okay, fine, I feel a little better.
Watched the 7sage video for Game 2: "This is one of the hardest games on the LSAT that I've ever seen."
Oh Come On.
Bad luck, I guess.

166 on PT52 yesterday. 1 point higher than my average of 165.
-7 LR, - 4 LG, -4 RC.
Really need to work on getting LR down to at least -5 and LG to -0 to get in the 170s!

Took PT 74 the other day and got a 168. Second highest so far, but huge drop from my PT 62 score. Anomaly indeed.
LR -1
LG -0
RC -6
LR -7
Bombed that last LR section, missing 5 of the last 6 questions.

Pt-31 lg was tough..i was scoring -0/-2 in lg and dropped -6 on this one.
-6 in 35 min
-3 in 41:10 min
G2 and G4 were the hard ones.
G2, the new/old jazz CDs game took me 13 mins to do the first time (missed a rule and done incorrectly) and 14:45 mins to do the second time.
G4 took me 11 mins and i thought doing it faster that that would be hard. the 7sage target time for it is 8 mins. anyone find that 7sage "target times" for some games are a little off?

the worst is when jy after saying that a game is a hard one goes "if you want to do fine on this section, you should be able to do this game in under 6 or 7 min"

Did these a few days ago.
The CD game will haunt my dreams for a while!

Every time I hear him say that, my mind translates it to:
"You're going to be drilling this until your eyes bleed".

Anyone have reading recc's to improve RC? Especially in science/law/econ subject areas.
I'm currently trudging through Capital in the 21st Century and Guns, Germs and Steel. Also some really dense articles from scholarly sites like Genetics.org.
It's crazy cause on some of my first PT's, when I was in 163-165 range, I would regularly score -0 to -2 on RC. I got -1 on my initial diagnostic even. But as I've studied more I've been averaging -3 and up to -6 (!!!). Maybe I'm now overthinking it??

A few pages back I asked for similar RC advice. A lot of people really recommend forcing yourself into being interested in the passage, and really engaging yourself in it. The topics might seem boring and pointless but from the several times I've asked for RC advice, the #1 tip if to force yourself to be engaged in it. You can go back a few pages in this thread and see the advice people gave me

alright i'm back in this thing. taking a third time, scored a 161 and 167 last two times. i've been drilling since mid feburary or so and have taken a few tests, with my lowest score being 169.
today was PT 60 for a 175.
LR: -3
LG: -2
LR: -0
RC: -3
aiming for a 175 on test day. i have a decent sense of my weak spots so i hope it's just going to be a matter of targeted drilling and persistence.

So weird! Maybe becoming more detail-oriented while studying for LR can make one less able to see the bigger picture in RC passages??

Ahh! Haha it's all good. Personally I do not have a book for RC but I've heard many say great things about Manhattan's RC book, which I'm actually tempted to try out myself.

yeah, but for some hard games 6-7 mins seems impossible esp when one hasn't seen it before

I decided to cancel my rental of the PowerScore LG book. I'm sure it's a great resource but since my thought process and diagramming technique is already pretty similar to 7sage I'm going to just work with Preptests instead of introducing outside LGs. I think introducing a different methodology right now would create more clutter and confusion for me. Just going to keep it simple.
So now I'm doing the Kim Trainer (8wk) and PrepTests with 7sage feedback. I won't get a chance to do another full PT until next weekend, though, since I'll be in a seminar down in Chicago Tue/Fri of this week. Oh well.

just did pt-43 lg for -1 in 30:57 min.
was pleased with it after the drubbing on 31-lg yesterday until i saw it's difficulty level at 7sage.
7sage gave it 1-star along with 44 lg and 45 lg whereas 31-lg had 5 stars. that explains it.
