Anybody else looking to really hammer down RC on 58? In particular, I've noticed a trend of missing main point questions, including one on 70 and two on this one (in a retake no less).

Just opened it.
170.
I'm so happy.
I don't even know how this happened. I've been averaging 168 over the past month.
I'm a URM and my GPA isn't bad--I wouldn't want to risk scoring lower than 170. I'm leaning toward focusing on my PS and DS over the next couple of weeks, then applying around Thanksgiving. I was expecting a score in the low 160s, so I'm stunned/shocked/happy.![]()
BTW, I still can't believe that you were able to hold yourself for so long before opening that email... It would drive me crazy.
Haha. It seems so stupid now. All I really did was delay my applications by a week.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
I feel you...I always feel shaky on main point questions and then feel hopelessly stupid because I am always so unsure when they should be relatively straightforward. Surprisingly I went -1 on this one, even though its a retake, I didn't remember anything except the topics once I started to read. Why can't I do this consistently and/or on the real oneOtunga wrote:Anybody else looking to really hammer down RC on 58? That sounds good. I promise to do that from now on...(didn't do it on 58 lol)bee wrote:i blind review. i quickly skim the relevant passage, then try to find specific textual evidence for every single AC, then pick my BR AC. the point is to force yourself to mechanically, methodically go over the process.Bajam wrote:Do you guys blind review RC? Re: December 2013 Retakers
Just finished PT 58 (first taken 2 months-ish ago). Didn't remember much except for the content of the passages and an argument here or there.
Score: 178
LR: -0
RC: -1
LG: -1
LR: -1
Felt kinda anxious the entire time I was taking it since I was afraid I'd mess up. Got number 2 on the first LG wrong (I need to stop underestimating the easy games which I always do half-mindedly). Felt uncomfortable towards end of RC. I hate that the answers are always in the vein of "which one of the choices is least shitty" instead of "which one of the choices is clearly slamdunk." Whoever says RC is like LR is lying. Hope to see some fellow reviewers online in a few.

OMG, I also thought the main point questions were the least slamdunk with the most shitty answer choices.Otunga wrote:Anybody else looking to really hammer down RC on 58? Cool (well, not really). I missed the main point q's on the first two passages, and I believe I missed #1 the previous time too.retaking23 wrote:OMG, I also thought the main point questions were the least slamdunk with the most shitty answer choices.Otunga wrote:Anybody else looking to really hammer down RC on 58?
