My family used to go to Watsonville (strawberry capital of the world) like 5-6 times a year to visit my mom's best friend and we'd pass through like 5 different "capitals". The "Capitals" in CA that I remember are: Strawberry (watsonville), artichoke (castroville), almond (chico, I think?), garlic (gilroy), lettuce and broccoli (I think these were the same city?), avocado (this was actually down near the border I think), and raisin (no idea where).

ETA: there's an artichoke-themed restaurant in Castroville and it has a huge artichoke outside. And there's a garlic festival in Gilroy that I've been too

The strawberry, almond and carrot capitals sound kinda cool. The lettuce and garlic ones though, sound odd. I wonder if their festivals have like pageants and stuff and some poor girl is crowned Garlic Queen or something, LOL

haha. This is why I love CA, whether you go to aggy central cal, the hipters in SF, beach bums in socal, etc, it's so diverse.
Please LSAT God(s), please give me a score that'll get me into ucla/usc.

theres a garlic festival a few hrs from me once a year I believe... not going that so dont see why I would go to one over there but the Berkeley part sounds good with me

I think so. Sucks big time because I really wanted to go to law school next year, and Fall 2016 is just so damn far away. I might honestly throw some apps to T14 this year (those who accept it this late in the game) and see who bites.

So I'm already feeling the time crunch with getting recs, transcripts, PS, DS, addenda, and most importantly a highass LSAT score.

That's all I'm focusing on right now. Lol. Hoping to knock this out of the park in feb or June.

i think asking for LORs is too soon at this juncture. They will forget lol. And they can't submit it to LSAC until August or something. Plus, you'll have an LSAT score ready if you wait.

Uhhh....you can submit your LOR's right now. I got two of mine done a couple months back before I postponed my cycle.

Curios how getting an LOR affect getting an LSAT score?

I need to get on this. I'm so worried about my academic LOR. I took classes from this instructor, like, 3 years ago. Most of my classes in ugrad were huge, with some having as many as 800 students, so I don't have many options. If I'd finished grad school I could've gotten an LOR from that. Ha! I'm hoping 2 bomb professional ones will help me.

Nlee, did you ask first then send stuff like transcript, envelope with stamp, LSAC form, etc after they agreed to write one?

Yeah, I was actually back in my school city to visit some friends and ended up asking my professor if he could write a LOR. He said, for my convenience, if I email him my transcript/resume/short cover letter, then he would take care of the delivery. Such a nice professor.
