I take like 10 pencils to the LSAT. I take like 1 pencil to a test at school and sometimes I even forget to take one lmaoodj9i27 wrote:I don't think I have ever bought this many pencils until I started studying for the lsat.

Bigly important. Sharp pencils on games are atrocious.dj9i27 wrote:I had a bag of like 16 and kept changing them out after every RC passage, used the dull ones for games. Just finished chapter 5 of Manhattan LSAT RC. I think I'll do some passages untimed or timed up for accuracy then make sure I line item everything I didn't before checking answers.dj9i27 wrote:I see LG has also become the most relaxing part of your day, I too share this. I need to figure out G4 on 72 and September, get really good at them too then I'm set. the experimental in september also screwed me so theres that.34iplaw wrote:Bigly important. Haha it always has been. The main reason is that I've done so many LGs that it's not a huge concern. I can do them for review while watching TV or something.
So I found that game (PT72G4) insanely easy. The first time I saw it... I think I finished it in under 5 minutes and got everything right. That and the virus game are very similar IMO...they test underlying logic (which I almost crushed but made a careless error). They are actually kind of easy if you just understand what's going on and don't feel too compelled to have a perfect board.
It's sort of like how you would do on LG if you never studied for the LSAT in a way if that makes sense...they don't fit into a neat board that will help you a great deal. Now, I don't know if this will help, but you could try to do a bunch of games solely by rule driving as I think that's what these games test (and, perhaps, why I don't find them as hard as I generally rule/intuition drive and verify...possibly why I find complicated grouping games harder as it's a bit harder to juggle everything in your head). Figure out how the rules force contradictions in your head rather than just going straight to hypotheticals.
Hopefully, that made some sense and wasn't total word salad.

I forget exact time but I def remember watching the 7Sage video and being like, huh, since I found it easy.dj9i27 wrote:I like to have LG playing with a podcast in the background so I can relate. I envy your timing on 72, I guessed on them during my pt and got them all but 1, did not have that luck with viruses :/ grouping games are my forte so if i see them i'm like, "sweet this will take 7 minutes max" but with the pattern games I will probably spend the next 3 weeks trying to get them down.34iplaw wrote:Just finished chapter 5 of Manhattan LSAT RC. How do you like Manhattan RC? I just finished the trainer and have those new in the background just for some techincal work, figured i'd read them in between PTs
I dunno. I like it so far but I really don't know if the book or any are really targeted to get someone from -6 to -3 or better on RC. I dunno. I may try timing stuff and try PTs while skipping passage with fewest questions unless it seems super easy.

Dude I feel you mentality is so key. Heard a good quote that talked about not being able to control anything but your positive mindset on test day, and to just embrace that and let the skills you've built up do the work for you. Hopefully everybody kills it on test day!dj9i27 wrote:Rewatching 7sage is a really good idea, I haven't watched any of their videos in like 2 months. Reviewing the LR section from PT54 that I went -1 on, and I circled a lot of questions that i was "unsure" of than needed. I think it's good anyways that for the majority of the ones that i circled, i understood why i got it right during the timed section, but i wanted to review it anyways so I circled it.

PT18 S3 P2 #13
A) is too strong.
D) are the insights basically the qualifications of true authors argument in paragraph 3.
...i.e. AV for passage basically distills to, "these historians are total idiots, but even idiots make some valid points (paragraph 3)"
I find that I'm spending more time in the passage than I have previously and less in questions. Purposefully skipping passages that sound familiar for the time being

Alright alright, PT 71 this morning for a 177. Feeling good about my decision to retake.
LR1: -2
LG: -1
LR2: -1
RC: -2
Ok, now time for the rant: How on EARTH did Sept only curve to -12 while this test was -14?! Everything about Sept was harder than this test. EV. ER. Y. THING.

I think coming off a high from yesterday really fucked me today,
lol pt 72 - 172
-5 RC
-3 lr1
-3 lr 2
-0 games
I just did not want to do this test so I finished every section with like 5 minutes left, I'm sure I could have picked up a few extra points if I just didn't want to get this test over with. I'll have to try to work on maintaining focus in my PT's. Pretty sure I just wasted a PT.
After doing the BR, I should have only like 2 points overall in LR, all of my mistakes in LR were just dumb reading mistakes (probably from going too fast).
ALSO how is the curve for this test so forgiving?
