I found some threads on TLS when I googled which test prep class to take. I read some things about self studying being better so I was going to do that but when I mentioned self studying to my parents my mom was like "NO! You must take an in class prep course because I know thats best and you will be at a disadvantage if you don't take one." I'm just happy I researched enough to know not to take Kaplan, but I could've definitely gone with a cheaper online prep course option. And I ended up self studying after anyway.zacboro wrote:I just wish I would've found TLS before I bought all of my materials. For example, I spent quite a bit of money on the "Powerscore Deconstructed LSAT!" Which is just a PT with explanations for every answer... Which, don't get me wrong, they were very useful and helpful, but watching the free velocity videos or Manhattan explanations would've just as beneficial.. And I definitely could've went without purchasing the RCBible..

BLM, you are the king of multi-post. Not suggesting that you do it, but I can see you finding an amazing back and forth discussion on TLS, and right in the middle, C-C-C-C-Combo-Breaker!biggestlawman wrote:![]()

Re: June 2015 Re-Takers Study Thread
So I've gotten further into the Trainer, and I really like the format. I was planning on skipping over LG sections entirely since I'm fairly confident in LG (& feel that more drilling + more JY is sufficient), but I liked the LG sections (so far). I'm just over half way through the book now. Would highly recommend.
Also in the process of building out my calendar for the last two months. Slated to take 16 PTs in the month of April, starting tomorrow (today making further headway on Trainer + drilling).

That's one of the reasons I'm taking it in June instead of october because if I don't want to study in may I'm definitely not gonna want to study in Augustzacboro wrote:I just realized how much harder it's going to be to focus on studying since it's nice outside now then when I had to study for Feb and it was freezing and snowy outside.

Sames. I already have fun outdoor things planned for the whole summer. I'm studying my butt off now and praying I won't have to retake in October.cheesy145 wrote:That's one of the reasons I'm taking it in June instead of october because if I don't want to study in may I'm definitely not gonna want to study in Augustzacboro wrote:I just realized how much harder it's going to be to focus on studying since it's nice outside now then when I had to study for Feb and it was freezing and snowy outside.

re-taking after fucking up in Feb. although I don't know what exactly I fucked up on
Done 7 PTs since gearing up for a retake in June. I think I got LR down well since I typically go -3 or less
RC is bad though varying between -7 to -5 on average
LG is a real toss up, sometimes I crush certain games/sections going -0, other times I do super shitty like the JUNE 2000 CDs game and end up -5 or more.
but I needs that 170 in june

Work needed. But the good news, if you go about it in the right way, you will get there. I am in the same boat.PoopNpants wrote:re-taking after fucking up in Feb. although I don't know what exactly I fucked up on

Re: June 2015 Re-Takers Study Thread
I'm doing the Flaw packet today. I'd like to try to do packets corresponding to each chapter that I finish w/ the Trainer, so I'm a little late in starting to do that (as I finished the Flaw ch. a little ways back). Still - it's been helpful. Done 130 Flaw Qs today. Doubtful that I'll get all ~287 or whatever done this evening. I'll write a PT tomorrow & BR it, then Monday will finish up the Flaw packet I suppose, then move on to SA packet to catch up to where I'm at with the Trainer.biggestlawman wrote:A little bit behind you for now. Re: June 2015 Re-Takers Study Thread
Hello!
Bogus LSAT score and currently waitlisted at a school I really want to attend...
Considering taking the June LSAT for a scholarship offer (and to get off the waitlist if I don't get accepted before)
I took a Kaplan class that laid out my entire schedule. Now, I will obviously be self-studying so I was wondering how you all organize your materials?
Do you just focus on one book/one LSAT prep company at a time for a particular section?
Or just take as many PTs as possible and try to find explanations online?

Depends on how much fresh material you got i.e. how much of the PTs 1 thru 73 or whatever. Id say take timed PTs, afterwards blind review thoroughly. Try to add in a 5th section from some prior test in order to replicate the 4 scored sections plus the experimental section too.IPlaw09 wrote:Hello!

As far as explanations I look on the Manhattan forums for LR and RC and 7sage for LG explanations

I really don't think it matters.zacboro wrote:Okay, so if I'm devoting two days a week to LSAT for the next four weeks and I wanna drill RC and LR, should I do 50% of each subject each day or just 100% each day? And I'm gonna randomly do some LG some other day
I'd say 50/50 though just to break up the monotony a bit and possibly gauge progress on the second day rather than waiting an entire week.

I concur, but more for the latter rationale. A week is a long time and I'd feel 'out of shape' mentally if I let it all go for a week.
