PT 50

Score 171
RC: -4 (All four on the last passage. Riddle Basins can go to Hell).
LR I: -3
LG: -0
LR II: -2

I felt pretty good about my 171 especially since the test played to my weakness rather than my strengths. 28 RC questions and only 22 LG. Riddled Basins was by far the hardest RC passage I have encountered, and it did not help that I had only 7 minutes remaining when I began the passage.
-9 for 171. Wtf? Lol. Solid raw score/scale score
Not sure if that is high or low ^ but for PT on the conversion chart for PT50 i.e converting raw score to scaled score a 91 (-9) corresponds to a 171. I just took a look at the Lsac book, from a quick glance 91 appears to yield a score as high as 174 on one test and 168 on another.
-9 for a 171 is insanely rough. When people refer to an LSAT curve, they are referring to number wrong for a 170. For example, "How the hell was September a -12?"
I'm still kind of lost. Rough as in you usually score higher with -9 or rough as in..?
-9 should typically be (at least more recent tests) closer to a 173/174. A test is considered to have a hard curve these days if -12=170. -9=171 is hard. But yeah. Rough as in usually a -9 is higher than a 171.
Well that's good to hear. My recent 175 and 174 were -5 and -6 respectively, though I presume the most recent tests are harder. Are you aware if the most recent test include a larger distribution of LR and LG? The tests I have been currently taking have 22LG, 50/51LR, and 27/28RC. Of the entirety of test I have taken, I really prefer the 23LG, 51/52LR, 26RC distribution.
On recent tests, 50-51 LR is pretty standard. On the ones I have done there is that ball-buster 26 Q LR section, which for me tends to be tight timing wise.

TBH I dont mind too much either way on LR. The 28RC sections really grind my gears, I find it hard to finish in time without short changing one passage. Also only 22 questions on LG ticks me off since that section for me is essentially free points (-0).

Yeah I hear ya...and I agree. RC is a pain in the ass and LG is the one you want to have more questions haha

Took PT 62 this morning and went -1 LG, -1 LR, -3 LR, AND -10 RC hahahaha!!! For reference, i usually go -3 - -5 on RC. Don't know what it was but I got absolutely destroyed! Still a 169 though with my abysmal RC, so all in all it wasn't terrible, but I will admit that I laughed pretty hard when I got to my RC score.

PT 73 today, with two experimentals to start
162, big drop :(

RC -5
LR-4
LG-7 completely blew this section wtf
LR-7

Think burnout might be getting to me... last two sections did not go well. -7 on LG is horrible for me considering those are my freebie points. Think that this indicates I need a little break, hopefully scores will jump back up to high 160s after I take a day off.

I don't know if anyone else is with me on this, but I'm really ready to just take this test now and be done with it.

Pt 63 - 175

Lr1: -1
Lr2: -2
Lg: -0
Rc: -2

Raw: 96

Best score to date ! I thought I got killed on the first Passage for RC , for some reason I couldn't get my self to understand the stupid baby seal passage. Fortunately all of the questions were really easy.

Took PT43 this morning with PT27's LG as a 5th section. The extra LG wrecked me. It's the one that has a brutal game where you have to organize snakes and lizards that can be a combination of male and female. Total time sink that game. Did better on the actual LG though. My RC performance once again was terrible and also compounded by the fact that I suddenly had the urge to take a power shit right in the middle of it lmao. Didn't have time to do any of the last passage's questions and was already at -6 up to that point.

RC: -11 (omfg)
LR1:-0
LR2:-3
AR: -2

Score: 85/167

If I could get my RC score to comparable numbers with my other sections, I would be so elated. Gonna review that PT27 LG because nothing about that snake and lizard game was intuitive to me and I only did two points better than when I first took it. Silver lining though, I'm feeling pretty good on LR.

PT 22 S1 P3 #20 anyone? Passage on CEO responsibility and morality.
[+] Spoiler
A vs E

I was sort of stuck between the two and ended up going with E b/c I felt it was more about acting immorally but I'm not certain whether morality is really discussed in a positive or negative direction in the passage. I think I may have let my worldview choose the answer on this.
And for 19 which I got right....
[+] Spoiler
A is wrong b/c we only know they would likely eat serve their interests by pursuing profits... we don't know that they are actually obligated.

Haha I think that is a few too many to do in a row. Maybe throw a LG or LR section between every 4-8 passages.

Yeah, you might've let your own views shape your decision.
A is the most clear because the passage talks about public good,
not that something is morally wrong, automatically eliminating D and E.

Actually, the passage contradicts this statement via the first sentence of the third paragraph.
Coincidentally, that exact sentence also leads to the correct answer in B when it talks about CEOs' primary concern.

Yeah, I, am trying to reinforce good RC habits. However, I didn't realize it causes brain damage holy god.

Today I voted and finished my best PT ever!

PT 54: 177 -3RC, -0LR, -0LG, -1LR

My LR looks to finally be coming along! I think I'm going to spend some time drilling RC speed next. I had to guess on a big portion of the last RC passage =(.

The more I think about RC, the more I feel that the true test of reading comprehension comes from interpretation of the answer choices than the passage itself. That is to say, I feel like if I could give the answer to the questions in my own words, I would do much better than I am now. I never feel like I don't understand the passage and the concepts therein after having read it, but interpretation of the answer choices is where I get tripped up. Oh well.

Hey man, just practice! At the start of my studying I was averaging -8 on RC. I've come a long way from there, and I believe you can too. Maybe you should spend sometime in your review doing like an autopsy and for every question you got incorrect go ahead and try to find like the line numbers that prove each of the correct answers. Honestly RC is A LOT like LG, in that if you have the correct answer you should be able to prove that you have the correct answer. Additionally, I think some part of RC is about confidence once you get over the idea that RC is the boogeyman of the LSAT the passages will become more intuitive and less daunting.

Appreciated. Yeah I guess I felt like the passage wasn't really talking about what is morally right but rather what is morally required if that makes sense. I did just notice a line in the first paragraph saying "without regard to the public good" which kind of reinforces A a bit more.
