too long.

sure, I might as well take PT40 as well since it'll be mostly a retake for me and I won't be wasting anything. worst case scenario is I bomb it and it motivates me to study again

This also surprised me. HYS does not seem like a viable option unless you have rich parents footing the bill (or financial aid actually helps but my experience with UG financial aid suggests that's unlikely). It may have to do with the peculiar psychology of people who use TLS... many of the people here are very strivery and would do anything for that preftige.

But that's okay. When we're making bank a few years out of law school and these guys are still making 3k loan payments like pouring little cups of water on the raging dumpster fire that is their net worth, we'll look back at this moment and smile.

ETA: Gamerish: If you have a large number of PTs, I'd start PTing now. Forcing yourself through a large volume of questions under realistic, timed conditions seems to be the key to LSAT prep.

Haha yeah, I can't blame them though. I was hellbent on hitting HYS too, but after a few dinners with HYS alums who've been working like mad for the past 3-5 years to pay off a seemingly unkillable debt, I've changed my mind a bit. Taking out some loans for LS seemed so trivial and reasonable until I saw how much it was constricting their lives and peace of mind. The scary part was how much they dominated at OCI and got sick gigs, but STILL struggled with paying off dat $$$. I can't imagine how brutal it would be for someone with that kind of debt and without a lucrative af job or amazing LRAP.

The thing is, HYS is great for non-biglaw gunners who likely won't have to worry too much about the debt. If you have generic biglaw goals, then another T13 with a full ride makes way more sense.

Judge me however you want but if HLS was an option for me I would take it just for the prestige and being able to say I went to HLS.

Can't wait to see a_parm choosing HLS over Hamilton in a thread, and Desert Fox flipping his shit. Then a_parm just posts a Haters Gonna Hate gif. I'm counting on you a_parm. Actually, we all need to do this. My desire for HYS has been rekindled.

This. Not everyone wants big law. And for some of those people, HYS may make more sense then CCN with a full scholly.

ETA: Like I said before, I would argue (in general) Y definitely makes more sense, S maybe, and H maybe (but less so then S).

ETA 2: But yeah, if all I wanted was Big Law, of course a full ride at CCN makes more sense. It's really a no brainer in that case.

Powescore LR Bible just came in the mail. What was the best way to approach this book? Just read straight through, or skip around to chapters that you feel you need the most help with?

I read straight through it. It can be used either way, but I suspect the authors intended some sort of order.

I'd just go straight through. I bet they build on each other.

haha, I went through that frenzy twice. I'm feeling a third frenzy coming on, this time tempted to buy the Trainer & maybe gain access to Velocity RC.

Btw, I'm pretty curious about your study plan if you're ever inclined to post it.

I think The Trainer is definitely worth it for LR.

And I'm a retaker so probably just drilling and PT's. I don't really need to actually learn anything new necessarily. I may read The Trainer again for kicks or look over the notes I took on it since it's been a year since I cracked that open.

The parallel ones just because they're such a huge time-sink for me.
how do you typically approach these rigo?
Skip them and save them for last, and then just cross my fingers and hope for the best.
My main priority is not wasting time on them until I've answered all the other questions, but if don't think I have any real question-specific strategy for them other than grunting through each AC.

It feels wrong to be transitioning over to the June thread from Febbers.

That said, we need to come up with a cute nickname. Juners? Sounds too similar to Juno. And pregnancy scares me.

Do you have many fresh PTs?

I've found that I don't really remember PTs that I took many months ago (say, last Oct). So I think/hope they'd still be useful.

I have 15-20 fresh PT's, and I agree with you on the remembering thing so I'm not too concerned with using retakes. I may remember the arc subject matter a bit but it's been a long time so I definitely don't remember any questions.

I started my 12 week program today. I am using lawschooli's 12 week prep, including the lrb, lgb, lsat trainer, and practice tests 1-60. I wanted to make sure this is a really good guide to the lsat before it was too late to change course for the June test date. Any info would be great! thanks

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
