+1. We suppose to do our best in whatever we do. Preparation is the best way.Gemini wrote:Ignore those people. I've realized the "elitism" of TLS a long time ago. Let's be honest, there are those people who are like "Haha you got a 170? Good luck at TTT, loser!" Even so, I accept it. If these people don't like the elitism on the boards, then no one asks them to post or to even come to this site.Adjudicator wrote:It is ironic that we are called elitists for actually working hard to prepare, but the people who just show up thinking that they are entitled to succeed are not?
Am I going to be an elitist when I study harder than others in law school, too?
Or when I work harder as a lawyer?
But working hard like many of us do and earning a great score is definitely not being elitist.

I just wanted to say thank you for this thread. I got a very much needed laugh.
This thread really put me at ease. Everytime I looked at one and laughed, I kept saying to myself "see, you're not that bad"....lol
The old ones from the beginning of the thread are hysterical..
"Dude, what score are you trying for"?
"Oh 150 bro"....
WTF LOL
Thanks everyone!!

Re: Overheard at the LSAT
Sort of OT... but I was taking the GMAT and the following happened:
A HUGE, big, nasty lady came in a minute late, and the proctor let her in.
She decides to sit right next to me. She smells.
5 minutes after the test starts, she lets out the biggest, nastiest fart... and then just gets up and leaves.
It was like someone paid her to come screw up my test. sigh.

A girl in my room didn't have a plastic bag to hold her stuff in so she stuck every single thing she had with her into her hair - as if that solved the issue. Her thong was also on full display.

Unless he asked her/she told him, I doubt he knows why she forgot her bag.darkarmour wrote:Did she not read the rules or something?lnz103 wrote:A girl in my room didn't have a plastic bag to hold her stuff in so she stuck every single thing she had with her into her hair - as if that solved the issue. Re: Overheard at the LSAT
Overheard while walking to my testing center: "I'm not even sure why I'm taking this test. It's not like lawyers get jobs, anyway. My girlfriend was going to take it, but got accepted to her graduate program, so she's not even going to show up."
I wanted to ask which program she applied to, actually.

Re: Overheard at the LSAT
A guy at mine stapled his picture to his ticket. They made him wait for everyone else to check in and then got the head administrators or whatever to ask what to do. They gave him shit for a while ("it says right here, don't staple it") but then eventually I guess they had tape and let him retape it and everything was fine. He genuinely looked like he was about to cry for a while there though.

Re: Overheard at the LSAT
I was about to over-kick the guy beside me for taping his foot in the floor... after 3 months studying I didn't wanted someone who was supposedly finishing the sections within 20 minutes to ruined my performance.. I ruined my performance myself by bombin the test

Unless it's funded most grad programs are just as bad as law.VasaVasori wrote:... I actually think she's really on point. Re: Overheard at the LSAT
Our assistant proctor as the tests are being passed back out after break: "Is it alright that someone just left the room?"
Proctor: "No, that is not alright. That's not alright at all."
Proctor: "No, that is not alright. That's not alright at all."

Re: Overheard at the LSAT
I was curious because I wasn't sure if he was referring to business, medicine, science or some other graduate program. One of my buddy's girlfriends just completed a medical graduate student program that enabled non-science majors to get credits they missed in undergrad so they could apply to medical school. I mean, if the guy's girlfriend was accepted to Wharton B.S., then it would make sense that she wouldn't care because IIRC you don't need a LSAT score to do the dual JD/MBA there (I might be thinking of Harvard - not sure).VasaVasori wrote:OH, I see what he's referring to. I guess it depends on your field, though... supposedly it's pretty easy to find a job with a bio PhD, but that's just what I hear from my professors. Aren't almost all grad programs funded? I know like all of the grad students in our bio dept are funded.Desert Fox wrote:Unless it's funded most grad programs are just as bad as law.VasaVasori wrote:... It was a little off-putting but I thought it was funny b/c A) he didn't know why he was there and B) depending on his major, he may not get a job, either. Sounded like he only signed up because his girlfriend was driven and once she cancelled/pull a no show, he was basically wasting most of a nice Saturday.
