What is a target score though honestly? Everybody's target score is gonna be higher than their "this is what I'd realistically be cool with" score, I'd think. At least that's how it is for me.theugg wrote:lol @ everyone's target score being over 176

I've seen a number of people post that they're already PTing in the 170's. 176+ is probably attainable if you're there with 2 months left.

Yeah, and realistically only a fraction of those people will actually achieve those scores. People don't check the top box because they know they're guaranteed top scores; they do it because they'd feel bad about checking anything lower. Not that there aren't some very smart people ITT who will get 176+, but that's how it goes. Human nature.MrBalloons wrote:What is a target score though honestly? In other news, I'm 40 pages into my research paper and my mind is exhausted. If presented with a logic game right now, I'd probably go into shock and die. So my LSAT prep hiatus will probably continue until the end of the week, when I'll Get Serious and really start studying hard.

Never be afraid to ask. I was getting waivers upon request from mid-T14s a week or two before apps closed this current cycle.
Only got shot down by NYU, Berkeley (no surprise), and Chicago.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
This thread was pretty useful (for triggering "other people got waivers to SchoolX, why didn't I?")
http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... p?t=234905
And taken from my sent folder with minor alterations:
Good [morning/afternoon] or Dear [Dean/Director/AdComm]:
I was wondering if [LAW SCHOOL] offered merit application fee waivers, and if I qualified for one. I will be applying with:
LSAT: 1XX
GPA: X.XX
LSAC#: LXXXXXXXX
Best Regards,
TheProdigal
This got me waivers to Penn on down (excepting B) with a 16X LSAT.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Alright, so my score are going up even though LG (my weakest section) isn't improving ...lol.
PTJ07 161 (LG-7) (cold, no experimental)
PT64 166 (LG -7)
PT40* 167 (LG -4) (broken up in half)
PT65 168 (LG -7).
Most of my gains are coming from LR, interestingly enough. I clearly need to get to -0 LG because I'm leaving a lot of points on the table by not getting to/rushing on the last game. Last month I exclusively drilled linear games, and am switching to grouping drills this month (I'm thinking my sub optimal strategies on grouping are really slowing me down), so hopefully by Sept. I can start averaging -2.
I really feel it's going to go either (nerves, 164ish), (3 games, 168ish), or (4 games, 172ish), on the day. Meh. Just gotta hope for the best.

Totally agree here. I don't think I put 176+ (think I put went with the 174+ choice), But I'd definitely be cool with a score less than that. That being said, still full steam ahead for the highest score that I can get for sure[/quote]MrBalloons wrote:What is a target score though honestly? I'd be happy with anything 168 or above tbh but might as well aim for that 180 yolo

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I've got a 167 from June in the bag that I had with very little drilling and like 5 PTs. So I think pushing into the 170s is an attainable goal for me. It better be, because 3.6x and 167 puts me on the outside looking in at T14.

I just realized I misgraded yesterday and actually went -3 on the non-LG stuff and not -4. Which puts me up to a 171.

One thing that really helped me when studying for the LSAT was buying a wall calendar and writing down the time that I studied at the end of each day. I'm sure that plenty of you don't require shame as a motivator, but for me having how much I worked (or didn't) right in front of me at the end of the week really helped me to buckle down.

I love this idea. Also a good way to visualize progress on PTs!

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Due to stupid studying habits early on in my LSAT study journey, I took PT 39 for 3rd (yes) time today. I don't have any fresh tests left besides the one in the latest SuperPrep.
Scored a 174 but not banking on much as far as having a reliable PT range.
