Tomorrow? What's wrong with today? You've even got day light savings time giving you an extra hour tonight. At least play a logic game or something right now.chizzy wrote:thanks, ill probably have to force myself to start tomorrowdosto5 wrote:Sorry to hear that; it's easier said than done but just take a pt, any pt, without thinking about consequences. Do it. I'm almost enjoying my waltz through the Trainer right now.chizzy wrote:

Also, I don't mean to come off as an unsympathetic asshole, but someone needs to voice how important every day of studying is when the prep period for december is so brief.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
Just took my worst PT in months.
PT 44- 164
RC: -6
LR: -7
LG: -2
LR: -3
Initial reaction: Holy ....
Did a blind review of just the questions I did not even get to afterwards (15 mins) and that one leads to RC: -3, LR: -3, LG: -0, LR: -2 for a 172. (I told myself I wouldn't focus on BR scores but I'm desperate for some comfort.) I'm not MASSIVELY bothered since I was trying to conquer RC specifically but immediately got caught in time sapping questions that I wouldn't move on from. I think I wasted 7 minutes combined on number 6 for passage 1 and number 11 on passage 2 (both of which I got wrong fyi) which left me with about 5 minutes total for the last passage (went -3, all left blank). RC failure created immediate panic which did not subside until games.
I'm reviewing through MLSAT's forums as I write this and some of these questions I missed are super easy. 10 of the 18 I missed were all questions I left blank (no point guessing on practice) which I correctly answered during blind review.
ALSO, I was on synchro while I took this PT. Cause for concern?
I feel I should be quite upset by this score. Yet, here I am all optimistic and glass half full. Synchro's doing?

I'm going through some RC lessons and drills. RC feels so automatic; it's making me more annoyed about the -5 in Oct.snagglepuss wrote:Do it. I'm almost enjoying my waltz through the Trainer right now.chizzy wrote:

Re: December 2013 Retakers
I like to think that learning to let go on time-consuming questions is a necessary skill for success. On RC in particular, I've been seeing a lot of advice that says to trust your initial gut feeling on the questions that you waffle over. The Trainer is really clearing up my problem with flip-flopping on RC questions, because I have a tendency to over-read and force myself to buy into a wrong AC. I like the feeling of letting the easy answer come to me and moving on.retaking23 wrote:

Re: December 2013 Retakers
First PT since October LSAT.
PT 50 -172
RC: -3
LR1: -0
LG: -1
LR2: -4
I started the LSAT Trainer last week specifically focusing on LR, I feel like it's already made a difference, can't wait to tackle the next few chapters!
What's the opinion about recycling PT's? If you only took them once and don't remember them is that legit or should everything be taken with a big grain of salt.

I cosign this. Put more time into PT review and use LSATQA to identify weaknesses that can be drilled.dosto5 wrote:Four PTs in five days is a lot, especially when you're just getting back into prep. Your 164 is probably a combination of slight burnout with a tougher test. Stick to drilling or doing sections for the next few days to change things up. The progress feeling is probably due to being back in study mode.retaking23 wrote:Nope. fourth since October, all in the last five days. went 170, 170, 169, 164. Re: December 2013 Retakers
Hey guys/gals so I was hoping to get some input on how to best schedule the rest of Nov. I only work Weds and Thurs. I'm thinking of doing back to back PTs on Mondays and review on Tuesdays. Drill weaknesses on Weds and Thurs after work. Another PT on Fridays with review same day. Drill Saturdays with Sundays off. Thoughts? Should I focus more on PTs or drilling? Or is this a balanced approached?

Re: December 2013 Retakers
I would review on the same day (even at most just a couple hours later) when the material's still fresh. That way you know exactly why you got a question wrong: timing, misreading, not understanding the stimulus, etc. Also, I would recommend doing some light drilling rather than taking the day off on Sunday even if it's just one logic game.Dr.Zer0 wrote:Hey guys/gals so I was hoping to get some input on how to best schedule the rest of Nov. Whether you focus on PTs or drilling depends on where you're at right now. If you're just trying to keep your score consistent, probably more PTs. But if you need a boost in a certain section, maybe more drilling until you get it down and then focus on PTs.

God that Mauve Dinos was a b-word. Only had 10 minutes to complete it (first two games took WAY too long), which caused me to leave the last three questions on that game unanswered
.
The game itself wasn't very difficult, its just that there are so many god damn possibilities.
