Do you guys mean writing down the rules? What do you do instead?

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
I like to write the rules down, having a visual is nice. My goal is usually to get the diagraming and inferences done in under 2 minutes per game, which gives me 4-8 minutes depending on the game to answer the questions. And whenever I run into an question that asks "which one of these must go in blank" i go back and make sure I got all my inferences and often times those kinds of questions lead me to a key inference i may have missed that takes me through the rest of the game.dasani13 wrote:Do you guys mean writing down the rules? Maybe I'm a little fried but I can't stand conditional logic. So weak.

I'd recommend a 20 minute nap (make sure you wake up - set multiple alarms if you have too!). Once you wake up, make some coffee and take a short walk to get some fresh air.wealtheow wrote:those snoozes are very dangerous for me. they somehow always turn into full-blown bedtimes...HeavenBeyond wrote:I hope it helpswealtheow wrote:hope you like it! finishing up the flaw review this evening. good stuff.HeavenBeyond wrote:Start the LSAT Trainer tonight!

It may benefit you writing a prep-test slightly fatigued. Depending on your nerves come test day, you may not get that much sleep.

Checking in! Only started studying a couple of weeks ago so I have a lot to catch up on. Luckily I don't find LR or RC difficult, only missing 1 or 2 a section atm. Timing on the Logic games is a pain in the ass though. Cannot get under 10 minutes

Is there a particular type of game that gives you trouble?

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
Not that I've noticed. I usually manage to get them correct, although I've started to realise that I miss 'could be true' questions more than others. It's just that my mind takes a while to process all the information. It's weird because I actually finish well ahead of time on the other two sections.tofuspeedstar wrote:alloverthat wrote:Checking in! I've just bought the LG Bible though, and reading through the first chapter has been pretty helpful. Making templates of possible outcomes when there are restricted options is something I never did before. I've given myself two weeks to work through the LG Bible, then I plan to do a couple of PT's a day until D-Day.
Does this sound like a good plan? I feel like everyone on here really knows what they're talking about..

It's what I did. Usually if you spend a little extra time on the hypos you can finish the game faster. But it varies from time to time. If there's no hypos at first in your mind don't waste your time trying to make one. Just make a small diagram next to the questions. If there's restricted stuff on games like in/out games, or sequencing games with really specific rules then the hypos make it that much faster.
I have trouble with could be true questions too. I usually end up drawing a lot of hypos for it. So I save them for last until I find a more efficient way to do them. Going through the LSAT trainer right now.
Re: your plan. Everyone learns the material at a different rate. If two weeks is enough for you to get through the bible then go for it. I absolutely SUCK at RC so I'm spending a good chunk of the time left before December to work on that.

The LGB in two weeks should definitely be doable. I went through it in three days. (Of course, I was at the library all day those three days...alloverthat wrote:Not that I've noticed. I'm still very angry that the Trainer hasn't been delivered yet... I should've been done with it today according to my study plan.

On a different note, has anyone heard anything about Fox's LR Encyclopedia?

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
Took a BP class, then went through the videos, stopped studying for a week or two and it has proved to be disastrous - can't seem to get back on track. Now it's been more like a month!
Any tips for December? Also, any studying materials people highly recommend this far out for December for intense 6 or so week training? Thanks! I have the LG/LR Bibles but going through BP I am afraid the different strategies would make it more confusing..

Can someone please write a few sentences to help me with Flaw questions? I don't think there's enough time for me to order the Trainer and incorporate it into my PTing schedule. I did the drills and didn't do so well. Thanks a lot in advance.

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
PT 52, though was in effect a 7 section PT. Did a “warm-up” LR and LG before the test, then:
LR1 −1
LG −0 (totally blanked on final game. need to brush up on dem pure sequencing-conditionals)
LRX −6 (yup…fatigue. Never get this many wrong on LR)
LR2 −4 (got Q2, Q7, Q8 wrong)
RC −2
93/99
174. Considering how tired I was by LRX, I’ll take it. Literally though, killed me.
Cracking the mid-90s raw score plateau seems to be the toughest jump. You guys recommend drilling or heavy PTing at this point?

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
How are you combatting the RC problem? I apparently suck at "main point" questions, even though they seem like the easiest. Best thing for me is just to tell myself to slow down, and make sure I can really rule out all the other options.tofuspeedstar wrote:alloverthat wrote:Not that I've noticed. Are you good with assumptions questions? If so, just treat them as assumption questions, see how that works for you.dasani13 wrote:Can someone please write a few sentences to help me with Flaw questions? Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
Confession: I'm starting with a 150 cold diagnostic. Is getting a 168+ possible? LR: 16/25 & 12/25, LG: 14/23, and RC: 17/27. The LR is kicking my ass. If at all possible, I feel the RC section makes one feel like they need to learn how to read again.
I think I'm going to sit the December exam out. Did anyone else start as low as I did? It feels like the large majority of people started in the 160s...

It's possible... It would depend a lot on you. But it won't be easy. I would guess mid 160s as more probable.modernista wrote:Confession: I'm starting with a 150 cold diagnostic.
