+1 this is exactly how I feel about it. Although I would give thought to retaking a 172 since I'm a splitter.lynn.wibi wrote: Similar to yours:

Ditto. In a way I will hate to get a 172. It's right between "I'm okay with this" and "NOPE, let's retake."principalagent wrote:+1 this is exactly how I feel about it. Although I would give thought to retaking a 172 since I'm a splitter.lynn.wibi wrote: Similar to yours:

Just woke up with one million regrets. Drunk me made Key Lime Pie, donated too much of my money to charity, and adopted a rabbit.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:Rosemary olive vodka?

I've been really hot and cold about applying to UGA. I'm kinda worried that if they offered me enough $$$ I'd end up staying here regardless of where else I get in because it's convenient. I wouldn't have to move again, I would only be an hour away from my family, COL is super cheap.Slippin' Jimmy wrote: COL is why I'm floating an app to UF, even if I miss my target LSAT by a bit Im still looking at full ride + maybe stipend there. COL is dirt cheap there (even more so with a stipend) and I do have strong legal ties in Florida, so it still is a viable option despite being much lower ranked than all my other targets.
I always wonder what the mail people thought when they were seeing Harvard stuff in my mail in the middle of nowhere (no, I'm not going there and wasn't convinced to apply)Slippin' Jimmy wrote:Got my first non TTT emails! UT and UF sent me mail today.
I turned down my t30 undergrad with a full+stipend and I currently have 0 regrets about doing that. Don't settle, you'll always wonder "what if "Ntp73821 wrote:I've been really hot and cold about applying to UGA. Yeah, I know this guy who turned down Cornell and went to Georgia (I think he graduated this year from law school or is going to be a 3L). I'm thinking about asking him if he'd do it again. I can't imagine NOT having regrets.chargers21 wrote: I turned down my t30 undergrad with a full+stipend and I currently have 0 regrets about doing that. Don't settle, you'll always wonder "what if "
Well fear not because I've set my goals and expectations higher than my actual abilities, so disappointment is imminent.Jack_Kelly wrote: That definitely makes me feel like an underachiever

For me the former. I enjoyed IB but couldn't envision myself doing it for 10 years. Your friends may find it incomprehensible if they're doing M&A and are dead set on going to the buy side in general simply because their earning potential is pretty high. A first year associate can earn over 200k in bulge brackets, and a good junior analyst in big hedge funds can earn over 250k. That said, many finance people burn out pretty quickly, and most of my friends just see IB as a stepping stone to whatever they want to do next.LesPaul1995 wrote:Im curious if the majority of you want to become lawyers because you believe you will enjoy the work or that you seek the pay/prestige and do not know what else to do. I ask because most of my cohort are of the finance breed and I swear they despise law so much because they believe it is boring, and can't imagine why I would want to become a lawyer. It's as if to the finance community that law and medicine has gone completely out of vogue. I think future attorneys are just intellectually interested in the type of work they will one day be doing, and that is incomprehensible to the type A personalities that finance and MBA types are interested in doing.
You're not the scrub. Anything above a 138 (cooley's 25th) for me would make me not retake.Slippin' Jimmy wrote:I'm the scrub of the thread:zkyggi wrote:120-169 : Retakelynn.wibi wrote:Similar to yours:MediocreAtBest wrote:120-169 depressionJack_Kelly wrote:I'm trying to guess my exact emotions for each score

Law is by far the most viable career option I have (assuming I graduate at a T20 or higher school). My other two realistic career options are in politics and IT. The former at the entry level requires more hours and is less stable than big law, plus it pays much less, both initially and farther down the road. IT I have done at the entry level for about a year and I could not stand this being my career, its miserable and with my qualifications (or lack thereof) my earning potential is severely limited.LesPaul1995 wrote:Im curious if the majority of you want to become lawyers because you believe you will enjoy the work or that you seek the pay/prestige and do not know what else to do. I think whether one is a splitter or not can change from school to school. My GPA is below median at UVA, so if I score high enough on my LSAT I guess you could consider me a splitter there. On the other hand, I am above median at Duke and at the 75th for Cornell so I wouldn't be a splitter there (although I could be a reverse splitter if I bombed the LSAT...).QueenBAYder wrote:I'm curious the type of ugpa we're talking about when we talk about splitters. My ugpa was a 3.67. I know that's closer to the 25th percentile for some of the t14- does that mean I'm technically a splitter?
