Also, if anyone is interested in a study partner (not skype but email) let me know.
You've got enough time. My diagnostic was 151. I think that is right around where most people are when they take it cold.

Being sick on test day, suffering from insomnia or getting a bad night's sleep before the test, nerves, huge distraction at test center, medical issues, mental fatigue, etc.

But that aside, sorry Feb didn't work out. I'm in the same boat and am pretty much following the same plan as you mentioned. Started on the Cambridge packets last week.

Hi all - I applied this cycle, but planning to retake and reapply for higher scholarships.

Is it better to take the june or october lsat?

Why not both?
If June goes poorly then you have October as a backup.

The reason is that most people aren't very smart. There are plenty of people out there who couldn't get 177 if their life depended on it. They just don't use TLS.
rofl
I shouldn't have implied that there are no idiots on TLS, because there certainly are. I was just trying to say that TLS gives us a very distorted perspective. If I only discussed the LSAT with people from school, I'd probably consider a 160 a magnificent achievement and a 170 an indication of profound genius. But from the TLS perspective, 160 is very poor and 170 is basically average.

I'm standing by my statement about some people being practically incapable of 177. Especially on TLS, people like to pretend that intelligence or innate ability is only a small factor, but it's not. These people who post on TLS about getting 150ish scores after studying for months and/or taking classes should just accept that maybe law isn't for them.

Not possible. I'll either do well and get 174+ or get fucked by LG and get like 168 lol. No middle ground.

Sure, I suppose my point was more me trying to logically reassure myself that scoring exceptionally well is possible with sufficient work. Not the most profound point (more work = greater potential!).

Anyway, here's hoping prep for June is better.

Tonight is my last night of going out.
Tomorrow I'm making copies of LG drilling packets and getting back in study mode.
I've looked at some LR briefly this week and the utter dread has turned to mild excitement.
Just 4 more months. It's go time!

I am taking the basic 3 month package by 7sage ( since the exam is just 4 months away). I am confused about what other supplementary books should I take. I know tls people love power score bibles and the lsat trainer but at some forums many people encouraged against it.

I've been using the Trainer to supplement after taking a course and that seems to be useful for LR and RC. I've heard great things about the Manhattan books

eta: maybe you should give this thread a proper title page with links to books and things now OP?

How do you guys evaluate PTs that you didn't take under test conditions?

For example, if you are drilling individual sections and eventually get through an entire prep test, I'm assuming you still add up your score out of curiosity. (I know I do). What stock, if any, do you put in that score?

Also, for the PT you use for experimental sections for your real PTs. What I'll do (and what I assume everyone else does) is use an entire PT as extra sections for 4 tests. After those 4 tests, I check what I got on the test that I used for experimental sections.

I tend to put more stock in the latter, b/c even though I didn't take it straight through, every section was done under test conditions.

Also curious to know how far everyone deviates from their actual PT scores when they do this.

So I went to what would be my test centre today. I was surprised by how ... few people there were there. I counted like 3 rooms for the LSAT, with about 15 people per room. A lot of people running to the test centre at around 8:25.

I'm guessing normal for Feb and Jun. September was packed, but the same test center isn't even offering today or June.

Confession: I have been focusing only on LG. =/ ... My LR is pretty weak too and its 50% of the test! I don't know how to approach LR though. I bought the 7sage course and am doing only LG lessons in it. I have MLSAT LR, 7sage, and the Trainer. HELP!

Sounds like you have the right tools... you just need to use them. Start by reading MH LR.

I'm not going to be much help to you, because:

1) I only take PTs in 5-section tests. Never taken just a section at a time. I don't take them under exact test conditions, insofar as noise/public place, but I do as far as the whole 5-section test thing goes...

2) the experimental section I use from old tests (usually pre-PT20) to replicate weird games, or somewhat different material. I actually find RC tougher back then too. I would value the score of a complete PT taken through experimental sections for the reasons you mentioned.
