To not be poor and in debt obviously, but I want to work in environmental law. I'd also like to run for office eventually.jetsfan1 wrote:ETA: Curious to ask though, what are everyone's career goals after law school?

Too much homework to do before this afternoon, so I'm skipping LG drilling this morning.

Did absolutely nothing today.
Well I did half a sudoku puzzle. Does that count for LG?

Ahh, so are you more interested in the Texas-bound migrant issues or EU? Or more general?AtticusRising wrote:Just noticed my profile still says I'm in Switzerland. I'm now in Houston, Texas. Hahah. Man, I really wish I could find a study buddy. It might help me work through my tiredness. Always tired, so tired after work.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
I hated LG in the beginning, but now they're fun. Almost like a mental break. I hate when a PT has LG to start; I prefer it later on in the test where it can serve as that time to 'relax'. It's not that it's so easy so much as that it requires a very different method of thinking than LR/RC. And there's far more of an active role/approach you can take, whereas w/ RC I'm more or less subjugated to whatever LSAC wants me to read about, then absorb whatever non-interesting info they're throwing out.

Suits is about how to do well on the LSAT, though.

If you learned anything from Suits, it's that you should skip the LSAT and law school and see how long you can be a fraud lawyer for.msp8 wrote:Suits is about how to do well on the LSAT, though.

If you want a show with a more balanced portrayal of what it means to be a lawyer try The Good Wife. It takes the firm politics of Suits and adds in more interesting legal issues and courtroom time.
AND it adds in electoral politics!

And, I actually like The Good Wife, even though I can't stand Alicia.

I'm focusing on Flaw and Parallel Flaw questions today and then devoting the entire weekend to grouping games.
Law and Order is a bland police procedural drama that's been airing for 20 years too long.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
So, I'm officially checking in here, and cancelling my sitting for tomorrow's exam.
I've checked into a few of these threads, but other stuff always got in the way of consistent studying. Right now I'm scoring inconsistently and below my target. I seem to make a couple of stupid mistakes or misreads per test, and wind up confounded by some seemingly easy Q because I've misread it, thus leading to time constraints later. A domino effect.
I'm planning on focusing on LSAT stuff 3 days a week. For the next two weeks, 5 of the 6 days will be focused exclusively on re-reading PS/MH to ensure I have fundamentals down, re-reading notes I've taken from those books, etc. Then I'll get into drilling Cambridge packets (which I've only just started doing anyway), drilling RC passages, and then return to PTing. Later today I'll build a full out calendar until test date.
Would be interested in seeing anyone else's calendars/approaches to studying, too.
As it is, I'm scoring around 169-172 (an extreme low that I had last week was 165, and I've scored higher on a couple). Given that I'll have this additional time, I want to score 174+ now. I actually don't see any reason anyone can't score 177+ -- sure, it's tough, but just constant drilling and making every Q feel innate ought to ensure that top grade. Anyway, that's the aim ... to score 175-range consistently and go into the June exam with that.

Just Starting
Hi. i am just starting for June lsat in the next couple of days say around Feb 8ish. I gave a timed diagnostic test (including experimental) and got 152. Really scared. Hope i am not too late in starting my prep ( but i doubt i can study for more than 4 months).
Also, if anyone is interested in a study partner (not skype but email) let me know.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
The reason is that most people aren't very smart. There are plenty of people out there who couldn't get 177 if their life depended on it. They just don't use TLS.msp8 wrote:I actually don't see any reason anyone can't score 177+
Remember that the median is 150. To me, that is an unfathomably bad score... even my diagnostic was considerably higher. And yet half of people do worse than that.
And even if someone has the intellectual potential to score that high, there's also the matter of overstudying and using time effectively. If someone could get a 172 with 100 hours of studying or a 180 with 500 hours of studying, which should he choose?

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Dirigo, I'm not saying it's guaranteed or anything. Just that it's attainable. And obviously I'm not nearly at that level, so it's all pretty irrelevant ... my point was merely that it takes a fair bit of work, but drilling to the point that every Q type feels innate and formulaic ought to allow one to achieve that. That's my hope, anyway.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
