That's so sweet! Definitely one of my goals to get to one someday. Was in Germany during the World Cup there but couldn't get tickets

Not gonna lie. I'm pretty jealous just hearing that! Hopefully I'll make it down tooanteater1 wrote:I'll be there, my mom is engaged to a pilot... Soooo stoked on the free flights.noleknight16 wrote:Dempsey is on top of his game right now. Happy overall with the performance! Just need to get the center back position figured out and some more consistent scoring from strikers like Altidore and Aguedelo.anteater1 wrote:Seriously right?noleknight16 wrote:I cannot believe the Mensa bullshit is still going on in this thread.
Nice win by the US yesterday though, Dempsey was a stud.
Gonna try to make it to the 2014 Brazil World Cup!!! That would be so much fun

I think that will certainly be one of the more interesting venues. No secret they LOVE to throw money around ($15 mill to Zidane right?) so it will certainly be an extravagant event.noleknight16 wrote:The one in Qatar in 2022 sounds interesting to say the least
And by that time we'll all be successful attorneys who can afford to throw money around

I'm in, as long as I can afford a nice box seat with A/C to keep out the 110 degree heat.anteater1 wrote:I think that will certainly be one of the more interesting venues. Explain to me why quantum particles in a vacuum pop into and out of existence with no noticeable cause. It appears to be spontaneous but how do they know?ampersand5 wrote:guess were not getting our scores today; id put money on tomorrow.

Let's make a tentative plan for box seats, we'll split it three waysPrincetonBound wrote:I'm in, as long as I can afford a nice box seat with A/C to keep out the 110 degree heat.anteater1 wrote:I think that will certainly be one of the more interesting venues. This is not my expertise whatsoever- I am involved with philosophy of physics with a focus on things such as Bohm theory, many worlds, copenhagen etc. Anyways, from what I remember... I cannot answer "why" they pop in and out of existence, but the reason they they are believed to exist is that they can observed/measured by analyzing particles that they interact it with in their brief moments of existence.noleknight16 wrote:Explain to me why quantum particles in a vacuum pop into and out of existence with no noticeable cause. Re: February 2012 Waiting Thread
America and Canada both have a bicameral system. However our senate is unelected and doesn't really do anything. Our head of state (president) is the Queen of England who is represented by the governor general who is sort of like a fire extinguisher. Its there for formalities, the appearance of it makes people happier and is only used in emergencies. Similar to the US we also have a first past the post system for our parliament, however we have many more parties represented. Instead of only having a left and a right party represented, we have the conservatives (centre-right), liberals (left-centre), ndp (socialist-left), greens, bloc Quebecois (want to separate Quebec from Canada).Kit Cloudkicker wrote:ampersand5 wrote:guess were not getting our scores today; id put money on tomorrow.

I didn't unfortunately, I'm a golfer but a big soccer fan due to my spending summers in England during my childhood. My UG has a pretty decent soccer team though.foosbol21 wrote:nole, princeton and anteater, did you all play in undergrad? I'm shocked to see so many soccer fans here. I thought I was the only one...

Alright, just wondering. And yeah, 5th grade definitely counts, especially if it was one of the rec leagues where the kids all just chase the ball in a pack. I miss playing in those leagues...
Jealous of you two for the abroad experiences. I've had to survive on American soccer for too long.
