Re: Things I heard at the DECEMBER LSAT
The only thing that was quasi-close was talking to someone who told me (while we were walking in) they were glad that the "reading" counted twice as much as the "math."
I decided not to engage...or worry about competing with that person for a T1.

Re: Things I heard at the DECEMBER LSAT
some guy asked about what i was writing in my personal statement, i told him....
then he goes on to say that his personal statement was something along the lines of: "we are are lying, cheating, stealing bastards. I am one of those bastards, but luckily I don't deny it. Whats an LSAT score going to mean when I have to defend a person being tried for murder? You should take me because I'm honest, I'm a felon, but I don't deny it"
I looked at him a little puzzled and kinda had to do a double take similar to this:

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if law schools have seen such a personal statement before.

Re: Things I heard at the DECEMBER LSAT
I posted this in the other thread, but here's my favorite from test day:
"I did like 5 practice tests, so I should already know all the questions"
Also, during section 2, some guy behind me slams down his pencil and raises his hand for the proctor to come over. The proctor asked what he wanted and he loudly declared, "IM DONE!" He then grabbed all of his belongings and stormed out.

Funniest thing ITT so farcynthiad wrote:Proctor: The lights in here are on a motion sensor. If there's no movement for two minutes, they switch off. It shouldn't be a problem though, just remember to move around every now and then.
Halfway through section 1: The room is suddenly plunged into total darkness (there are no windows). Cue panicked cries and frantic arm-waving. The lights come back on. Everyone breaths a sigh of relief.
Section 3: Same thing.

Re: Things I heard at the DECEMBER LSAT
Shit, most of the personal statements in the giant PS thread on TLS are derp-filled schlock. That thread pretty much confirms that it's a numbers game, and for good reason at that. If I had to read thousands of these things, I would auto-admit anyone who could just write with some coherence and clarity for a page and half, regardless of the topic. Then I would shoot myself in August.
On topic: my LSAT neighbor was shocked that I had completed the writing section in cursive. He asked me if we were supposed to do that, and then convinced himself that he should have done it to appear smarter.

lol after the break when the proctor was in the process of collecting our answer sheet, i saw one kid hand his scantron to the proctor and for the last 10 questions of section 1,2 and 3 he filled out all B's. i thought that was pretty funny haha.

Yup, I did. Apparently U of R has a stronger TLS presence than I thought. But yeah, I thought I was the only one in the area who overheard that gem of a conversation.

Someone at my testing center (in Alameda, CA) raised his hand before the test and said to the proctor, "Can you tell us when to reset our timers?? I forget sometimes." Hahaha. The whole room burst into laughter.

That actually would had been nice because I forgot to set it every single time except at the first section. Started each passage with*"Read for 1 minute, look at timer... SHIT!, set to 2 minutes go go go!*.cbarlow1016 wrote:Someone at my testing center (in Alameda, CA) raised his hand before the test and said to the proctor, "Can you tell us when to reset our timers?? Half way through RC a proctor interrupted me to ask if a tissue on the ground was mine. I said no. He then asked the person behind me too. Pissed off royally.

Re: Things I heard at the DECEMBER LSAT
I seriously couldn't keep a straight face at the ridiculous, wishful, delusional conversations I was hearing from people.
This girl, assuring her friend: "I mean, Stanford isn't ALL that great. I talked to him, and yeah, they're not really going to care about someone having a Stanford degree when you're from [insert local, rank-less, craptasic law school here], you know?"
Wait, what universe are we in again?
Another enlightening conversation:
"So where do you want to go?"
"I don't really know, I'm just going to apply to law school. Like [insert local, rank-less, craptastic law school here] or something."
"Oh, that's cool, me too."
I'm not sure if these people are unaware of how much law school actually costs or are just delusional.

Proctor: "Now remove second answer sheet for the writing section of the test."
Dude 1: "Second answer sheet? I threw that away. I thought it was scratch paper..."
Dude 2: "Wait. We can have scratch paper?! Why didn't you tell us that before the test?!"
...
Me: Instant confidence boost.

mittz wrote:Just created an account and had to post. Many lulz to share. First, took the LSAT at a TTTT. I am the second person to arrive to find the Dean and several professors are inside the "waiting room" they have set up. The entire 45 minutes I sat there was a giant advertisement for the school, complete with a description of what a typical 1L class is like. They introduced themselves to every single person individually. Granted, some people there were probably genuinely interested, namely the male wearing a sweatshirt with an elaborate crest on the back informing everyone in the room behind him that "you only live once." Surprise, he forgot his passport picture. Apparently that seemed very optional on the admission ticket.
At the break I go to the bathroom where I am stopped by some 50 year old woman wearing pajamas. She grabs me by the arm and asks me if I can "keep my pencil noise down" because I was apparently a huge distraction. I felt like a 6 year old being reprimanded by a degenerate babysitter. When get back in the room I realize she is sitting next to me and asked the proctor if she can move one of us, of course that is completely impossible. I had to spend the rest of the test listening to her grunt loudly every time I put my pencil on my reading comp passage. Needless to say, the sections after the break were a disaster.
Should have dong slapped her for 2 reasons. 1. She was probably crusty and fugly and 2. She will end up at said TTTT and my taxes will go up to pay off her soon to be bankrupt ass.
Seriously, one dong slap to the face could have changed the world.
