I was doing an amazing job of accepting the inevitable awfulness that would be my grade. But then, SOMEHOW, some pesky hope crept into my head; so now I'm anxious.jthel08 wrote:Same here, I was doing ok with the waiting until Friday. I feel the exact same way. The weird part about it is I am actually getting mad at myself for having this sense of hope because I know it's gonna make me feel terrible when I do get my inevitably low score.kgm1990 wrote:I was doing an amazing job of accepting the inevitable awfulness that would be my grade. I had my first vodka water this weekend. Used to talk shit on the stuff but after the sugar rush of rum and coke and the plain unhealthiness of tequila red bull, I found it to be both welcoming and refreshing.

I think the lsat is what causes so many lawyers to be alcoholics.

Well, that does it. I've uploaded the last of the optional essays for my target schools (assuming my score isn't a disaster). My LORs are in and assigned to applications. My applications are completely filled out. The only thing left before my final review is the score itself, and to solicit fee waivers (aside from WUSTL, who already gave me one, because they're just that kind to us 0Ls). I'm hoping to score some of those fee waiver at the Atlanta LSAC Forum.
Come on, gray day!

Have adopted new strategy of assuming I will have to rewrite in December. That way, when score comes in it will only be a confirmation of what I already know (and less disappointing). And if I am wrong, hurrah surprise! Surely this will be v. successful mind game??

Had my first LSAT dream last night, got exactly the score I wanted and woke up feeling so happy. Then realized it was a dream. Hoping for grey day today.

This is about what I've been doing and I feel it's been pretty successful thus far. I'm not nearly as anxious as I'd have expected, and tbh welcome the opportunity to get a higher score.DistrictDisaster wrote:Have adopted new strategy of assuming I will have to rewrite in December. I've also been pounding out my essays, which helps.

I’d be pretty surprised at scores coming today given the holiday.
My best guess is still Wednesday.
I think I was more nervous a couple weeks ago than I am now. I’ve tried hard to internalize the fact that I’m not applying until next year, making this score very low stakes.
But hey, grey week is upon us! Excited for the wait to be over

Glad to know it is working for you. Are you vaguely nauseated? Didn't even know it was a holiday until I got to work in 10 minutes (my rush hour commute usually takes ~25-30 minutes).... in that light, I wouldn't mind if it was [indigenous peoples' day] every day.
Edit: I'm calling grey on Wednesday, scores on Thursday. *goes to check LSAC anyway*

It's more common than you think, mostly because people asked to write the recommendation just say "you write it an I'll sign it."King of the North wrote:Do people actually do this? Asking out of pure curiosity and not sarcasm lol.chewinggum wrote:Does anyone have experience writing their own LOR?
It's a double-edge sword though, because from what I've read, admissions can tell a lot of the time when the letter was written by an applicant.

Haha, I think it's more common than it should be. Someone insisted on writing me an LOR (and is an alum from one of my top choices) then said it'd prob be better if I wrote it an she "added to it." I'm not entirely sure how to go about this since my other two writers didn't share theirs with me.King of the North wrote:Do people actually do this? I'm not complaining bc I appreciate it. But this is taking more time than I anticipated

This and if the writing style is too similar to your other submissions. So this is going to take some timehamshotfirst wrote:It's more common than you think, mostly because people asked to write the recommendation just say "you write it an I'll sign it."King of the North wrote:Do people actually do this? Would this recommender be willing to take a list of bullet points and turn them into sentences themselves?chewinggum wrote:This and if the writing style is too similar to your other submissions.
