Maybe it is more prestigious now. Would you compare it to Michigan/Berk/UCLA/UVA?aurelian wrote:Bruh, in what world is UT-Austin not a prestigious public school?PrezRand wrote:But But it's not an ivy or prestigious public school!!!Mikey wrote:still a great school if someone wants to work in TX. especially if someone is interested in TX big law.PrezRand wrote:I never realized how much of a prestige whore I was until now. For undergrad, for sure. I would've gone to TX in a heartbeat if I lived in TX. And I went to Michigan.PrezRand wrote:Maybe it is more prestigious now. Yeah i loosely follow it combined with the MH RC (and now Trainer), but utilize some of his main points. I'd say my average is about -3,-4. Or was... I havent started PTing again.Mikey wrote:You do? Didn't know this, interesting. What do you usual get on RC sections?jagerbom79 wrote: I tend to use Voyager;s method as well-- very helpful. It seems very natural to me to do it this way
Right now im finishing the trainer and really like the points in there about RC too.

I find the tiers of top public schools (for ug) to be something like this:aurelian wrote:For undergrad, for sure. I would've gone to TX in a heartbeat if I lived in TX. srs, chest has been irking me lately. my bench has been lagging and still can't hit 315, I'm going to lay down and cry now.
I'm tempted to bail on my cut and just be on maintenance until June is over and done with.
Speaking of june did kinda meh on my LR drilling just now, 18/25 on Flaw, Strengthen/Weaken, and Assumption with most my losses coming for strengthen surprisingly; LG went much better, just basic/advanced linear did 27/27. I need to get LR more consistent and back to -0/1, 4 months DJ relax.

I want to work in DC after law school. Somewhere in the PI area, or maybe not. Anyway, do you guys think it's better to go to Harvard/Boston College or Georgetown/UVA/Richmond for working in DC?
I love Boston and Harvard would be my first choice for a number of reasons, but I'm not sure if Boston (or NYC for Columbia) is too far away to work in DC.

In chapter 5 of Manhattan LR, I like their approach to LR much better than the trainers version, word is still out on the LG portion because I haven't read it yet. Hoping for 85%-90% accuracy on my drilling tonight, shall report with it.

are you in UG? If not, TLS and studying is pretty normal at this point, being out of UG is lame.dm1683 wrote:LOL I'm such a loser being on TLS on Saturday night.

Yeah dude, chill I have TLS cued up just to look at stuff when I take a break from reading (Which I should get back to but I've done 3 hours today already, so maybe drill soon). I hate my UG friends who haven't experienced this because I'm super lame now; being said my job is pretty dope, I don't work Fridays and don't start work on Tuesday until 12:00p.m.dm1683 wrote:No I'm not out of UG that's the sad part ahahadj9i27 wrote:are you in UG? On the LSAT note, June will be dope because we don't start until 12:30-1:00 which is good because I can be all angsty until 2am and still get sleep.

Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
Man I've honestly probably spent the majority of my UG weekend nights chilling at home, either studying or just relaxing. Going out is fun and all but I don't have the personality that enjoys doing it every weekend. Most nights I would take a night of staying home playing Fifa/2k and listening to music over going out. Studying at home on a Saturday night isn't lame, especially if you're in the latter half of UG.dm1683 wrote:No I'm not out of UG that's the sad part ahahadj9i27 wrote:are you in UG? just finished up LR drilling for the night, less questions but better ratio 14/15. Going to go read through some of Manhattan RC and then do a section of RC.

did 1/2 RC section, muy cansado. 14/14 but it was untimed (finished in ~20 minutes) so muh comprehension is somewhat there. Hope everyone elses prep is going well, I'm going to go ahead and assume you all aren't looking at workout supplements and out having fun.

Just been taking some earlier sections and went -2/-1 on the LRs from PT 38. Hoping this isn't some fluke or those weren't just ridiculously easy ones...

How many hours are you putting in a day DJ? 4 months for a retake seems like plenty of time right?dj9i27 wrote:did 1/2 RC section, muy cansado. 14/14 but it was untimed (finished in ~20 minutes) so muh comprehension is somewhat there. Another week, another 18 hour goal I fell way short of.
Maybe I need to be scared more. Or maybe I need to stop focusing on all the side shit I'm doing.

Hey DJ. What do you like better about manhattan LR? Also, would the 2011 version be fine to use? I'm wondering what to get into after the Trainer.dj9i27 wrote:In chapter 5 of Manhattan LR, I like their approach to LR much better than the trainers version, word is still out on the LG portion because I haven't read it yet. I feel like a goober. I've been sitting in my bathrobe since I got back from my gym. All of my brothers went out with women and I was just chilling. I even went to get food in my robe and when I came back there were people in our house and I know the girls were like "Why is he in a robe?"

berkeley is a bit more selective and there are a lot of dual admits that choose ucla over berkeley because the location is like 10x better but by most metrics in terms of actual recruitment/opportunities/prestige berkeley is solidly above ucla at the ug levelPrezRand wrote: UCLA and Berkeley are peers at the undergrad lvl
