Yep 169 is auto retake for me. I want 175. I think I would keep 173 but 170-172 I am 80% sure I would retake.
I feel pretty much the same. 170 or below is a retake for me. Not sure what I would do with a 171-172 though. My goal is 173+. I think at a 171 or 172 its really tough to improve and would be worried about doing worse on a retake. (my average PT was ~174)
Yeah it seems to me like people who are PTing in the middle 170s and get a disappointing test-day score don't need to study to improve, but instead to study to keep your skills up. Like how you'd take two PTs one week apart, and they'd be a 173 and a 176 - a huge difference as far as an absolute score goes, but when you see that difference on a PT, it's almost negligible. So if I see a bad score on June's, it's not going to register for me as "oh, I didn't study enough" or "I didn't know my stuff," it registers as "that was a low score, time to take another," like I would with PTs. If LSAT scores were returned immediately and they were administered every weekend, I don't think I'd have any problem hitting even a 175+, the problem is the long gap between the tests. I don't know if I can keep my skills up after weeks of not studying, and if I can't how much studying is required to keep them up until October? I do NOT want to have to study as much as I did for June, and if it turns out that that's what's required to do well on a retake, then my standards as to what warrants a retake will drop significantly.
I agree with this completely. June was my last retake after taking it in December and getting a 166. I was pting consistently around the 170 mark. Every once in awhile I'd have a 166 or a 176 but pretty consistently between 168 and 172. I don't know if I did that on June's test but at the very least I am hoping I picked up a few points. I feel at the very top of the test the margin for error is so small given how variably different each test is. I was consistently going -1 to -4 on LR while practicing and i genuinely don't know what I did on the first LR section- I thought it was extremely difficult, the answers just weren't popping out. On the other hand, I felt like I went -0 on the second LR section.

I don't feel like any more amount of practice was really going to help me. I am just happy I am never taking the Lsat again.

You guys would be disappointed in this TLSer if I divulged my goals/retake standards. I am very LSAT-averse and don't want to have to take it again. All I know for sure is anything sub-167 is going to be the cry zone, requiring a retake. Anything above 170 is a miracle and would be considered a gift from God. Also a cry zone because it means I wouldn't have to retake. Anything between is grey area that would make me cry due to the fact that I would have to decide whether or not to retake. Essentially, by the time July 7th comes around, my tear ducts are going to be empty. I'd consider retake if not up to 171/172, but I'd have to invest in more practice materials as I ran out over my last round of studying.

I told myself going in that I was very prepared for this test unless I got hit with either a single logic game that pushes my time over or a RC passage that I just can't wrap my head around. Unfortunately I got hit with one of those LGs, though thinking back on it I think I salvaged it pretty well, if I remember the rules and my answers correctly. Still sucks to chalk up a loss all of that studying to just one logic game if that ends up doing me in.

I think the stimulus wording was just the hard part. normally its straight forward but they added details to make it seem like it was different type of game. i was thrown off until i read the first questions then it became really clear.

the wort part this was only week one. i dont even know anymore. im probably going to start goign to the gym. this is unbearable. i wish i could pay or go on a journey that would let me see my score. i would climb a mountain if i could see it

This sounds like th beginning of a pretty bad (or awesome) movie in which a band of unlikley companions joins together to travel to LSAC headquarters and breaks in to find out their scores

Now, given that the December scores were released on January 1st, I don't know if this will hold; however, I think that the dates on which the scores are most likely to be released are the 2nd and 6th (the 1st if we are being bold) given that the 4th of July falls on a weekend, making Friday (July 3rd) the observation day for that holiday.

Ugh.

I'm with you on going on a mission to discover our scores.

ETA: Which of the logic games did you think was irregular? I'm assuming we can discuss content of the logic games, and not specifics.

Was it the one about the bonus, the librarians, the trees, or the magazine features?
