I needed some advice with LR drilling. When drilling by type, do you guys put the questions into a timed section of 35 minutes with 25 questions? Or just do 10-15 questions with a certain time?

I'm currently looking over a MLSAT section and then attacking the questions. I wanted to do the same with the LSAT trainer but there's several sections and they kinda integrate with each other. Any suggestions?

I was looking over the powerscore LRB for method of reasoning questions and it really messed me up on drills with how it explained that the conclusion and sub-conclusion saying how the final sentence is the sub conclusion when it begins with thus but that's not really the case for every question.

Logical reasoning is hands down the most frustrating section on this test.

With all of this drilling, I wanted to test the waters to see if the new LRs really are different so I did a timed section of PT70. Is this a representational sample size? No, but either way, I thought that LR was very similar. I scored how I usually do and the same things trip me up still (the things I haven't drilled yet - I was doing 100% perfect on the question types I have drilled so far which is good). However, I did not enjoy this particular set of stimuli. I hope the rest of the newer LSATs aren't that boring

Been a while since I posted here. I've been drilling, but was slacking because I thought I could drill all three section each day while expecting to review. I decided to concentrate on 2 sections LG and LR and then focus on RC in March before I start full PTs in April.

For today I did 53 NA LR questions and I missed -6.

For LG I did 4 new games and 4 repeats from the previous day. All grouping games

New LG
PT 24 G4. -0 (13:41mins) I choked and decided to brute force my way through
PT 26 G4 -2 (11:27mins)
PT 28 G2. -0 (9:41mins)
PT 29 G2. -0 (12:40mins)

Repeat games all were done under 8:45mins and I had -0.

More drilling tomorrow, I'm calling it a day!

Why are you wasting the newer practice exams? Doesn't really make sense to me.

My focus has been off recently. I pretty much did nothing all weekend. I've been thinking more along the lines of where I'll get accepted, GPA's, and scores, and how I'll finance law school, as opposed to working my ass off to even get into a great school.

I really need to buckle down. A lot of you are working harder than me right now. I need to get back in the ring.

Hopefully finish drilling all LR 1-38 Cambridge by the end of Feb.

Don't worry I still have 30+ practice exams that I haven't ever seen. I figured that I could sacrifice one section to overcome the worry that all my work is not as effective as it could be. After all, we are taking PT72 so seeing a section from PT70 is a fairly telling taste of what we will actually see.

Nice! I always thought that method statement increases your ability of breaking down arguments.
anyways, it finally clicked for me regarding rc. I just have to read a tad but slower, and read more for structure. (thanks to mike kim's trainer.) - just did a section of rc (pt #27) and got -2. one wrong due to mis reading.

Nice job on the -2! I'm going to be drilling the hell out of RC this week. It's been about 2 months since I read the Trainer RC lessons, so I think I'll go back over those too--just to get me back into the proper mindset. Hoping for some solid improvement by the time I hit PT 41 next Saturday.

Thanks! Sometimes I wonder if I am helping my "competition" more than I am helping myself . I think that writing it out on the forums makes me do a better job with my explanations because I am not just going to say "out of scope. eliminate." as often as I would if I was writing it out myself.

Have you been using the Cambridge LR packs at all? I noticed you said that you were drilling questions "by type," and if so are you ever worried about seeing difficult questions during practice tests that you've already seen/reviewed?

I have all of the "10 Actual" books and I don't want to run out of material on the way, but everyone seems to be raving about the Cambridge packets.

I only use Cambridge packets to drill. Drill --> Cambridge, ~Cambridge --> ~Drilling.

I have 1-38 for drilling purposes. Then I have 39-70 for PTing.

Hello, June '14 retaker wanting to get involved in this thread to keep me focused. Was PT'ing at ~162, took the Dec '13 LSAT and scored a 158. I would like to refine my strategies at attacking LR and RC as game sections I typically go -0 or -1 and on the actual test went -2. I have PS LR and LG Bibles, the Manhattan LR guide and the Cambridge LR packet.

Would it be advisable to get the Trainer as well and use that as my main focus and supplementing with the other materials I have or just stick with what I have and try ringing out as much information as possible?

Just bought myself the Cambridge ultimate prep package (which contains over 7000 questions and grouped by type) so its time to get to the super serious business of drilling drilling and more drilling!

Do you have guys any idea on where I should start? I'm terrible at LG and so-so at LR. For the lack of prep I have in RC, im doing pretty well (averaging -5 a section).

Any input, like always, is appreciated!

So, I just downloaded this iphone app called, "LSAT by NerdCoach." It's actually pretty fun. Kinda pricey for what it is but still fun and sort of has helped me already with speeding up on making decisions about questions. I also, just for fun, got another app called LSAT SmartVocab just to keep my mind sharp to terms used. I thought I'd spread the word about these and ask if you all are using anything for your June prep. It's kind of a fun thing for me to mix it up a bit and sort of not just be doing the typical studying!

I did 50 NA drills today and missed -7. Will review it in the am. Also completed 8 grouping unbalanced games and luckily didn't miss any of them and all were under 12 mins. Good luck everyone.

Little bit of an update. I've been practicing for about a month now going through strategy guides and then drilling. I have been doing problem types mostly in isolation, but I decided today to see if I could put it all together. I didn't time myself, as my focus at this point is if can I actually get the correct answer. I will of course begin strictly timing myself, but at this point I'm focused on getting questions correct. So I started a stopped watch and took PT-62 and scored a 168!! It was un-timed, but I finished most of the sections within 35 min. It's such a huge improvement from that 146. I go back and forth about whether I'll be ready for June, but today's PT gives me hope. Looking forward to seeing more improvement.

Does anyone know if there are good LR Drilling instructional videos similar 7sage LSAT Prep, but free, and if there aren't any that are free is 7sage LSAT Prep the best route to invest in regards to Logical Reasoning.
