Fucking Phi Beta Kappa actually counts for something? Also, I see no relevant WE as a soft so I have none.Alexandros wrote:Here u go child http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... &start=250dj9i27 wrote:I still no findAlexandros wrote:Lol still not average.oopsu812 wrote:The "KJD and/or Weak Softs Thread". What the hell are these honors societies and how do I join one. Also time 2 get published in Nature.
I'm kind of skeptical about that list though tbh. Why the hell is "triple major" an above-average soft? No way man.

I dunno, I just don't think people should go KJD. Get life experience, figure out whether or not law is really what you want as a career, and get stronger softs while you're at it.

Oh no, I've never heard of it. I meant the list in general suits me okay. I'd love to believe that language skills are a decent soft. pleasedj9i27 wrote:you're in it? no offense it's just I didn't jive well with the one at my UG and am curious how it ranked so high. play to your strengths, everyone is lol.oopsu812 wrote:Just someone's opinion. I completely agree. I imagine that if my first LSAT attempt isn't a high enough score, I won't bother retaking it or applying until I have significant WE and a masters. At that point I'd reevaluate what I want.Alexandros wrote:I dunno, I just don't think people should go KJD. I just think barely any kids just coming out of college are gonna know whether or not 80 work weeks in corporate America is what they wanna do with their life. They don't have a reference to compare it to. If you're Jagerbom here doing 70hr/wk finance internships, sure (though I know he's not KJD), but most others won't.dj9i27 wrote:The real world sucks.Alexandros wrote:I dunno, I just don't think people should go KJD. I guess just speaking for myself at least, as a KJD (or close to it).

But if it is, still, do try to get that WE. Saying this because you are me a year ago.oopsu812 wrote:I completely agree. I'd be able to get 3 before LSAT ran out, 4 if I could defer an acceptance. (I believe)Alexandros wrote:But if it is, still, do try to get that WE. Grinding a 9-5 (or in the case of biglaw, 10-10)for a while might not be able to tell you anything about what you want in life, but it will definitely help you see what you don't want in life, which may put you on a completely different career path than what you're planning now

Seriously considering taking 2 years off. But I don't have to make that decision right now, thankfully.

then you'll be old man alex and I'll be dead by UG age standards.Alexandros wrote:Seriously considering taking 2 years off. But I don't have to make that decision right now, thankfully.
I'd take one off. I'd say stay in your UG town but you seem pretty keen on moving on. Pick somewhere with a friend tho, it's a lot easier taking you lunch break with someone and bitching about how work sucks.
