When you guys are setting up logic games, do you write every rule like 7sage does? Even if it's something as simple as "J cannot be first or last" (which would be denoted as J 1/6 with a slash)? At first I thought it was a waste of time to write each rule, but it also makes it much easier to review all the rules quickly and see if they fit the hypotheticals I make throughout the game. Thoughts?

What does everyones study schedule actaully look like, goals vs reality. And how long has everyone been studying/plan to study? I've create a 4 month schedule with 4x's weekly 'assignments' and am just curious what other peoples looks like.

I find it most helpful to write simple rules onto the game board, by putting a slash through J under both 1 and 6.

For things like 'J cannot be first or last' I usually write it on the game board and slash it. Works better this way for me when making sub game boards.

Okay starting tomorrow. I promise. LG drilling for sure to get back to my former ~glory~
Need to go buy a bookshelf to organize all my study materials. Have a nice desk setup in my room, but will also check out the local library.

Roomie may study for LSAT too so should provide some healthy competition / motivation.

I'm about to buy myself a big desk for my room.. Studying on my bed or on the breakfast bar/island isn't ideal

@railyard,

Do you use the Powerscore book for LR? It helps tremendously. And learning the fundamentals of conditionality and causal reasoning is key because one or the other appears in like 80% of the questions.

Yes, I am just starting out studying too. I should probably be doing them untimed, correct?

Yes I am, I going to re-read those sections over again before I do anymore drills, need to drill the fundamentals first.

yeah i would suggest not trying to do them in less than 35 min until you have the fundamentals down. Once you start getting the hang of it then try to get it under 45ish mins (or even more if you really need to) and start shaving time off from there.

I've noticed my biggest improvements have from doing specific question type drills first, and then doing mixed reviews. The Cambridge packet separates all of the different types of LR questions and has them listed in terms of difficulty. I've been doing around 30-40 questions per drill over a span of 2-3 hours and have noticed my accuracy rise significantly. We still have a lot of time to do timed drills so my advice would be to separate your days out by doing specific question types each day -untimed - and once you feel comfortable with your accuracy, start doing timed mixed sections.

Haha will do :P the few times that has happened was because I didn't get much sleep and when I woke back up I got back to studying so at least I'm good with that haha. But again I really feel that I need a desk. Told my parents that would be a good birthday present!

Good! I am a strong advocate of focusing on fundamentals/strategy, then accuracy, then efficiency (accuracy under the time pressure).

I'm doing the Online Blueprint Course... I'm doing about 2 Lessons a week, which includes 5-7 hours of video per lesson plus homework assignments (so a total of about 20-30 hours per week). I should be finished by the end of March. This course also includes 5 Preptests throughout.

After that I'll spend April and May alternating between PTs (2-3x/wk) and the Manhattan Prep Drill Books.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
