Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS
I'm applying this cycle as well. Have a super super rough draft of PS but I think it sucks, so I've got to figure that out too.santoki wrote:think ima be applying this cycle, so i better get a move on with PS. guess il have to explore other sections of TLS for PS guidance...
Otherwise, my apps are pretty much ready. Need to do few 'Why Xs' but I'm thinking I'm going to quickly apply to the schools that I'm already at/above medians, and wait to see Dec LSAT score for the ones that are currently a reach.

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS
yeah im not too worried about my PS and such...ive applied to grad programs and so has my fiance, so I think i can put together a pretty strong app in a short period of time. def feel sitting out a cycle, but it would just be more convenient for me if i was able to apply this cycle.Dirigo wrote:I'd def start brainstorming PS topics and complete that before score release. Even if you sit out, you can just use it next year.
It's looking very likely I'm sitting out the cycle since I don't feel so hot about my performance Saturday. I'd rather apply September 1st with a 170+ then try and scrabble together an app and ride waitlists until I get a February score or a better June score for schollys.
The only Sept. Waiters who are def going this cycle are Xylo, Hand, & Grey. Schmelly too I think seeing as he applied. I'm guessing probably ergo too but I haven't heard from in awhile.
Colonel, movie, sfogs, GT, me, etc. aren't.
and i tried to convince colonel to take just to see how he would do but no dice

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS
To go off of this... if I score above 170, but have a crap GPA (3.37) do I still need to worry about YP?Dirigo wrote:The only schools that you really need to write why x for are schools that YP (yield protect) so mainly just Penn, Virginia, and Michigan I think.tommypickles wrote:are you guys gonna send your apps in immediately once you get your score? i'm done with my PS, and want to work on my "why x" essays" but don't know if i should write them yet since where i'll be applying will be influenced by the score i get. i'm still on the fence about applying this cycle
So unless you score above a 170, I wouldn't stress about writing why x.

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS
Well the other reason to write Why X is if you're a borderline candidate, and you want to tip the scales in your favor.
If you're below one or both medians, a well crafted Why X essay would be a good addition to your application.
As for YP schools, Rigo left out Duke.
